We fly in to Orlando on Christmas Day, what do you think are chances are of getting into MK at 7pm? As we are staying onsite we have guranteed entry to a park but I'd love it to be MK.

On Boxing Day we have plans in the morning but may want to go into a park for a couple of hours in the afternoon, which do you think we'd get in?

Same question re the 27th, plans in the morning but would love to get into MGM in the afternoon, there'll be 5 of us but only 4 staying onsite.

I know I can't get definate answers but it would be good to know your thoughts.

i didnt know you were guarenteed to get into a park if staying onsite, where did you find that out?

Never been over christmas but how lucky are you!

In the brochure I think I read it, have I gone mad?

not sure, i didnt think you got guarenteed entry if you were staying on site but I could be wrong, never read it before when i have been so maybe someone on here knows for sure

just read this on some hotel website

Perks

Disney's Magical Express transports you and your luggage from the airport to any of the Disney World hotels and back again.
Extra Magic Hours mean one of the parks is open earlier in the morning (or later in the evening) for guests of Disney World hotels only.
Transportation throughout Disney World via a system of monorails, buses and boats.
Guaranteed Entry into the theme parks, even when the parking lots are full.
Package Delivery; your purchases at the theme parks can be sent directly to your hotel

The way it works is when the park is reaching capacity they will stop entry for off site guests so on-site guests have more of a chance of getting in, once capacity is reached no-one gets in. Usually later in the day as guests leave they may open up the gates again until capacity is reached again.

I'm not sure you would get in at 7pm on xmas day, as it's pretty full all day.

We landed about 2:30pm this last Xmas day. went to hotel, had a quick shower and to MK, this was the busiest Xmas I have seen in 5 Xmas trips, crazy crowds and we had no problem getting in about 6pm Xmas day and we were staying offsite.
For onsite guests you are guaranteed entry to a park, just might not be the one you want.

Oh that is good to hear so I might be able to get in!

Apparently they have different stages for not admitting guests when getting close to capacity.

Stage One: Day Guests (ie, people not staying at a Disney hotel) who have not already purchased tickets will be turned around at the Auto Plaza and told that the park has reached capacity. They can try going to one of the other three Disney parks.

Stage Two: Admission is limited to Resort Guests, Premium and Annual Passholders, crossovers and other Guests re-entering one of the Parks today. Guests using WDW Resort Transportation and Guests in taxis will be admitted.

Stage Three: The theme park is only open to Resort Guests using Disney transportation from their Resort or other theme parks or Annual and Premium Passholders. Shades of Green and Downtown Disney Resort Area Guests using their respective transportation will also be admitted.

Stage Four: Closed to all new Guests.

Stage 4 is very rare and I believe it happened over Easter briefly and if it reaches this stage then absolutely no-one is allowed in. Tbh, if it was at this stage you wouldn't want to be there anyway.
I think by early evening the parks have eased off a bit. We went to Epcot in 2007 on Christmas day at about 7pm and we got in no problem at all. Parked up right at the front and walked straight in.
