Who's going to be at FW during Christmas week. We're going to be there Dec. 23rd to Jan. 2nd. I was thinking that we could post some of the things that our sites will be decorated with, so fellow Disers would know where we were. I'll start! I'm hoping to get DH to put our Santa w/sleigh and all the reindeer on top of the RV. I'll keep you posted on what else we decide to add. See you there! :wave2:

edited to add: Don't worry, we won't be knocking on any doors. :earboy2:

We are leaving the cold, snowy north (IL) the day after Christmas to stay in our FL house for a couple of weeks. Maybe we will get luckey and get into FW sometime that next week. Probably not, but we can hope.

We love driving around in our golf cart and looking at the cool displays.

Everyone that is staying there that majic week have a great time and a very merry Christmas.

John

We'll be there from 12/5 to 12/29 and staying in the pet loops ...... usually in the 1800 loop. Our site will have our large red Mickey Icon ears with our name and city written on them, an inflatable Mickey (4' tall), a Mickey Icon shaped wreath with tons of Disney ornaments attached, Pooh lights hanging from the awning and tons of assorted lights. The easiest thing to spot on our site will be our golf cart. We are decorating it in a "princess" theme this year. Nobody will be able to miss this rascal when we are done with it! ... LOL :smooth:

We are heading down on the 16th to arrive on Sunday the 19th. We will be coming from Western Mass. We have several decorations and at least one of them will be a real pine wreath (not sure there are many of them in Florida). We have loop 1800-1900 as our preferred as we are traveling with our dog.

bianca,
I can't wait to see your site. :earseek: Where did you get the Mickey icon with your names? That sounds so neat. We'll be in a preferred, pet loop. I haven't had much luck finding Disney outdoor decorations, so most of ours will be the usual Santa, elves, train, etc. Our indoor tree will be decorated in all Disney ornaments. Can't wait! :hyper:

My Mickey Icon was a joint project between my Dad and DH. I have rugs in my RV that are Mickey Icons (the same size that they sell at DTD in the Home Store) and had them use that as a pattern. My dad found the appropriate weather-proof material and cut it out, I painted it all and my DH the engineer rigged a tripod for it to be mounted to, so I have this 24" Mickey Icon suspended about 24-30" off the ground ...... we love it.

We're leaving on the 16th. I still haven't decided on decorations as I'm still trying to get shopping done. I'm not sure what DH will let me bring for outdoor decorations. Our biggest challenge this year is to keep this trip hidden from the kids ~ we're not telling them until the 12th!

I'll post when I figure out what we can fit in the RV. :earboy2:

We found the Christmas 4-foot inflatibles (Tigger, Pooh, and Mickey) at Walgreens for under 20 dollars and that's the best price I've seen anywhere!

Sadly, I won't be using them this year but just wait--next year we'll be there for every long weekend and holiday!!

We will be there for Dec 17th through the 23rd. We will have a white spiral tree made out of rope light and white icicle lights hanging from the awning of our pop-up camper. I've also got some battery powered christmas lights to put on or golf cart. We are hoping to be in the 1500 loop, but if not we will be in the 2000 loop ( w/e only)
LLagow :moped:

We are staying at Boardwalk this Christmas, rented a cart for the 26th just so we could cruise the Fort and check out all the decorations.

I'll be there the 8th - 15th in hopefully Loop 1500. I will probably try to squeeze in a string of lights to put on my rain/sun shelter, but since I'm flying weight/space is at a premium.

My big problem is that while at the present I have a couple extra strings, I keep finding places to add lights to our house, so I may not have any left!!!!!

I bought 20 new strings at Wal-Mart at 50% off last year right after Christmas and so far I've used most of them!!!!!!

Some of the Ft. Wilderness setups are awesome though!! These folks must either pull a trailer behind their rigs or have a local storage shed, cause there is no way they would have room to store this stuff in their rig while travelling!!

Hmmm ... did I miss something ?? Flying in and staying at FW. How does that work ???

This might just make you the most dedicated 'camper' I have met in awhile.

Whatever you are doing have a great Disney time ...

We will be in the cabins Dec 16-27. We will be decorating the porch with lights and garland. The golf cart will have lots of lime green. Hopefully, we will be in the 2500 loop. We can't wait!!

It's not that difficult :-)

I have a Rubbermaid Action Packer Bin and a large duffle that holds my tent, shelter, linens, folding chair, etc. I check those. They meet airline requirements of size and weight

Then I have a suitcase and a day pack that I carry-on. This holds my clothing and also some things that are heavy, but small such as flashlights, batteries, extension cords, power strip, lantern, air mattress pump. (The suitcase actually gets gate-checked on the small jets).

I have absolutely everything I need :-) I don't cook at Ft. Wilderness, so don't have need any of that kind of stuff.

We will be arriving on Dec 26. I can't wait till I can drive the golf cart around and look at all the decorations. Usually the very first site on the 300 loop has a beautiful motor home (Disney something on the plates) has that site decorated beyond belief. He has been there for the past 3 years and looking forward to seeing if it will be there again this year. We will not be decorating because with a travel trailer, two adults and six kids, we are lucky to get our clothing and food in the camper. I will definately look for the sites mentioned above and hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas holiday!

You guys are so lucky! We were at FW Christmas 2000 and 2002. It was a lot of fun to see all of the decorations. It was fun to buy and use decorations with a Disney theme.
