Christmas Fantasy parade dining packages?

When we did it a couple of years ago, it was directly across from Plaza Inn right next to the "crossing area." It was very frustrating because people would cross over and just sit in the reserved spot. We had a family of 8, with 2 strollers come and sit right in front of us. I felt kinda bad reporting them to the cast members but I felt like this is something that we paid extra for and it was perk of the extra cost.
I had the same thing happen at WDW during one of the fireworks shows. Everyone yelled at them and it was a big uncomfortable scene.

I know the Candlelight will be that weekend- so maybe because of that? I could see not doing that weekend because of that, but don't remember them shutting things down all week due to it.
Yeah, it's anyone's guess. I just hope we will be able to see the parade and eat the Plaza at least once during our week.

Does anyone have insight into whether this is table service or counter service? It looks like the parade dining package is table service, but it isn't totally clear on the website. Will it be possible to take food to go if it is table service? I have a toddler and this is brushing up against naptime, so just not sure of the mood on any given day.

I believe it's a different menu.

Amid the restaurant’s lavish Victorian setting, choose your favorites from a delectable menu featuring Roasted New York strip loin, house-made macaroni and cheese, and autumn vegetables—with chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

Our kids’ meal includes Roasted New York strip loin, house-made macaroni and cheese, and a choice of applesauce or carrots—with chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

Whoops, I meant if I didnt purchase the Dining Package and just wanted to grab a meal at Plaza Inn, I could still order from their regular QS menu, right?

It is counter service. They have a special area set aside to pick up this meal. At least that is how it was in the past.

Thank you very much for the insight! Was it possible in the past to grab the food to go and eat it elsewhere (i.e. at the hotel)?

I was hoping for December 1st but it wasn’t available for whatever reason. I snagged the 29th just to make sure we had them. Guess we’re eating at plaza in twice in the same day since I have character breakfast reservations for that morning.

Checked on my phone and could access it from there but there were no reservations for the day we're going. Not too disappointed but it would have been a nice bonus haha

Anyone know if it's 30days out for reservations on this? See most days available, except Monday December 6th which of course is the day I was trying to book.

EDIT: Nevermind, just wasn't able tables for party of 4. Found a reservation for a table for 3, so all set there!

From what I read on the DL site and some of the comments here it sounds like a cluster. Think we will skip even though there are slots available. Was hoping for table service and it sounds like you have to walk around to possibly find an open table to sit. Not worth the price. Will head out to DD where we can also find a cocktail.🙂

I've taken it to go in the past (2019, I believe). You have to ask at the counter before they make your plate. They were also able to find me a bag for the meals, as well.

They are not doing the package any days I am there -Nov 30th thru Dec 5th. :(
I'm glad you posted because I was thinking it was just me not being able to see those dates. I wonder why there are no packages that week?

I'm sure the lack of availability on those dates is due to Candlelight and the setup for that taking up the usual parade viewing area near the train station.

Thank you to both posters for the advice! I'll try to check back next week after it starts to see if anyone tries to grab and go this year before my visit.
