We will be at our timeshare from 12/23 to 12/26 with one full day at Animal Kingdom.

We have meal reservations at Kona Cafe, The Wave, and Boma so will see those resorts and have been to GF in the past.

That said, which, if any, resorts would you recommend we visit for the Christmas decorations? Thanks.

I am of the strong opinion that WL is worth the trip, if you can fit it in your schedule. Maybe head over there via boat after The Wave if you have the time.

Have fun!

I took some pictures of the Christmas decorations at the Epcot resorts when we were there at the end of November . I used my cell phone, so they aren't the best pictures, but I'll post them anyway. ;)

I've always wanted to see the gingerbread house at the Boardwalk. We finally made it over there.

I had heard that the Swan resort had a chocolate Santa display so we stopped over there to check it out.

We just visited Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht, Beach, Wilderness, Poly, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and French Quarter.

Must visit, IMO: Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and The Grand Floridian.

If you have time, IMO: Contemporary, Poly, French Quarter.

Not worth the effort: Dolphin, Yacht, and Boardwalk.

Boardwalk looks great. I forgot about our Saturday night dinner at the Swan. Thank you.

Isn't the Yacht Club the one with the miniature train? I think that's worth checking out.

ETA: Yep, after I posted, I saw that Wood Nymph posted pictures of YC in post #5.

The train was OK but not worth the effort, IMO.

All good suggestions above. I'd just add that WL has always seemed to have the best decorations to me. There's also a nice treatment in the DVC lobby next door.

I'll just add that we stayed at both BC and GF a couple weeks ago and did some resort hopping to see decorations. We thought GF had the best all-around, next for us was the YC. BC and BWI were cute. Poly didn't seem spectacular, even though one of our favorite resorts, I think we view it more of a summer place to be. On tap for next year we'll be sure to visit WL and AKL.

I broke my resort touring down a couple of years ago. The day I went to AK, I went to AKL to see their lobby and got some lunch at Mara for a nice break.

I went to Epcot for a day and a half and that day I toured Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwalk - I forgot to check the Swan/Dolphin.

On my MK day, I took some of the day and toured Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Poly. I also rode the boat to WL on the next morning before I went to a park so I could see their tree.

It worked well for me - it was a short 5 day Disney trip but I still was able to see all of this decor plus have time in the parks.

I personally think the train display at the YC is wonderful! There are many little scenes all over the display. It is great how they work all the Y & B restaurants & shops into it. And finding Mickey & friends all over the board is fun too. There is a lot to look at here, not just the train.

Full disclosure: I’m not that impressed with Wilderness Lodge’s decor. Sure, the lobby is impressive & I love the fireplace. But the nature inspired decorations are not my thing.
