Christmas week 2012 discounts

Hey everyone:

We are DVC members, but will be short on points this December and I think we'll go cash for Christmas week 2012.

I'm out of the loop on what kind of discounts are available during Christmas week.

We are AP holders and AAA members as well. Did any of the Disney promotions cover the actual Christmas dates?

You don't really see discounts for Christmas week. It is the single most busy and expensive week of the entire year at WDW and they simply don't need to put out discounts to fill the resorts during that week. I think AAA is blacked out for discounts for that week also.

Looks like mousesavers shows AP rates only ran to 12/23/11, then started up again 1/2/12:

For stays 10/3/11-12/24/11 30%-40% off Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 8/3/11, exp 9/4/11
For stays 10/3/11-12/24/11 25%-35% off Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 9/6/11, exp 12/24/11
For stays 10/3/11-12/24/11 25%-35% off Florida resident room-only rates became available on 9/9/11, exp 12/24/11
For stays 10/30/11-12/23/11 15%-30% off general public room-only rates became available on 10/5/11, exp 11/19/11

For stays 1/2/12-3/8/12 35%-40% off Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 10/5/11, exp 12/3/11
For stays 1/2/12-3/8/12 30%-35% off Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 12/4/11, exp 3/8/12

I don't know why I didn't even think of checking mousesaver's historical dates. I should have done that!

So, looks like we might be able to book a couple nights up until the 23rd on AP but then should use points for the rest of the week since I can't handle not having a discount.

Yea, you're not gonna find any discounts for that week. We scored a 40% off PIN this year and I was shocked to see that it was good until 12/24.
