I have read on the Boards that the Christmas Parade may be taped during our quick trip Nov.30-Dec. 2. :santa: Anyone know anything about this? If these are the dates, is the MK open as usual? I suppose it could be a great time to ride everything with no waits:goodvibes Any info would be great!

I had the "pleasure" of attending the taping of the parade a few years back. Tons and tons of people attend this day. Getting down main street is a challenge. Yes the majority of the people spend it watching the taping until they get bored (it stops and starts and stops again for various reasons) and then they hit the rides.
I did enjoy an hour or so of line free riding, but as the day progressed so did the waiting and the people. I swore I would never go there the day of taping again, instead I would hit a differant park and enjoy the line free riding there instead!

If you do plan on attending - get there early! The hordes start lining up well before rope drop.

Stay away!!!!

If you happen upon a taping and it's not too crowded, by all means, stop and enjoy the show (while it lasts). Usually performers will get in the middle of their song and quit because they didn't like the way something sounded. But don't let the taping schedule rule the vacation. Go and enjoy the rides.

I will avoid MK on the tapping day.

Back in December 2005 we went to MK unaware that they were taping the Christmas Parade (Saturday 12/03/05) - we weren't even sure what was happening when we got inside but Main Street was all roped off & crowds of people were everywhere! We asked a cast member what was going on & we were told that they were taping the Christmas Parade, we were directed through the stores to get inside the park, you could not use the sidewalks - it was very busy but, because everyone was watching the parade we just walked onto all the rides - it was great - no waiting at Space, Splash, Big Thunder etc. The only time we really had a hard time was trying to get something to eat at MK - lines were just too long because of the crowd level, but, after we were done riding the rides we just headed over to Epcot to eat.

I think they do the taping the first weekend in December - not sure if it changes year to year but, it was definintely the first weekend in December of 2005.

I hope you have a great time - definitely my favorite time of the year - everything is decorated so beautifully. If you get a chance do some resort hopping to see the different decorations at each resort. :)
