Christmas Shopping 2010

We went to TRU to pick up Toy Story 3 and Mater's Tall Tales today and while there I managed to buy the new Cars Christmas pack of 3 figures to sock away for DS3. Came home and had 2 boxes from TRU online with the big Nerf Guns for DSS6 and DSS9. :thumbsup2

I told DH that I want to go ahead and get wrapping paper and get thing wrapped now!

Yay! Bought my Wii today. I bought the red one (I'm such a fashionista) and a couple of games and books for my kiddos. A few clothing items and they are done! They get enough "stuff" from their grandparents, so I don't feel so guilty about getting them pjs for Christmas. Just had to share.

Sorry about the drama, Ed.

Cool for the red Wii! I see they are coming out with a red Nintendo DSi also.

Target has Wii games on sale buy 2 get 1 free (and amazon is doing it too). I went to Target today to get Toy Story 3 and Cars Toon. So I also bought 2 Wii games I got last week and a 3rd one free then I returned the 2 I already had at home as I walked out the door. Last week I got Wii Resort with the motion plus and Wii Play with the remote-both were $49 so I got Kirby's Epic Yarn today for free.

I still need more remotes-my SIL gave us the Wii for Christmas last year and we only have the 1 remote. I am going to wait until the new remotes with the motion plus built in come out next week.

If anyone is looking...Target has Ni Hao Kai-Lan Leapster game on sale for $12.74 and I think the Cars Leapster game is also $12.74.

I am almost positive I am 99% finished with DS (age 6):

Santa (what he is specifically asking from him):
Paper Jamz guitar (I got the strap for free from Toys R Us) also 19.99
Paper Jamz drums and Paper Jamz amp

Stocking:
Mighty Beanz 10 pk and ramp
Toy Story Basic Action Figures (all of them...I think)
Movies: Toy Story 3, How to Train Your Dragon, Leap Frog Volume 1 Set
Harry Potter Wii Game, LeapFrog Kindergarten Game

My DH & I:
Lego Table
(we bought a train table and plan to glue on the lego base plates)

Lego Sets (he only has 1 car, 1 airplane, and a box of assorted legos. He likes to follow the plans to build)
Large: Indiana Jones Temple Escape (the one he asked for - he LOVES this scene in the movie), Winter Village, Pig Farm
Small: tractor, horse trailer, farmer, camper, sports car, police car, city house, fire truck, cannon battle, santa and sleigh

The only other thing he *may* get is another pillow pet and books.

Hello all!! Well, I ordered DDs AG stuff!!!:yay: I totally forgot about something she wanted and she reminded me yesterday: a new cd player for her room...last year I got the Princess CD player that was also a jewelry box--it didn't last long and she was extremely careful with it...so I HAVE to get that. Santa for sure!!! So...a few little things for stockings, and I am done with my kids.
Now, my eldest has a birthday in Dec so I gotta go do that too!!:rotfl:

:santa: is done shopping for my dds!

dd(11) Ipod touch

My kids receive 5 gifts from us:

Something they want: dd(11) Monster High dolls dd(14) have to figure out something for this.
Something they need: They always get a new towel and goggles. (swim team)
Something to wear: boots for both

Something from my heart: Oysters with the pearls. Wanted to do it at disney, but ran out of time. :scared1:

DH is done a football jersey and a couple of movies.

My inlaws: a photo book of our trip to Disney plus some Disney ornaments.

My Mom a gift certificate to get her hair done.

I took DS9 and DS who will be three on Nov 29 to TRU to do the Wish List so family can look it up online. Today going to go buy the Imaginarium train table with the train set that is on sell for $129.99, then I have the coupon to get 20% off one item, this will be a Santa gift for DS3. Since his birthday is this month we got him the new dancing Mickey Mouse and some books to go with the Toy Story Leapster Junior Tag that my Dad is getting him. Santa gift for DS9 will be some motion thingy for PS3. Now that I have a list of things they want I will be watching the sale like a hawk. Now what to get for my FIL that wants for nothing so hard to buy for.

I got my order from Toys r Us yesterday. I got my nephew who is 6 a Nerf gun and refill darts. Then for my monster...

DD9
Csi DNA Kit
Battleship
Monopoly Chocolate
Monster High Fear Journal
Monster High Slippers
Monster High Black and Pink Bag
and a free Monster High Cosmetic Box. See a theme here, lol!

I already have a few other things for her, including the Monster High Draculaura doll which I searched everywhere for. I called stores over and over to see if they had one and no one ever did. My sis and I were at Toys R Us and she yelled to me,who was not even that close to her," is this the one?" I about died. I yelled yes grab it and she yelled back, I already did, its in my hand! lol It was so funny, but darn it I have been looking for that doll for weeks! :rotfl:

My youngest is about done and may just get the Little Mommy doll and Rocking Horse TRU has on sale.

My dd7 has hardly anything! I have got to get busy on her! Good news is that I am driving half way down to NC, (we are meeting in Virginia) to see my hubby who has been out of town for work Since September, to Christmas shop together. I miss him soooo much and can't wait to see him. I plan on trying to get alot done tomorrow.

I ordered my Mom a salt lamp thats supposed to make negative ions which are supposed to clean the air in a room. She always likes that kind of stuff.

I am making progress! Yea! I can't WAIT to decorate!!!!

My DH & I:
Lego Table
(we bought a train table and plan to glue on the lego base plates)

We did this for our son's birthday a few years ago. He had an old train table that was just sitting there. We got the green base plates so it looked more like grass. To cut them we just used a box knife on the back. We used liquid nail to put them down and weighted them just to make sure they didn't bubble up while drying. We also used a 4 nub lego at all the corners to make sure they were close enough while we glued. It is incredible. It has been played wit everyday! My kids LOVE it.

