(Christmas) Lights, Decorations, Action…..A Post-Christmas PTR (update 12/22-page 42)

We did have post offices- and they actually worked pretty well- they were very good at looking through every piece of mail that came to us; thorough they were!!!

Yeah for Double Digits!

Thanks Vanessa! It now doesn't seem like the trip is so far away. Can't wait until it is single digits though!!! :thumbsup2

It must be so comforting to know that someone was culling out all that junk mail for you!!! Kinda gives new meaning to that little message on the outside of the envelope......"You have been pre-screened...."

Joining in on the double digits dance! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay:

Where in SC do you live? My brother moved to Columbia earlier this year and just bought a house in Chapin (which I think is a suburb of Columbia?).

Just stopping in to say HAPPY DOUBLE DIGIT DAY before I head down to the pool for awhile. :)

Thanks for the D3! Yes, Chapin is outside of Columbia, but not sure you would call it a suburb. Anyway, we are about 1.5 to 2 hours west, on the other side of Anderson.

Not sure which is worse, you rubbing it in or giving away answers to the Marco Island quiz..... :rotfl2:

I thought you weren't doing a Marco Island quiz??? I can tell you we had a HUGE surprise tonight after dinner (and Nicki can't play...because she knows all about it). :rolleyes1

I'm really not. I told Nicki it would be boring, pretty much the same general questions each day; cup of coffee, sunning, etc. You just happened to hit one of the expected daily activities......at the pool, out getting sun! :confused3

BTW, I tried to score the quizzes. It is a very close race. I need some answers you left out. You said a Minnie balloon, but I asked everyone to guess color. If it was a mylar, just tell me what the predominant color it was, in your mind. Also, I had a question you missed about whether you took the right or left entrance when you did POTC.

Also, my intention about what time you left MK to head to Marco Island was when you left the park itself. You said 3:15 leaving the parking lot, but do you have an idea when you left MK itself? popcorn::

Hope you're having a great time!!! :cool1:

It was a mylar balloon -- mostly silver. Left entrance for POTC and we left the MK at 3:00 p.m. sharp.

We're having a great time. Saw lots of dolphins today; had a "nice surprise" and are doing dinner at a Hibachi restaurant tomorrow night with Nicki and Todd.

As promised, here are a very few pictures of our last New Year's trip we took to WDW. As I've said before, it was supposed to be relaxing trip to enjoy the holiday sights and sounds around the Disney parks and properties, but ended up being a commando style trip. Looking back, it is hard to believe just how FEW pictures I have where you know it was actually around the Christmas holidays.

A couple pictures of the Christmas tree outside of Animal Kingdom

And some shots during the Jingle Jungle parade earlier that day

It's a little bit difficult getting into the Christmas spirit when you can wear shorts and t-shirts at a christmas parade. In a picture I know Jordan would appreciate, here are my two oldest "waiting" in the warm sun for the parade to start.....

All of my pictures from the Osborne Family Festival of Lights were taken on my cell phone. I guess I need to try and get those uploaded where I can post them sometime. Of course, when I get back from this trip, I hope to have lots and lots of pictures full of Christmas decorations at the parks, and some of the resorts to share.

Actually, I think I have more pictures on the computer, but just haven't uploaded them to Photobucket so I can post them. I'll have to check that later. In the mean time, I know I've posted this picture before, but it is one of my favorites, so here it is again!

Next update I plan to start detailing more of our plans for the days of our trip.

I love seeing the parks decorated for Christmas!

You have to take more pictures this year.

Certainly the goal!!! :) The boys can have their commando time this trip if they like, but DW and I plan to take it really slow! Of course, I will have to ride EE, RnR, Space Mtn (closed last trip) and TSMM at least once while we're there.

hmmm doesnt seem to be much mischieve on here since i havent posted in a few days...does that mean im the problem and not the solution.
:confused3

Nobody has been here to help me in that area! With you, Glenn and Rosie off doing something else........ :rolleyes1 I'm thinking you're maybe a little of both!!! :lmao:

Those two would normally be that way too. I didn't even pay the bottle any attention. I'm guessing it was probably water since it got rather warm that afternoon. They found a small patch of shade to lay in. They weren't exactly happy when we woke them up as the parade started!

I vote "Problem"!

Nice pictures Marvin. I noticed the water bottle and thought that was pretty clever. Yes, we need more pictures following this next trip.

Love the Christmas photos at AKL and, of course, the parade. One of these days we'll get there at Christmas.

However, Marv, I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting some PLANS on this update. I mean, I've been gone six days and that is all you came up with? :rolleyes1

Isn't it funny how we are all diplomatic only when we are responding to people in our own threads?? :rotfl2:

Trying to go commando with Andrew's BFF, it was just easier not to have to deal with the camera much. When I did, it was usually to get pictures of him for his family to enjoy and him to have. Don't feel comfortable posting those online, although I'll probably post some later showing backs of heads.

This time around, it will be all about taking in all the sights, and using the camera!:thumbsup2

Kathy, you ninja poster! I've still got three months. Can't roll out all the info too quickly or the last 2 and a half months will see a lot of cobwebs growing on this thread!!! :rotfl2:

I'm guessing you are wanting to get an early start with the quiz questions for taking over my thread while I'm gone???

Hey, I dragged mine on, so you can too.

Yes, I want an early start on PAYBACK. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
