Christmas Party - YES or NO??

We are attending the MVMCP for the first time on December 16th. So, I can't tell you how great it is...what I can say is that all the times our family has visited WDW, we have never experienced anything that isn't worth doing at least once. Bottom Line: if you've never done it, I would highly recommend it...only reason why is because you never have!!!

Excellent point!! We were so thankful that we did the Halloween Party too :) I say we try it, at least once :)

Assuming you're not going to be there after the last MVMCP ends, attending the MVMCP is the only way to see the Christmas Parade, see Holiday Wishes from within the park, see Celebrate the Season (forecourt stage show), and experience "snow" in the MK. My family went when we were there several years ago and it was a lot of fun. As SCDisneyfanatic said, it's worth going at least once!

Sell me on this event if you please <3
Depends on how late you can stay. We did it, and it was nice, but my kid was 3 and was wiped out by 9:30 so we left after seeing the parade. I'd do it again though, when she's a bit older.

Mixed review here: I agree that everyone should go at least once. With that said, I have been to 4 MVMCPs since 2004. One was PACKED (early December) and miserably crowded. One had almost no crowds and the other two were so-so.

You CANNOT go there expecting low crowds and no lines. The time I went that was so horrible I waited 45 min in Tomorrowland just for a beverage. Main Street was all but impassable it was so crowded.

In 2010 Cosmic Rays was so crowded there was NO seating to be had. Main Street was again packed, but ride waits were 20-30 min.

I now aim for every 2-3 years. The hot cocoa is straight out of "just add hot water" mix and to me is NOTHING special at all and the cookies are pre-made, boxed variety. Not bad, but not "Boardwalk quality." For what Disney (now) charges for this event and for what perks they have taken away, I had hoped for better quality in what remained.....

So if it is in your budget and you have never been, I would say to give it a try! If your budget is tight or your kids are very young, my vote would be to save your money.

Excellent review JD - my kids are older and we have never been so we are gonna give it a try :) Thanks everyone!!

I have been to 3 MVMCP and I love the special parade and fireworks. Luckily each of the parties we went to the crowds died down towards the end of the party and rides were walk on. I definitely wouldn't expect this but it is a nice perk when it happens. Overall it's a wonderful experience to try at least once. Main street is gorgeous at night with the Castle lit and snow falling. The characters have their Christmas attire on and special characters like the 7 dwarfs are available for photos.
