Hi everyone,

DH, DD (1), DM and I would like to visit MK on Dec. 2, not realizing it was the Christmas Parade taping. We really just wanted to walk around and go on a few rides.

Would it be too crowded for us? Would they even let us in? When would the parade be over? DH and I have APs while DM would need a ticket.

Thanks for your help! :thumbsup2

They will let you in, just avoid Main Street where the taping takes place and you should be fine. I'm not sure how long the taping lasts, perhaps another poster can answer that question :confused3

I've read that the taping lasts till around 2pm. We also are going to try this day to hit some rides, so will get there at opening and leave early afternoon. If it's too bad, then we'll take off for another park for the day.
Enjoy!

Might be a good day for the rides, if not go to another park.

If you can by pass all the events of the taping, (an not get interested), I think it would be a good time to take advantage by doing the rides, everyone will be interested in whats going on with the parade taping. :cool1:

What is the best way to avoid it ... ????? Through the stores and to the lands???? Or which way?????? Is there taping on Sunday too ??????

We were there last year on the Sat of taping, early, when the park opened - we went right up to the train platform and rode over to Splash/BTMRR (Main St was already mobbed with 'extras' who had special passes for the taping and got in before opening) - then we walked the loop around, doing the rides with little wait times. By late morning the back of the park was becoming crowded and the lines were building. People who get the free taping passes get into the park for the whole day with no other ticket required - there were two sets of taping times - early morning until noon, then noon until early afternoon - as the morning extras were being replaced by the afternoon extras, they were coming onto the rides (plus I'm sure many of them were just getting tired of standing). By the time we ate lunch, we decided to head out of the park for the day - and the lines for extras to get in were still huge! So if you get there early and head straight to the rides, you should get a few good hours in :thumbsup2 - it was lots of fun to watch the 'goings on' from a distance - got to see lots of the characters and floats as they were waiting on the 'sidelines' to join the parade and be taped. :smooth:

I was there two years ago and it was an impossible mob scene. Just getting up main Street and to anohter land was a 30 minute ordeal. Longish lines everywhere. Horribly long lines for food. _I_ wouldn't do it.
