We are looking for advice from the awesome people here on the Dis about a Christmas Eve reservation. We will be down at WDW from Dec. 18-Jan.1. The 18-24 is booked at OKW, and the 28-1st is booked at Bonnet Creek. We were going to spend the 24-28 at my parents place, but my mother became ill and we don't want to stress her.:sad1:

So...now we have to find an economical way to spend the 24-28 at WDW. Does anyone know when the discounts ran through last December? Should we rent points and stay DVC, try for a WDW mod, or should we hope for a teacher discount at the Swan/Dolphin? What would be the most budget-friendly option?

Please help us find a place to stay for Christmas Eve! :santa:

Thanks for any tips/help/advice!:flower3:

Right now the general public room only discount goes through 12/25. So if you booked 12/24-12/28, the first 2 nights are eligible for the discount but the last 2 nights would be at rack rate. Renting DVC points would normally be a great idea, but at this late date I'm not sure what you'd find for availability. It is likely OKW or SSR might be available. I'm not sure about the Swan or Dolphin as we own DVC so I've never stayed at either. Good luck!

Here are some different options - not knowing teh # of people in your party and ages I can not give you specific prices.

Option #1 - Stay at OKW for the entire WDW trip - 12/18-12/28. Book it under free dining and eat well - as long as you check in by 12/21 you can have free dining all week

Option #2 - Downgrade to a moderate (POR is great) for the entire stay - save some $ over OKW prices. Again book under free dining and eat free your entire stay

Option #3 - Stay at OKW under the current room only discount - you will have to pay rack rate for 3 days.

Option #4 - Stay at a moderate or value under the current rom ony discount - you will have to pay rack rate for 3 days.

OPtion #5 - Stay at OKW your entire stay and go under the current free gift card offer ($500) with a discount.

Option #6 - Stay at OKW under gift card offer and than move to a value reosrt for a few days. Use the gift card to pay for the extra nights.

Personally I would go with #2.

There are many other options available. You just need to ask your self how many times to you want to switch resorts. I think moving once is to many. I would personally figure out a way to say at WDW in one resort until you move to bonnet creek.
