Christmas stocking for fish extender?

Would it be okay to use a Christmas stocking as a fish extender on one of the Very Merrytime cruises? Our first cruise and we found out too late about fish extenders to buy one or make one. Thanks!

You can use whatever you want. I've seen plastic grocery bags used for FEs.

We used them for our December 2006 cruise. It was my gift. I put the family's last name on the cuff.

Yes! I used one for the Merrytime Cruise 2013. It actually held the stuff better. We are infamous for being out of our room for long periods of time.

I think that's a nice idea, and I would personalize it! I think I will do that for our December 2015 Wonder cruise!

YES, I think that would be a fine idea and so much easier than making your own! We just got back a few weeks ago and that is one thing I wish I would have been more simple about because I really stressed about how to make the FE. A stocking would be perfect!

We also saw a few tote bags hung on doors too, which is fine as well!

You could use some ribbon or yarn (maybe crochet a string to give it strength). Or just use colourful zip ties. You could make a simple chain like this:

I used a dowel rod with ends glued on hung from a ribbon of Christmas colors. I'll try to upload a pic, however it's just been my son and I so only 2 stockings.
