Christmas Trees in Rooms?

I was just reading that you could pay to have a tree put in your reort room around Christmas time. I thought this would be a great idea.

A few questions:

How tall are the trees?
How much does it cost?
Do I call the resort itself or CRO?

Well you can get them from disney florist but they are very expensive over $300 bucks.

I'd ship one ahead of time - get a little inexpensive one and some ornaments, then you could just leave it there. I brought one tiny one down once when we were at the BWV for 10 nights just before Christmas, also decorated the villa with window clings and stuff. It was fun!!!!!!!

Remember, you are not just paying for the tree. You are paying for the ornaments (Disney ornaments are very expensive), the time to dress the tree (very time consuming) and to set it up in your room (also, very time consuming).

It could be draped in gold ornaments, with diamond tinsel, with Mickey and Minnie in our room putting the star on it, and I wouldn't pay that much. Yikes!!!

When we went 2 years ago for Christmas I bought a 2 foot tree with lights at our local craft store (AC Moore) for 9.99 less a 40% off coupoun. We bought mini ornaments at the dollar tree and we had a very nice decoration for our room for very little money. We left it there when we left. I packed it in our luggage.

We also brought a string of christmas lights and suction cup hooks and static cling decorations for our window - we had alot of people stop by and admire our decorations.

I did this a couple years ago. I stayed at POP xmas 2005 when I checked in there was a tree waiting for us from someone one this board. It was really cute and very nice of her. I passed it on after I was done.

I'm not saying anyone should buy one if they don't want to do so. Of course, a tree you bring yourself will be much cheaper. However, when you purchase a tree from the Disney Florist, you are getting a 4 ft tree covered in Disney ornaments and dressed by professional florists. That comes with a price.

We spent last Xmas at WDW and I ordered ours from the Disney florist last year and after choking on the price myself kept it secret from DH.....when we saw it, though, he guessed right away how much it cost because it was GORGEOUS and looked like it would cost as much as it did, and it even smelled like Christmas sugarplums. We will use it in our house year after year. I was really anxious to be spending that much on a fake Xmas tree,(we always love REAL trees) but I have no regrets. I love it.

As my mom always said, you get what you pay for! Just the convenience of walking into your room and seeing a tree already there and ready for you has to be worth something.

I'm glad you like your tree and will be able to enjoy it for many years.

Another idea as opposed to shipping a tree, is too go to a local store(if your driving) and buy a tree, I don't know if they would be more expensive, but you would have to consider the price of the tree and shipping costs. It might be worth a quick trip to a local store.

If I recall, visits from any characters can be arranged for most any legal purpose, for $500 for an hour--each!

If you are staying concierge, it will be in your room when you arrive. If not, you would need to arrange a time that you will be out of your room after you have checked in. During that time frame, the Disney Florist will enter your room and set up the tree. They cannot do so prior to your check in because rooms are not usually assigned until you check in. On the rare occasion that they are assigned prior, there is always the possibility of reassignment.

To do anything prior to check in carries to big a risk of a mistake. For instance, I delivered a basket once a couple of years ago. It was placed a room prior to the guest checking in. The room was later reassigned. Another family opened the basket. Disney ended up replacing the basket items, but it sort of ruined the experience for the family that had purchased the basket.
