Decorations in the resorts and the parks start going up on November 1st. By the time the first MVMCP rolls around, usually, the parks and resorts are fully decorated.
Oh cool! I was wondering about this too because someone at work mentioned it might be a possibility for my upcoming trip... MVMCP starts on Day 4 of our trip so this is excellent news! I've never been at Christmas time
You will have so much fun! I went last november for a "Disney Christmas Trip" and we had so much fun! By mid november all of the new holiday brochures for the parks were out, the decorations were 90% up (Main St looked so great!- and be sure to check out the holiday themed character bushes at the crystal palace- so cute!) and everything looked great! We did the Mickey Christmas Party and had so much fun- the characters are all dressed for christmas and the lines for the rides were almost non existant. We went on big thunder mountain 5 times in a row! (they didnt make us get off!) so fun!
According to the WDW calendar, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights will not begin this year until November 28 - the day after Thanksgiving.
Day after Thanksgiving is the day that ALL decorating will have been completed. MVMCP and MK decorations are the first to be up each year. Gingerbread, trees, and events at resorts and the other parks appear in November with no guarantee of completion until November 28 this year.
In 2007 the GF gingerbread house was up and running (selling gingerbread food and ornaments) by the time of the first MVMCP. GF tree was not up yet.
The first MVMCP is on Nov. 10, our departure day. THink the GF gingerbread house will be up the weekend prior to that? I'd love for DDs BFF to see it, it's her first trip to WDW!
