i am planning to go to Magic kingdom on christmas day, as this is the first time we are going to disney.
and i would like to have dinner on christmas day at 1900 park at grand floridian.
my question is, once i finish my dinner, will i be able to go back to the park no problem? because i heard from people that the park often full on that day
what do u think?
thanks

Magic Kingdom is people elbow ot elbow on Christmas day...this past Christmas day it was closed by 11:30am....I'm not sure if or when it was opened again. Return guests do get preference over outside guests.....

But my questions to all those that feel a need to be In the MK on Christmas day what is the pull??? The crowds are the worst the lines to rides are the worst...what do you do ???

We stayed as far away from MK on Christmas day that we could...and after reports from others that went I'm sure glad we did..

We were there Christmas Day last year for awhile. It was not very crowded at all early that morning. In fact, I was wondering where everybody was . . . that is, as zurgswife said, until around 11:30. Then it was mobbed!

We left at that point and went to Epcot for the rest of the day, which wasn't extremely crowded -- very nice in fact.

I'm with zurgswife about returning -- I belive they had closed the park as we were leaving -- they had cars waiting at the toll booth to get in, so I'm pretty sure off-property guests weren't getting in then. I'm not sure about on-property guests, but it was too crowded to have a good time by then anyway.

But, while we were there, it was great. I can now say I've been to the MK on Christmas Day! (And then, got the heck outta there!)

You didn't mention if you were staying on property ... that could make a difference.

Chances are, by Christmas evening, after dinner, MK will have cleared out a bit and you shouldn't have too many problems getting in. However, if it is closed to day guests, it would likely still be open to guests staying in on-site resorts. Usually, if you can come via internal transportation, then you're okay.

But I do agree with the other posters -- Christmas Day is a mob scene. Go early, enjoy the morning, and then get the heck out!

We did spend most of Christmas eve day there and it seemed fairly empty on that day..

I walked into the MK at about 9am Christmas day this past year, and it was already pretty mobbed. Line all the way down the street for the bakery. 45 minute wait for Cosmic Ray's counter service breakfast. Eat breakfast before you go at least, if you insist on going that day. But most people I talked to who went said they got in maybe 3 big attractions the whole day. Fast passes for Space Mountain for 7 hours later (and this is in the morning, and the ticket says no fastpasses for 3 more hours). I mean pretty absurd. The only saving grace was, after the first Spectromagic and fireworks, the park did clear out, and by staying until park close at midnight, I was able to do 5 or 6 attractions in those last two hours between 10 and 12, whereas I did maybe 3 attractions between 9 am and 10 pm. And, there was a final show in front of the castle at 11pm that wasn't crowded, so that was nice too. Even though it is special to be there on Christmas day and see the Christmas parade on Christmas day, I'm starting to think it's not worth it to be there during the daytime hours that day, at least not if it's that bad. My suggestion: skip the morning and afternoon at MK, and just go for the fireworks and second Spectromagic, and then you can ride all the attractions you want to during those late hours before closing. Oh and by the way, Christmas day fell on a usual extra magic hour day for the MK, but to reduce crowds they switched the days with another park for that day. I don't know if they still let people in early, because I wasn't there quite that early (9am to 12 midnight was a long enough park day for me), but the schedules they gave out at the resorts showed the switch for extra magic hour.

i am planning to stay onsite.
i really want to spend christmas day at the MK as this is the theme park that i love most
do they offer ANYTHING special on THAT day?
i was thinking that there might be a SPECIAL xmas parade on that day since it is the Christmas day

We went to the MK on Christmas Day 2002. We got there early around 7:00 - park was already open I believe. We left around 9:30 and the place was a zoo.

I don't believe that anything special goes on that day that doesn't occur during the week or two leading up to the holiday, but like I said we left early so someone else may be able to provide better information.
