I think the holiday things will be there through New Years. Hannukah just started, and there is only a week between Christmas and New Years....just enough time to get IRL decorations down. If they are up past New Years....well then I would think something is off (or normal for VMK)

Just an FYI- but you know that old Christmas Carol about the 12 Days of Christmas... those 12 days start 12/25/05 (actually 12/26 if you are counting it as day 1) and ends on 1/6/05 which is known in our area as 12th night.

12th night is the first day of the Mardi Gras Season. See we are always looking for a good reason to party here- and with Mardi Gras leading into Lent (which is 40 days of no parties they try to cram in a bunch all at once lol)

So if you have a true love you still have time to send some of those gifts lol

Editted to add that I do not believe this is why the stuff is still there- but tend to believe what others have mentioned that it will stay around for other holidays or at least the new year.

Now as for those decorations in the Esplanade- they may be there for a while lol- I'm just glad they aren't rotting pumpkins

In a couple of weeks time, the smell of squashed/rotten pumpkins will be replaced with the smell of dead christmas tree.. lol

Calm Down people, technicaly Christmas isn't over! Don't get all crazy like the halloween debacle! lol How about you enjoy the FEW christmas decorations while u can!

LOL, yeah I'm not too worried about this yet. Like VirtuallyMe said, traditionally Christmas decorations are kept up till January 6th (that's the way we do it at my house). Plus, it's just the esplanade and not the entire Main Street that's decorated anyway (which still disappoints me, but oh well). I'll still be keeping the Mickey Christmas tree up in my Briar room!

I didn't think they'd go away. Besides, I've still got all of the Christmas decorations up at MY house, so I didn't expect VMK to have theirs down either.

On my street, two houses had their Christmas trees on their lawns for the garbage this morning !!

(Of course, they may have been up since halloween, for all I know )
