I was just reading that the parade that is shown on :santa: xmas morning is accutually taped in early Dec? I s that right, have I been dooped into thinking that we were going to go on Xmas morning and see this wonderful parade with stars and all? If anyone knows about this please let me know! My DD is heartbroken that she won't be seeing BIG STARS (she is 13) and now is not wanting to go! :sad2:

Sorry to say but it's true - the parade they show on tv on Christmas morning is not live, it's taped. Last year it was taped on Dec 1st and 2nd.

Disney usually will list the dates of taping. They do it on a few different days during Nov. and Dec. and then they put it all together on one show.

We were there last year for the Taping on December 1st or 2nd (can't remember which day). I never realized it was taped prior to xmas...but excited that I was there for it. I got pictures of all the camera equipment and stuff..pretty neat. :)

You'll still get to see the parade on Christmas Day, they just won't be taping it. The TV version is always pre-taped. (Just think - a live parade broadcast would require Regis and Kelly to spend Christmas away from home!)

I always wondered about that- Kelly having kids and all and being such a mom. I dont know why I never thought about it being taped :rolleyes1

Last December we walked into MK right after a major rainstorm. The park was empty. As we entered the hub the music started, then Beyonce came down the castle steps singing. About 50-100 people were scattered around close to the ropes while cameras panned the crowd. We thought for sure we'd be able to see ourselves on TV Christmas morning, but with the magic of computers there was a wild crowd of people filling the hub during the televised version! Still laughing about that one. We very much enjoyed the show though. After that it started raining again and I think that's all they were able to tape that day.

:lmao: Thats so funny!

Well I'll be Joe Bob!! Here I thought I knew EVERYTHING!! I am just gonna pretend that I never read this thread and happily watch the LIVE parade on Christmas morning :happytv:

Kind of disheartening, isn't it? I found that one out this past Christmas too. Makes sense though, but a bummer its not really a live thing-at least not on Christmas. :sad1:

So are there still stars there? or is it just the ordinary parade that is there every other day?
another question off subject, is there a way besides cab that you can go to universal and seaworld from wdw?:fish:

Michael Bolton was there the day we went. And it's a special parade. Different from the usual parades.

We were there last year for the taping Dec.2 I belive. It was a Saturday. Was pretty neat to be there. You will still get to see a parade on xmas day though. Just probobly won't be with all the Real Life Stars..but Santa, and they Disney Gang will surley be there.

Oooh... I'm sorry for the OP's daughter who will be disappointed, but I'm kind of excited as we'll be at the park in Early December this year. I wonder if we'll get to see the actual parade. Is it filmed during the MVMCP or is it in the park? How do you find out? That would be fun. :)

So Now that I know there isn't a BIG parade I know there is one though, so does anyone know what time it is at so I can plan my ARD's around it? Is it at normal parade time in the afternoon or do they have a morning one for xmas morning?
Thanks Everyone

When I called my mother one CHristmas morning (she lives near Disney) and said to here, oh we are watching the parade---looks like you have beautiful weather for Christmas Morning. She replied, It's 45 degress and pouring rain :lmao: :lmao:

That's what I was thinking on Christmas morning! I live in central FL, on the west coast, and we were watching the parade. I knew that it was taped, but it was funny to watch because it was a BEAUTIFUL day on TV, but it was grey and raining in FL that day.:rotfl2:
