Christmas/New Year 2008/09

We are going to Disney the 29th of December 2008 thru Jan. 7th 2009. Now I know that they will not have the MVMCP going on on these dates, however I wondered when do they take the decorations down? We were hoping to get to see those. Also which park would be the best for New Years Eve?

the decorations stay up until the middle of Jan.

you don't have MVMCP - because that is now the Christmas parade which you will see.

you realize the place will be packed?

I would go to Epcot on NY eve - just because it is the biggest park with the most room.

They will start taking down the decorations around the time you leave on the 7th, if it is like other years.

We have spent many NYEs at WDW and always spent it at Epcot. There is a lot of space there and yet it is still very crowded, so I cannot begin to imagine what it is like at MGM or MK, crowd wise! There are two fireworks shows that night, an earlier one for families who want to leave, and then an enormous one leading up to midnight. There are also special bands and activities all over world showcase all evening. Don't forget to get a glass of champagne in France before the midnight countdown!
