I heard about The Melting Pot from someone in St. Louis, and next thing I knew there was one out here. I hear that it is pricey for 2, but the more people you bring to share, the better the price. I have also heard that there's a ton of food. We'll probably focus mainly on cheese and dessert fondues.
Nan~our student council does the "penny wars", like your school is doing, every spring. They donate to a different cause each year. The kids and staff have so much fun with it. Sometimes I think the teachers get more crazy about it than the kids!
We're doing a fundraiser for Katrina victims right now, too. I sponsor the video club and one of the 5th grade classes came up with the cutest commercial for our video announcements last week. We're hoping to raise a good amount to send down.
Tig~you're right. They should definitely have a melting pot in NY
Karen~I totally agree about PF Changs. I LOVE their lettuce wraps. I think I could eat a dozen. I'm also a big fan of the honey chicken and honey shrimp.
Aisling~I love the Narnia books. Did you ever see the old cartoon of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe? I think it came out when I was a kid. I loved that movie, and I don't think that the Lion would seem creepy if you saw him in the movie. At least he didn't seem creepy to me.
As for the upcoming
Disneyland trip, I moved out here from Illinois, so I haven't been to DL very much. This will be my 3rd trip. Grim's

the one who's been a million times. When we met, though, he had never been to WDW. I had been twice. We took our first trip together in August of 2001, then went back for our honeymoon in March 2002, then back for the 4th of July in 2002, NYE 2002/2003, Cruise and WDW in Nov. 2003, July 4th in 2004.... whew... then we took a break.

Its been a year and a half since WDW so we can't wait to get back! Our Disneyland trips this summer and next month are the only things keeping us going! That and buying all kinds of junk from ebay and the
Disney store....hehe

Our families and friends think we're nuts spending all our time at Disney parks, but that's what makes us happy.
Ok, I know I'm talking a lot, but one more thing to share...related to Disney. At our first staff meeting this year, we played this game called Imaginiff. So its like "Imagine if you were a book. What type of book would you be?" Then they give you answer choices. So each person at the table had to take a turn. They got the question and we had to guess which answer they would choose. So, it gets to me and my question is "Imaginiff you were taking your dream vacation. Which would you choose?"
Answer Choices.
A. Trip To Walt Disney World
B. A Luxury Cruise
C. An African Savannah Adventure
D. Staying home and surfing the Web
All the people at my table just died laughing because everyone knows what a Disney freak I am. When I gave away my answer, I included that my Christmas break would kind of be a combination of answers a,b, and c....
Disney Cruise, followed by a trip to WDW where I will go to Animal Kingdom and see an African Savannah!
Ok, enough talking for one night.
