Christmas Gift ideas for DD (7) who LOVES to play school....

My daughter LOVES to play school! Really its the only thing she is into these days aside from arts and crafts. I am trying to think of things to get her for christmas that she can play "school" with. She usually sets her American Girl dolls up and some of her stuffed animals in her room. I got her a white board that is hanging up on her wall and she uses it to teach. Any other nice ideas? I am clueless as to what to get her this year!!

You could get her a large cork board, some bulletin board borders and some letters and she can make bulletin boards. She could change them around and show off her artwork and school work on them.

There is an actual American Girl "doll school" set. I ordered it from Amazon for my DD last year, and she likes it. It has doll-sized books, papers, etc.

Maybe you could include red pen for grading, small notebooks, and some "good job" stickers.

American Girl has the new backpack set for dolls that was just released this month. It's adorable and has made it on my DD7's Christmas list.

She got it for Christmas last year when she was 8 and she has played with it by herself and with other friends for hours and hours.

Also, our dollar store has lots of great teacher supply kinds of things like certificates, notepads, "passes", etc. that are bright and colorful and would be fun to play school with.

Seasonal borders would be fun to have. She can show off her art work in the middle. I also like the pp ideas of AG school things.

Have you thought about going to your local teachers store and maybe purchasing a few lessons? She might like teaching for real and she might just learn a little something too!

My dd9 went through the same phase and loved getting a pointer. She also likes having her own bulletin boards in her room to hang up pictures, school work etc.

This might be a tough one to find, but...

A few years ago, a friends daughter was going through the same phase, and wanted all 'teaching' stuff for her bday. My friend just happened upon the fact that her daughter's school was selling some old 'overhead' projector machines. Friend gave that to her daughter for her bday and it was a HUGE hit. She loved making transparencies and showing them on her bedroom wall lol. A lot of schools are getting rid of overheads in favor of promethians and smart boards, so you might be able to find one.
