I'm sure this has been asked, but my search didn't turn it up (as a side note - how do you search just one forum?).

For those who've cruised on a Christmas-overlapping sailing, do they do anything different on the ship for Christmas? I know they do decorate the ship, but I guess I'm wondering whether there's anything else unique. We were considering one of the Christmas sailings this year, but were wondering if there was anything unique or different that came from actually being onboard on Christmas day.

Our Disney Dream cruise in 2015 was over Christmas.
Yes, the ship is decorated beautifully , and they also had a Santa meet and greet. There is a small gingerbread house in the lobby and gingerbread house making activity.
On Christmas eve, you could collect milk and cookies from the lobby to put out for Santa. We got a very nice lithograph and a box of chocolates in our room one night.

We have been on several Christmas cruises. The things that are specific to only the cruise that is on Christmas day is all kids will get a gift from Santa (like a calendar), the milk and cookies to set up the night before, they had a spread of breakfast items in the lobby (if a sea day) and there is a special dinner (turkey, dressing or ham and then of course other choices). And then all the other things reference above

Yeah, we cruised on a New Years Eve cruise and the decorations were still up including a gingerbread house, about 5 feet by 5 feet. The last day of our cruise we were standing in line to get off the ship as two burly men with hammers were tearing the gingerbread house down.

We were on a 11 night Christmas cruise on the Magic in 2010. Great decorations and tree, Santa, fun decorations at Castaway Cay, the gingerbread house, and each stateroom received a limited edition lithograph. The artist was onboard, and staterooms had opportunities to meet him and get it signed. :-)

We went on a Merrytime cruise the first week it started in November 2019.

I would avoid the first week, as not all the decorations are up yet, like Gingerbread house.
