1. Eggnog or hot chocolate? I say eggnog, but that's b/c I don't have it all year, so I wonder if I would get sick of it if it was accessible year round?

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped of course - half the fun is unwrapping them!

3. Coloured or white lights on tree/house? I love white but we do colored b/c Christiaan likes colored best.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.

5. When do you put your decorations up? We didn't decorate this year b/c no one coming to see us and we are going away. I did decorate outside though so no one else would know we are being scrooge like on the decorations.

6. What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? As a kid, I used to hate Christmas dinner b/c it was all foods I hated: ham, german potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw. In later years, mom got the hint and made regular potato salad which I do love.

7. Favourite holiday memory as a child? Dad reading "the night before christmas" every christmas eve

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I think about 9 or 10, but I hid that I knew until 12.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas eve? Never, I won't even let parents put the presents under the tree until after I go to bed, even now!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? with ornaments from around the world. Whenever we travel, I always buy an ornament - got two from Paris!

11. Snow....Love it?...or dread it? Don't really care either way. I grew up never having snow at christmas.

12. Can you ice skate? nope - weak ankles

13. Do you remember your favourite gift? diamond earrings and necklace from Christiaan

14. Best Christmas gift you ever gave? this year to Christiaan - I'll tell you after the holiday

15. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? spending it with Christiaan, family and friends

18. Turkey or ham on Christmas? used to be ham, this year turkey (thank god!)

19. Which do you prefer...giving or receiving? Giving.... although it kills me to wait for christmas b/c I'm so excited to give the gift.

5. When do you put your decorations up? I only do a tree and a few other little things because I am not a "knick-knack person". Mine went up around December 8th.

6. What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Prime rib or tenderloin. Cheesecake.

7. Favourite holiday memory as a child? Being 6 years old and having a Christmas with my grandparents, my mom, and my uncle--having lots of my extended family around. Sadly, I never see them anymore.

11. Snow....Love it?...or dread it? I hate snow but would love for it to snow on Christmas. It is a rarity that it would snow here on Christmas though. It's possible but almost never happens.

1. Eggnog or hot chocolate? Eggnog, just once, have already had it at a Christmas party so that's my limit.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped, definitely wrapped (no lazy santa at our house)
3. Coloured or white lights on tree/house? Colored lights on the tree, white lights outside

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No

5. When do you put your decorations up? It takes me a long time to decorate, it's an ongoing process, I actually finished last night but started weeks ago, not that I dedorate every inch of my house it just takes me awile to get it all done.
6. What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Christmas Eve, we do the Feast of the Seven Fishes, so I like all that stuff. And I like the Lasagna on Christmas Day (that's just a small part of the meal)

7. Favourite holiday memory as a child? Just the excitement of it all, I can remember on the radio they use to track Santa, where he was in the world. Hiding presents, the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen, all the relatives getting together, the shows we use to put on (brothers/sisters/cousins use to put on a show, usually about baby jesus, for my grandmother/parents/aunts/uncles/friends.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas eve? I use to open one gift on Christmas Eve, but not anymore. My husbands family use to open all their gifts on Christmas Eve.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? With ornaments that are old, new, handmade, store bought. They are all very special, at least to me. No theme though.
11. Snow....Love it? I love snow, I couldn't imagine a warm Christmas, but this year NY has been having very unseasonably warm temperatures, it is supposed to be in the high 40's on Christmas Day! No snow for us on the big day.
12. Can you ice skate? I use to, but never good. I have weak ankles too!
13. Do you remember your favourite gift? My favorites gifts were ones that my kids made me or ones that they saved up to buy for me.

14. Best Christmas gift you ever gave? Walt Disney World tickets for my family!!

15. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with family and friends.

16. What is your favourite Holiday dessert? Pingoli cookies and Frutti di bosco

17. What is your favourite Holiday tradition? Leaving cookies out for Santa and getting a christmas book in the cookies place. Putting baby jesus in the manger after midnight. Watching the Yule log. Cookie exchange parties. these are just a few.

1. Eggnog or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate. Eggnog is blechy.

3. Coloured or white lights on tree/house? Colored. Love the Christmasy colors! White looks like a department store, IMO.

7. Favourite holiday memory as a child? Using neighbor kid's new Detective Kit to search for Santa's fingerprints, to see if Santa really existed.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Bunch of mismatched ornaments collected over the years, including some really ugly ones the kids made in school. Colored lights, string tinsel. The kind of tree Martha Stewart just would NOT have.

11. Snow....Love it?...or dread it? Loathe, hate, despise...there isn't a strong enough word for my feelings re: snow.

12. Can you ice skate? Yes.

14. Best Christmas gift you ever gave? The first time I gave DH beer...well, it was a good night.

15. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? The people, the love, the warmth.

17. What is your favourite Holiday tradition? Reading "A Christmas Carol" through the month. And reading The Grinch on Christmas eve.

19. Which do you prefer...giving or receiving? I like both. But if I had to lose one, it'd be receiving. I could live without getting gifts, but would be heartbroken if I couldn't give any.

7. Favourite holiday memory as a child? The whole family (8 kids, 36 grandkids, spouses, etc) meeting at my grandparents farm and having carriage rides, telling past christmas stories and playing games. Sadly, once my grandma died in 1992, this tradition ended and half the family doesn't speak to each other anymore

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? This is crazy talk, I still beleive there is a real Santa somewhere.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas eve? We open one family gift each on Christmas eve, the rest when Santa comes on xmas morning.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Disney of course, since our 1st trip in 1996. I usally get 4-5 ornaments every time we visit.

11. Snow....Love it?...or dread it? Love it for a few days, I like to ski. Hate it when I have to shovel my driveway!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? yes, the birth of my daughter on Nov 25-an early xmas present!

14. Best Christmas gift you ever gave? A ring I found in my grandma's belongings that was thought to be lost, I got it cleaned and re-setted and gave it to my mom the year after my grandma died.

15. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with my family.

16. What is your favourite Holiday dessert? Pumpkin cheesecake or coconut cream clusters

17. What is your favourite Holiday tradition? Going "treeing" with my family. We pack everyone up in the mini van and drive around my hometown looking at everyone's holiday lights and stop at relatives' houses to see their trees.