We also got a plain box of legos and spelled out "Happy Birthday Nick" with them over the whole table.

I love this idea. I may have to use it for my DS next birthday, especially the "Happy Birthday " spelled out with legos.

I have 3 little princessed (one is a tomboy, though and LOVES Buzz!)

She wanted the fancy Buzz that lights up and talks..it was $50 at Target but Disneystore.com had one that was very similiar and lots of bells and whistles for $24.99, they also had Jessie and Woody that talk and they both wanted them. They were also $24.99 and I got $5 shipping.

My oldest wants the Barbie Dream House (or as she calls it "Ken's dream house"...that's what it's called in Toy Story 3). I'm hoping to get it for less than $150. Amazon has it right now for $129, I really don't want to pay more than $100. It may have to be for her birthday and Christmas from us. Her birthday is Dec. 13.

I love the idea of the Wishlist at Toys R Us....my family is constantly calling me at Christmas time and asking what to get, what they are already have, what if someone bought that for them, etc.

Just bought a boatload of gifts from amazon before they raise prices for the holiday season. I am so glad I got this out of the way early!:cool1:

Managed to get some AG books for DD10 today from Micheals, some trunks that look alot like the AG trunks from Hobby Lobby for about $4 each for DD10 and DD6 and also got a art supply set from Target to go with AG dolls for DD6. Now my DD10 tells me she needs to make a new list because she no longer wants all of what she asked for and wants different things! Good thing I have not bought her much off her list yet and what I have bought can be given to the my DD6 for her AG dolls.

DBF's DD6 has recently told him she wants AG stuff. I'm very nervous about getting it because I'm worried she won't take care of it....IDK, what do you think? She loves dolls, but it's a lot of money if it's going to get ruined, ya know?

I would love to take her to the AG store one weekend to just look around with her, I think it'd be fun! Do they have the "make a list" feature that TRU has?

Her older sister (8) DBF doesn't want to get AG stuff for, saying that she might not take care of it (she's special needs). What could I get her that's similar? They both already have dolls, but she doesn't really play with them. Suggestions?

I thought I had it all planned out, that's what I get for trying to plan while visiting parents :rotfl:

Target sells a line of dolls and accessories that are very similar to AG, but a lot less expensive. Maybe that would be an option. I believe they are called Our Generation or My Generation. I've bought some accessories from there and they are okay. Some are the same and some are a bit lesser in quality (like the little table for a tea party).

So I was glad I started early this year (in september) I usually don't start until after Halloween. BUT, it seems like my lists are getting longer and more things for my kids are being added. So not sure if starting early is a money saver for me. :lmao: Mindflex, the video air hog, and the IXL have all been put on my shopping list tonight. 3 pretty pricey items I wasn't planning on. I know TRU is having good deals on all of that right now, but I have to order 3 American girl dolls first. :santa:

I do LOVE Christmas shopping!!!!!

The video air hog (hawk eye) is totally worth it. Well, let me expand on it. One - the price is coming down a little bit with all the holiday competition (easier to find at ~50 than 60 as it was) and it's not bad at all.

I did some hands on with it.

Things to know :

- It's just like the old indoor helicopters for the most part. So, if you have mastered it, you'll be great with it. If not, then you will have to learn how to control them

- It doesn't do audio

- It IS fun and, for the price, the video (and stills) it takes is pretty decent.

- It shows up on the computer as a camera so you just pull the images right off... Very simple. Works on a Mac or Windows.

So, overall... If you aren't deterred by the price, its a great buy. Its fun. The plane is more of a styrofoam material than the traditional plastic.

Hey Ed,

I'm looking for some night vision goggles for my sons (age 11 &8). I want the kind that strap onto their heads, not the binocular type. You can't shoot and reload nerf guns when you have to hold the goggles with your hands!!:rotfl: Anything good out there? Eyeclops?

I looked at your website and didn't see any reviews on them.

Yea... I actually was helping someone out with this not too long ago.

If you are going to get one, just make sure you get one of the newer models. They are "dual" eye rather than just one. A good choice is the current Jakks Pacific one in their Spy Net Line Night Vision Goggles.

I forget who it was that asked but I *DID* get a chance to do a hands on with moon sand construction set. I was very pleasantly surprised! The stuff actually sticks together and is very usable. Very!!

If you get the base set, you many find that you need more parts to have more fun (accessories etc), but, what toy isn't like that :)

But yea, totally worth the price of admission and a good choice if you kids are looking at it! It really actually packs like they show in the commercial.

I'll also be checking out the newer Moon Dough lines. Never using Moon Dough before, but, seeing the commercials.. I have to imagine it's a similar (if not the same) material as Moon Sand.

And the tron toys.. VERY cool. Some of the adult collector style toys are HUGE and pretty heavy duty. Again, good for the "really" big kid in the family :)

Sorry I've not been around as much, but, I wanted to take a breather and didn't want to cause any unnecessary crazies here.

Hope that helps!

The Air Hogs sounds really cool. My DS wanted that for Christmas but I was deterred by the price for what it is....I did get him the night vision binoculars and I got him a digital voice recorder that I think he'll really like-he's been bugging me to borrow an old tape recorder I have.

Thanks again for the advice on the binoculars. They arrived today and look really cool!

Did you get the Target toy catalog? Got some good ideas from there. DD1 mentioned that Loopz game and then I saw a few possibilities for DD2. Coupons in the catalog are good until Nov. 24. Now I'll just have to figure when to go pick up stuff. Maybe next week if I can swing it.

I was researching the Kindle and came across the Pandigital Novel 7" Color Multimedia eReader does anyone have any info or opinions on it?
