I definitely prefer multicolored lights, both inside and out. And I'm more inclined to ooh and ahh over houses that decorate outside with colored lights rather than all white. All white is...nice, but boring.

I'm also not a huge fan of LED Christmas lights...until LED can truly capture the warmth of traditional incandescent lights, I'll stick with incandescent.

We're mostly multicolored, with some white icicle lights outside (as well as the big old multicolored lights). Our tree is a variety of large and small colored and novelty strings, some ancient from DH's grandmother. I do have a 3 ft fake tree with all white lights in our entry hall however.

We have the 9ft Costco tree and love it. Some days I prefer the clear lights, other days I like the multi! I think the clear goes better with our decorations (kind of Winter Wonderland/Santa's Forest themed) but multi is just so festive.

I chose other because I end up with both white lights and colored lights on my tree. I love the look of white lights, but DH insists on colored lights. We compromise with both on the same tree.

I voted "other" because I love both. So, we have a real tree in one room with the old fashioned, c6 colored bulbs (LED now) and a large fake tree with white mini lights in another room.

View attachment 137952 View attachment 137951 I have a tree from Costco that has an option for both. I've always been hard core colored lights for years, but with this tree, I find myself reverting back to the white setting. They're LED lights and I love the colors, but the white is gorgeous too. And it's not the cold white, it's a warm white. View attachment 137951

Same thing we did this year....I insisted on colored lights and we got the dual lights---and prefer the white after all these years of colored lights

I like both white and colored, depending on the circumstances. But not both at the same time. Houses with several different types of lights outside are not my cup of tea. Just looks jumbled to me.

Most importantly though, if you use white, then pick one white! Outside my work, there are a ton of trees and they are lit for the holidays. They are all white. But some are white white and some are yellow white. Not even like white white for one type of tree and yellow white for another type. Nope. Just thrown together with no rhyme or reason. Looks bad. It bugs me.

My tree came with clear lights and we add a string or two of colored to it. The more lights, the better! The ones I got to go on the outside of the house are multicolored. I used to like the white "icicle" lights when they first came out but I have decided I prefer the multicolored ones now.

Multi colored. I find all white to be bland and boring. I like fun and festive.

White on tree inside. Outside what ever color I want them to be at the time. Red, white and blue on Dec 7.

I prefer clear/white

The rest of the family prefers colored.

Before we moved, we had a big house with cathedral ceilings and a two-story ceiling in the family room. I had a 7-foot tree in the living room with clear lights. The kids/DH had a tree in the family room with colored.

Now we live in a house the size of a cracker-jack box (sigh...stupid cost of living in this state!) and only one 6-foot tree. They vote colored lights every year.

Our prelit is colored lights. I have white lights on our mantel. White lights outside.

I wasn't with DH went he bought the tree in 2012 to replace the tree we had. He went with the tree height and style he liked, but said he didn't notice that it was with white/clear bulbs. Nope, no way, no how is that gonna work. I add 3 C7 60 count light strands to it. I can't wait for the white/clear lights to go out, so I can cut them off and do away with them. I like colored lights and lots of them.

We do white lights(except for Mickey in the window) and my husband (he's a saint) complies with my wish that they be as straight as possible.

We painted the door red this year so (IMO) it looks even better.

I grew up with colored lights, my husband grew up with white lights. So it was quite an "argument" when it came to our first Christmas together as to what color lights were on the tree. I won. :santa: And it continued like that for many years. I think we've had white lights MAYBE 2 times since we've lived together (23 years).....see, I compromise. LOL

Then last year he bought a new tree that was pre-lit and it has both the colored AND the white lights. And I have to say I really like having both, together. Also growing up I was NOT a fan of blinking lights, of course....he was. Needless to say, we had solid lights also most of the 23 years we've lived together (I'm sensing a pattern) But this tree is blinking lights with both the colored and white lights and probably is one of my favorites.

I just bought a new tree this year. I like white lights while DH likes multi colored. The tree alternates between both so we each get what we want. It also can be all white or all multi.
