Hello,
Am contemplating a trip over Christmas break and was wanting to hear from those who have been there what dining was like? Did all the TS have special menus? Only some of them? About when do the special menus come out?
If the park reaches capacity (which I hear is common on x-mas eve & x-mas day), if you have resies will they let you in? Or are you stuck missing your meal?
I was thinking of setting up Fantasmic dinner reservations for Christmas Eve. Sounded like something special everyone would enjoy. Anyone done it on x-mas eve?
Does Chef Mickey's typically have a special menu?
Thanks for your input!
Michelle

I believe only a few places to eat will have special menus on Christmas day (not sure about Christmas eve). Fantasmic dinner package sounds great for Christmas Eve. Another great one would be the Candlelight dinner package.

If the park reaches capacity and are not letting anyone else in, even if you have reservations they will not let you in.

Check out all ears net for menus and activities from prior years.

One other thing - we were down there two years ago for NYE and had to reserve our dinner reservations on NYE with a credit card and I believe you had 48 hours to cancel. This was for any place we wanted to eat. Not sure if they are still doing that. I guess they wanted to make sure as it was a very busy night that people did not make more then one reservation and then not keep them.

Nearly every table service restaurant will have at least one selection for the holiday. They usually begin the special offerings one to two days prior to Christmas and some carry them through to NYE.

The buffets generally add selections to their usual fare. They are quite often, turkey, roast beef, or ham or something along those lines.

If the park is closed for capacity and you have used a credit card to hold your ADR, AND will be subjected to a cancellation fee, request that a supervisor be called to the gate if the CM can't let you in. I've yet to hear about someone being denied access when they were going to end up paying a cancellation fee through no fault of their own.

Sometimes there are extra food kiosks put up for the holidays. Often, this is in EPCOT. The food isn't necessarily traditionally holiday (whatever that means) but it makes it a bit easier to feed the masses.

We did Fantasmic Brown Derby for Christmas (not Christmas eve) and loved it. The meal was the normal Fantasmic meal--no difference.

On Christmas Day, MOST places do have a set menu. We did not know this and though you could pick from the regular menu as well and had reservations for WCC and did not like it at all:( We also tried to go to MK on Christmas Day and ended up leaving 1/2 hour later when we couldn't even make it down main street:eek: It was CRAZY, they are not telling a story on how busy it is that day!
They normally post the menus a couple of months before.
