Christmas/New Years Week 2016 Tips

Hi everyone. I just have a couple of questions if anyone could help me out.

1) My Dad and I are staying at the Polynesian from Dec. 24-Jan. 1. If we plan on going to the Magic Kingdom, but have reservations at Ohana for dinner on Christmas Eve, will we be able to get back into the Magic Kingdom in the evening or does it tend to have closures on Christmas Eve?

2) Do closures usually happen at other parks during this week like Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, or Disney's Hollywood Studios? I was at WDW on the 4th of July and everyone seemed to be surprised that none of the parks experiences a closure.

3) Does the Christmas Parade at the MK have an evening showing at all during that week, or do they just run it during the afternoon? Disney hasn't added any of their christmas shows to the daily schedule yet online.

4) Does Illuminations have FP viewing on New Years Eve?

Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm trying to plan my vacation itinerary before the fastpass+ window opens up later in October.

We were there from Dec 23rd to Dec 27th last year, so I can comment on Christmas, but not New Years.

I would guess you can get into MK on Christmas Eve, but don't be surprised if you can't. Christmas Day was nuts. We were there by 9am and left at 1pm, and they had already closed it.

The other parks don't reach max capacity, so they will stay open.

You don't need FP+ for Illuminations, even on a holiday. The viewing area is so expansive that you can easily find a spot, even right before the show. My recommendation would be to use your FP+ for something else.

Thank you so much for your insight.

I'm just wondering if anyone can answer any of the other questions in my first post. Any helps appreciated. I'm trying to plan my December trip, but Disney is slow getting the entertainment schedule up.
