Christmas decorations at DVC Resorts

Can anyone tell me when they take the decorations down? We are planning a trip starting January 2 and wanted to know If they will still be up.

We were there this year from 12/26 thru 1/5 and all the lights were still up. They did stop the Osborne lights around the time we left. Go see them one of your 1st days there very cool!

OK that sound good because on my last day yesterday there, I asked the front desk at BCV and they said everything in DisneyWorld comes down on the 31st. Did not want to miss them as this is the only chance in 20 years to be there at Christmas. And if we change the dates to arriving earlier than Jan 2, the points go way up and the room availability goes down.

When we arrived at VWL on Jan 5, the Christmas tree and other decorations were down in the villas, but still up in the hotel. That tree was down during the night and there was no trace of holiday decorations at all at the WL. In the villas, for that week, they spent a lot of time stripping, resealing, buffing the lobby floors.

MK was still decorated and the castle lights were still on until about Jan 8 or 10.

The tree at Epcot was up 12/29 and down 12/31 when we were there this past year.

I think we did see the Osborne Lights on the last night on Sunday, Jan 6.

Not sure when they take them down but we were there this last Xmas time and we think they are cutting back on the decoration all over. We went around to pretty much all resorts and admire them each time we go down. Except for the GF and WL they seemed more skimpy than in the past, especially OKW our home resort. I am still upset that they no longer have the International Walkway at EPCOT decorated and the lights set to music. This was just so pretty and seemed to be very popular. When I asked why they stopped, no one seemed to know and two others never heard of them. What a shame for those who never had the opportunity to see this very inspiring display.....smjj

The Lights of Winter have been gone for several years now. At that time they said they technology was outdated and they needed too many repairs to keep them working.
