Christmas parade taping

Side note, it usually takes 2 days to tape with 1 day of stage performances and 1 day or parade (if they do everything the same) and it usually is a floating set of 4 days in the news as it has to be good and matching weather for consistency. I think nov12 is somethign else.

If I am not mistaken last year they taping dates were Nov 10-13. That video was posted Nov 11th. Possible parade was taped on the 10th tree went up at night of 10th after taping?

No. The parade portion was taped on the 13th. My CM friend had to fly out of CA on the 12th to be at MK early on the 13th for the parade float taping.

So this could be good news for all the people with Christmas Party tickets in November.

Yes, definitely good news if ABC was happy with taping everything at ground level. :)

November 12 is blocked out for CM to bring in family and friends, which is odd.

If it is related to taping, I find it even more odd that it would be on a Saturday. Production events seem to generally take place during the week when crowds are lower. But maybe this year they are hoping to make the park seem busier?

The parade has a previous long history of being recorded on Fri. and Sat. (and if needed, Sun,)
with the "parade" portion nearly aways taped on Sat.

Any new guesses? We are going the week after Thanksgiving. I am nervous until I see what eeek it is.

The reason the tree was up last year was because of the 60th at DLR, all of the shoot was at WDW and was "primarily" done in the HUB and on Main St. and they did not do the "long shots" from Town Sq. and to the north. Taping was done far differently than the normal because of the format change.

As regards 2016, nothing announced as yet for dates or format.

It used to always be Saturday when Regis & Kelly were hosts since their TV show was Monday to Friday.

Yes it was for sure Fri Nov 13th last year - I was there as well. We walked into MK and there were at least 100 storm troopers on Main St. It was awesome!

On a side note - other than Main St., you can't really tell there is parade taping going on in MK. It wasn't busy at all, really no big deal.

I agree.
Actually, not really a "side note," but the MAIN note.

There's not much reason to sweat the parade-taping day(s.)
It does not negatively affect the reason that 99% of guests go to MK.

The attractions will be just fine until mid-late afternoon... after the taping is concluded.
And, even then, much of the parade-watcher crowd is made up of WDW CMs, and they don't necessarily want to ride attractions that day, anyway.

No need to worry about the parade day(s.)

My husband was part of the 501st that day!

I may have a picture of him lol. It was super cool to walk into the park and see all of the Star Wars characters. We were celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday and she's a huge Star Wars fan so she loved it.

We love the 501st - the Great Lakes Region was at the premier of the Force Awakens and we had the best time taking pictures and interacting with them.

So hopefully this year it really shouldn't be any different and the tree will be up from the beginning.

Except the tree normally isn't up from the beginning - normally it doesn't go up until after the parade taping, which is normally the first weekend in December. (Yeah, I know, I said "normally" three times. So sue me. ;)) Or are you talking about it not being different from last year, which was definitely not typical.
