We would like to see the Christmas deecorations at Disney. I noticed the rates are lower after January 1st. Does anyone know how log the decorations stay up, or when they start taking them down? Our dates depend on this. Any information is helpful. Thanks

We have been a couple of times for my birthday Jan.3rd and the Christmas decorations were still up. In 2007 I ran the half marathon on January 6th and they were up as well.

Early Dec the rates should also be low. Great time to go also.

Early Dec and after the 1st of Jan are usually lower priced. The decorations are typically there through at least the first full weekend of the year - we've been there as late as the 10th and the Christmas decorations were still up.

It's a great idea to go after the 1st of the year the decorations are still up and the rates start dropping. The Christmas decorations are definetly worth seeing. I would defintely recommend going to see the decorations after the first of the year.

It used to be the best time to go, right after Thanksgiving, most people have the holidays off and are gone by then but times have changed alot and there doesn't seem to be a good time anymore. We've done a few trips after Thankgiving into the 1st week of December and it was great. Weather was hot enough to swim but you can never count on that, and the crowds were low. Decorations are up and beautiful, a really must see and the rack rates were value season. check around to see when the rates change. Hope whatever you pick, its the best vacation you'll ever have.

The trouble with January is that the weather can be COLD that time of year - AND Disney tends to do most of their ride rehabs at that time of year.
I personally don't want to go on one of the water rides when it'sonly 50 degrees outside. I also don't think it's much fun to be outdoors all day if it's cold and windy. WDW is a lot of outdoors. You also may well miss out on one of your favorite rides (or more!)
