We will be arriving on November 17 and departing on the 22nd. Anyone know whether or not the Christmas decorations will be up at the parks and/or the resorts at this time?

::MickeyMo I don't think so. They generally go up after Thanksgiving. It's almost like an overnight transformation. ::MinnieMo

Most of the decorations go up right after thanksgiving. I think the Osbourne light display at MGM starts while you're there though.

By the 22d, you should see a lot of holiday decorations. We checked out of the GF once about 8 to 10 days before thanksgiving, and they were putting up the tree pretty much the whole time we were there, and they unveiled it the morning we checked out. Others report holiday decorations at the resorts in the week before thanksgiving -- not quite as much in the parks, though. Given that the 22d is two days before thanksgiving, I think it's highly likely that you will see decorations lots of places in the resorts.

There should be quite a bit of the Christmas decorations up when you are down -- however, not all of them will be lit. Here are a few of the Christmas things that I know will be available while you are down.

"Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade" will help to celebrate the season at Disney's Animal Kingdom from November 14 – January 8, 2006. Santa Goofy and other Disney characters will also transform Camp Minnie-Mickey into a wild and festive wonderland.

Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights. Nov. 14 – Jan. 8, 2006. Millions of lights bombard the eyes at the Disney-MGM Studios (link).

Festival of the Seasons. Nov. 19 – Dec. 24. Downtown Disney celebrates the season (link).

This was up by mid-November last year.
The Grand Floridian will again host its famed life-sized holiday gingerbread house, which will double as a store selling Santa lollipops, gingerbread cookie people, gingerbread ornaments, gingerbread cookies, stollen bread, and Grand Floridian chocolate logo boxes filled with truffles, peppermint bark and miniature gingerbread houses.

This is the decorating schedule from year before last.

I was there during the same time last year (and I will be there again for the week before thanksgiving again this year) and most of the decorations were up!!!
You will see most (not all) of the x-mas decorations at the resorts and the parks!!! Enjoy your trip!!!

Wow, Disney1990! You have quite the inside track on the decorations. That's great information - thanks a bunch! :flower:
