I'm wondering if anyone has a clue about...

Disney's advertisement will say that Christmas starts November 12th.

The after hours Christmas events start on November 8th.

Now, logic would say that they are going to be decorated on the 8th for the start of the after-hours events. So does anyone have an idea what they mean by Christmas starts on the 12th? We are actually going to be there the 8th through the 12th and I'm wondering what to expect. It would be lovely to see all Christmas!

By the 8th all MK decor should be up.
I'm guessing they are focusing on that and then hope to have everything else up by the 12th.
Agreed. The MK has usually been the priority, especially since the official parties are there. But the resorts and other parks won't be far behind.

Hollywood Studios had big red and white stars up yesterday. I presumed that was early Christmas decorating; is it not?

The events start on 8th.
Decorations start to go up Nov 1st. MMK will be completed , other parks 1/2 at least
Resorts start with deluxe down to value .

I see EPCOT's "Living with the Land" is getting a Christmas light overlay in some parts, but that's not announced to start until 11/26. Anyone know if that'll be open sooner?

BTW.... I know it would be a logistic and insurance nightmare, but you know what I would love? I would love to have a VIP tour and just watch the overnight transformation to Christmas at the Magic Kingdom. I love everything about Christmas decorating. And then to watch it on such a massive scale and possibly to hear little stories about what's going on with that.. delightful!

Yes, I know that there is a show on Disney plus that covers some of this. But to be there watching it.. that would be a dream come true.

Epcot typically does not start Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. Food & Wine goes until 11/20, then they have to switch over from that to the International Festival of the Holidays, which starts on 11/26. You might get lucky and see the Living with the Land overlay live before 11/26, but I would not count on it.

HS has been really early putting decor up. Epcot is slower, it doesn't all turn up until the day after Thanksgiving, you usually see bits and pieces like garlands in the WS going up first.

there used to be a Yule tour that visited the holiday warehouse where they store and work on the decorations. it's over behind MK somewhere.
