Can somebody please tell me about the Christmas goodies you get on Christmas morning. Do they do this at all the resorts? Is it just for children? Thanks!!! :wave2:

Can't say whether it is at all resorts (we were at BWV), but it is "for the room" as opposed to "for the children". They hung stockings (one per room) on the door knob with candy. Nothing elaborate, but I thought it was a nice gesture.

Thanks for the info. We will be at the POFQ. I presume and I hope that they wiil do it there also. I also think it is a nice gesture. We have 3 rooms, so I know my children :jumping1: will love getting them on their doors also. It just adds to the festivities! :cheer2:

CS hung stamped gift bags on the door. They had candy and a Christmas card in them. This was in 2003.
Smiles,
Diane =0)
Found a photo of the bag and card. (The hair showing in the picture is from our Great Dane, I swear he sheds so much I can't figure out why he isn't bald.)

I just posted this on another thread, but in previous years, you could purchase a Mickey Christmas stocking through the Disney Florist. I think last year it sold for $49.99 and here is a picture,

We had a stocking with Christmas candy attached to the car door at FW.

Every Xmas that we've stayed at a WDW resort, we've had a stocking with candy in it placed outside our door - definately at POR and BCV and I think at AKL as well. Its probably standard practice at all WDW resorts. Nice touch!

We got a gift bag w/candy and a card when we stayed at PC. Nice surprise since we weren't expecting anything. :goodvibes

Wow, candy in stocking on the door. We have stayed over Christmas..somebody must have been stealing ours..jeesh. Now I know to wake up earlier and check.

Ours was not a stocking but a white gift bag with those chocolate Nestle balls with little Disney candies inside. This was in 2002 at BWI.

We received ornament sized stockings in our rooms at GF a couple of years ago. One per room.

Just don't want people reading this to get undue expectaions. We're talking little stockings with a handful of candies. A wonderful touch and great surprise. :flower:

Thanks everyone. It doesn't really matter how big the gift, it is the gesture of thought to the guests. Looking forward to EVERYTHING when we finally get there. :jumping1:

Well said. I remember someone complaining about the size of the stockings on this board last year.

They are small but such a nice treat-- a very nice touch. And wow... getting something for nothing at WDW! :teeth:

TEll me! Tell me! is there something like that for New Years morning???
I'm so jealous of you guys!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We've been twice for NYE/NYD and no extra goodies.

Is it a tradition in Canada to exchange gifts on 1/1 or something? I do know of Boxing Day on 12/26 but have not heard of anything similar on 1/1? :confused3

There is no such tradition in the US at least that I know about.

Nope! But I was hoping since we are going in the magical time of the year that maybe Disney would do something for the New Year, but you know just being at Disney for New Years day is a goodie!!!! We do not exchange gift on the first on the year, but the first day of the year is very important for us, at least in Quebec!!!

Manon, I know this is completely off topic but can you tell me how 1/1 is important in Quebec?

In our part of the country, it it mostly about football! ;) We make homemade egg rolls as we watch game after game it seems.

It is also a Holy Day in the US for Catholics.

Some parts of the country have dining traditions. My husband is from a small Pennsylvania town with German roots. Pork roast and sauerkraut was the tradition in his family. Ham and blackeyed peas I think were a tradition in the South?

We are Catholics so it's part of our heritage! But the first day of the year, all the family members (I really mean all!!) join together for a traditionnal meal, and we ask our grand father for the Holy Blessing so that the new year will bring us all we need, like work, healt, time with our kids etc...It's a really nice day, the New Years day 2005 we were 80 person for lunch!! And remember that for us at that time its freezing cold outside and full of snow!!!
