Christmas Gifts

That would be good except your little one is 6 - does he still believe in Santa? How can you explain that Santa packed a trip for him under the tree? I like going to Disney but I still would think that he would be extrcting to see wrapped gifts under a tree.

Santa can still fill stockings at Disney! Just write him a note and tell him where you'll be!

Or if you're going after Christmas, Disney Dollars and other Disney goodies are fun under the tree. Matching family shirts, things to do on the road/plane, new headphones, coloring books...heck wrap up the free Disney Planning Vacation DVD and watch it together on Christmas! Autograph book, scrapbook, make a paper chain together to count down the days...

Our family also has plenty of stuff, they would love a trip as their main gift! Use the vacation budget AS the Christmas budget, now that's a budget friendly holiday and vacation.

We've done it several ways, but the moment of realization that a Disney trip is coming...never fails to amaze, it's wonderful! I vote yes, do a trip for Christmas!

I would do Disney as a Christmas gift if it weren't crazy busy and more expensive. Our son is born in December so we can use going in mid-December as an excuse for his birthday. We are planning on doing that next year when he'll turn 6. Not only because we know he'd enjoy celebrating his birthday in WDW but also because none of us have been when the parks are in full Christmas regalia. I've Ooh'd & Aah'd over too many Disney Christmas pictures and want to go so badly. And we've done MNSSHP and would love to go to MVMCP and see the lights.

We are going to do the trip for Christmas, but we arent going to go until January, when crowds are lower. I am thinking about how to do it, but I will probably just wrap the tickets in a box and let them open them on Christmas, then tell them the date when we are going! I will have other small gifts about the Disney trip to open also. Then get some other gifts from us and Santa to open.... Thanks for all the info it really helped me when telling DH about my idea! :lovestruc

When we went in Jan. we gave our girls there park passes wrapped up in their stockings.

We also gave them less expensive Disney things. Little towels, a pencil bag with travel stuff, disney band aids, matching mickey shirts, etc.

My SIL's did this for my kids this past Christmas! It was great they loved it! they went over Easter break. My SIL's sent a Tink card with the music in it saying when she comes to visit (she is in Cali) in JAn( this past Jan) they will get their gift. so Xmass morning they opened the card. Cute but they didn't think anything of it. So when she arrived she had the WDW guide for kids wrapped and the WDW soundtrack wrapped and gave it to them and told them their tix were booked and they leave on x day! They were so excited!
I of course was totally jealous because I wanted to go! :lmao:

Any way so DH surprised me and said book a trip for Nov! So my kids got to go twice and now we ended up buying a DVC so we get togo every yr!:rotfl: :worship: :cool1:

Any way I thought the trip was a great idea they had a blast. Of course being with Aunties is much different from being with mom and dad and they did things very different then I would of but they came back in one piece and had a blast.

we are going in sept. but last christmas Santa brought the girls stuff for Disney - they each got a rolling suitcase (both were from Disney store - one tink & the other princesses) and on the disney store online you can personalize bags - they each got a small messenger bag with a character and their name on it again one tink the other Ariel, they each got 25 disney dollars and disney t-shirts,disney studio jean jackets - mom & dad each got a t-shirt too & Mommy got a new disney studio jean jacket also. So the girls know we are going but.... they were told we can't go see Mickey until they are both using the potty with no accidents. We are most of the way there.   I haven't figured out when or how to tell them yet though.........
