I really love tie dying and wanted to share my Christmas version of tie dye Mickey shirts. I do a bit different version, which gives a more stripey look on the arms and hood. Thanks for letting me share. After all the hours I put into them, I had to "share" them with someone. Who better than my DISer friends!!

Here is what the back looks like! I really love the stripes on the hood.

Here is an adult one!

And the back!

And finally all 6 of them!!

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will wear them to the Party on 11/20!!

They are great. I like the striped look.

I can't seem to get white around my Mickey heads. I like that yours show up so well!

Those are fantastic...you should consider an Etsy store and make some $$$ off of those! :cool1:

What is an Etsy store?

ps Nice job on your 17 days! It took be three real tries, but I finally stopped 8 years ago.

Thank you!! I've 'cheated' a couple of times but I'm still doing great. :goodvibes

An Etsy store is for handmade things, like an online store. Sort of like ebay (you can have a 'store' on ebay also) but better and only for things handmade.

Those are GREAT!! Love them!! We were supposed to go this Nov.to check out WDW for xmas, but dh lost his job and there is just no way we can afford to go now. I would love to make these though for when we do go (hoping for next year) -- how do you make them to get the mickey shape in the middle?

They look awesome - Thank you for posting - I was wondering how it would look with long sleeves. I'm going to do ours in the next week or so - we are going to the party Dec 3 :cool1:

this is going to get moved as there is another DIS'er who someone asked about purchasing and it got moved to the arts forum...

be forewarned..

First, THANKS for all the nice comments....secondly, I would never be able to sell them...too much time to be worth it. But, I love doing them and would love to share the process of how to do it. I know there are some other threads that have great descriptions too.

It's actually pretty easy, just use dental floss to stich the design on the front.

When you are done, cinch it all up tight and knot the ends of the floss.

Rubberband very tightly around the Mickey head shape.

This is what they look like all rubberbanded and ready to dye.

Let me know if you need more specifics about prepping the fabric and dye etc...I would love to share so you can make your own.

Next, I am going to tie dye some fabric backpacks...I might try the swirl designs for them.

I made these for our last trip up there.. wore them on the plane and the bit of time we had before it closed that night. :) I think I'll do the same thing for this trip.

I like how the color around yours turned out better.. mine had alot of white. They got tons of compliments though! Here is a picture of mine

the 2 on the right were dresses for my little one's.

They look great! Our bigger ones have more white, 'cause of all the thickness that the dye has to seep through. This time, I went back and added more dye after they had set for a few minutes...and also I turned them to apply dye to the other side.

Do you keep them wet before you put on the dye? When they are wet the dye will seep into the fabric better.

These are adorable! I do hope it's cool enough for you to wear the long-sleeves. We've been over Thanksgiving many times, and have found that it's rarely cool enough for long-sleeves though. It won't help this time, but for others and if you do something like this again, we've found that we keep all our special Disney vacation shirts in short-sleeves and have long-sleeved white tees to layer underneath in case it's cool. This way we can can we can wear them no matter what the weather does!
