I would like to go down for when they actually shot the parade for tv-w hich day is that?

According to the Passholder site today it was Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3.

thanks.. I don't have my AP with me to check the site at work. Does it say what time?

Time all day long, no kidding.Reeks havoc on MK traffic patterns if your not there to see it avoid MK.They film a 30 second portion, then move 30 feet forwards or backwards this seems to take 45 minutes then film another 30 second clip, you get the idea. :goodvibes :wave2: :wizard:

I not 100% sure, but I think you need to go to the passholder web site, to make reservations, and the Saturday taping was full.

We signed up for the Friday session and will be extras for the taping. I know when I signed up last week, Saturday was filled. Not sure if they are still taking requests. The website will say.

If you are at the MK you will be welcomed to stay and participate in the crowd scenes. They make announcements every so often telling you that the parade is being taped and you can stand and watch.

Hope you don't mind if I steal your thread, but could someone please explain all of this for me. We have always been to Disney in October during the Halloween festivities. Next year we would like to go for the Christmas festivities. Looking at going the week after Thanksgiving. If I understand currectly, that next weekend is when they tape the parade.

Is being an extra for annual passholders only?

What do you do if you are an extra? Is it worth it?

Is the park open during these days for regular guests or is it closed for these tapings?

If regular guests are still allowed in the park, do we just have to stay away from certain spots where they are taping?

Thanks in advance for any info

Disney does not actually announce when they will shoot the Christmas Day parade until a few weeks ahead of time. Historically, it seems to have been around the first weekend in December. Let me answer some of your questions:

No...absolutely not. Not just AP's are allowed to the taping. This is just one of the marketing segments to get the word out. We signed up directly with the company who organizes the shoot:

Being an extra is a lot of standing around, like being an extra for anything. It looks like there are 4 different time slots, which you will be generally coralled for a period of hours, and they will be filming individual spots and crowd scenes. Many people enjoy the opportunity, others, especially with small children, may find the waiting around hard. There is no guarantee you will ever actually be seen on Christmas Day.

The park is open as normal to guest, but certain areas may be closed or diverted to accomodate filming needs.

Areas that are being used for filming will be roped off as needed by the production crew.

Good luck.

Thank You so much, you answered all of my questions. :goodvibes

We were there 2001 when they were taping.
What a crazy mad house.
Take G I had park hoppers.
We got the H out of Dodge.
Had a great day @ Epcot.
If you can get the schedule of where & when they are taping get it.
Also ran into this mess the day we went to MGM.
To each their own I prefer to avoid it.

The parade is broadcast on the ABC network, on Christmas Day. Show times vary by time zone.

I do not believe that this is streamed online, but I may be wrong.
