I have an idea to bounce....do you like the thought of a wreath made of the Home Depot paint heads (lime green/dark green) as a door sign?

It needs depth, any suggestions???? Oh idea....how about pop dots behind them, Kris ya read me? Also, thinking of using some of that glazing stuff that makes it look wet....

Rock the New Year in with Smash Mouth!!!!!

You're killing me! I freakin love Smash Mouth! Did you ever hear them sing I Wanna Walk Like You from Jungle Book? Might as well be walking on the sun...wow what a show that's going to be.

I'm on the night-before AKL list.
And I need more info on the exchange.

but Paul did say "OUR DIS FRIENDS"
That's good news, I thought we were scaring the poor guy with our togetherness factor! :rotfl:

Does anyone have a list of our groups Dining Seating Times? |(Early or Late). For the record, we're Late.

Aisling: You don't need to know more, you're putting in the rats, remember :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I don't think we called it an exchange before, you know the boxes stuffed with things from our home state or rats, whatever.....

I haven't heard that version of SM, I'll ask Paul to see if he can download me a version.

gotta get the kids asleep, it's past 9 and they are reading....

N

I heard about The Melting Pot from someone in St. Louis, and next thing I knew there was one out here. I hear that it is pricey for 2, but the more people you bring to share, the better the price. I have also heard that there's a ton of food. We'll probably focus mainly on cheese and dessert fondues.

Nan~our student council does the "penny wars", like your school is doing, every spring. They donate to a different cause each year. The kids and staff have so much fun with it. Sometimes I think the teachers get more crazy about it than the kids!

We're doing a fundraiser for Katrina victims right now, too. I sponsor the video club and one of the 5th grade classes came up with the cutest commercial for our video announcements last week. We're hoping to raise a good amount to send down.

Tig~you're right. They should definitely have a melting pot in NY

Karen~I totally agree about PF Changs. I LOVE their lettuce wraps. I think I could eat a dozen. I'm also a big fan of the honey chicken and honey shrimp.

Aisling~I love the Narnia books. Did you ever see the old cartoon of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe? I think it came out when I was a kid. I loved that movie, and I don't think that the Lion would seem creepy if you saw him in the movie. At least he didn't seem creepy to me. :goodvibes

As for the upcoming Disneyland trip, I moved out here from Illinois, so I haven't been to DL very much. This will be my 3rd trip. Grim's pirate: the one who's been a million times. When we met, though, he had never been to WDW. I had been twice. We took our first trip together in August of 2001, then went back for our honeymoon in March 2002, then back for the 4th of July in 2002, NYE 2002/2003, Cruise and WDW in Nov. 2003, July 4th in 2004.... whew... then we took a break. :) Its been a year and a half since WDW so we can't wait to get back! Our Disneyland trips this summer and next month are the only things keeping us going! That and buying all kinds of junk from ebay and the Disney store....hehe :teeth: Our families and friends think we're nuts spending all our time at Disney parks, but that's what makes us happy. :earboy2:

Ok, I know I'm talking a lot, but one more thing to share...related to Disney. At our first staff meeting this year, we played this game called Imaginiff. So its like "Imagine if you were a book. What type of book would you be?" Then they give you answer choices. So each person at the table had to take a turn. They got the question and we had to guess which answer they would choose. So, it gets to me and my question is "Imaginiff you were taking your dream vacation. Which would you choose?"
Answer Choices.
A. Trip To Walt Disney World
B. A Luxury Cruise
C. An African Savannah Adventure
D. Staying home and surfing the Web

All the people at my table just died laughing because everyone knows what a Disney freak I am. When I gave away my answer, I included that my Christmas break would kind of be a combination of answers a,b, and c.... Disney Cruise, followed by a trip to WDW where I will go to Animal Kingdom and see an African Savannah! :teeth:

Ok, enough talking for one night.

Well, I did it. Maybe it didn't sink in yet, because I haven't gotten nauseous yet, but I emailed Costco to charge me for the final payment. That's how Costco does it, not by phone.

Hmmmm, I called them up last week and paid it off over the phone.

grim pirate:

Dede - I am addicted to the lettuce wraps!!!!

We are early seating. We just got the proofs for Kayla's Senior picture - I am NOT that old. I do NOT have a child in her Senior year. (ok I thought if I stated it it would be true!)

LYMI!

Karen: I've already come to the conclusion...

that WE are not getting old-THEY are :)

I'm getting ready for my second childhood
-if these darn kids would just get outta my way!

-jk-

I have Brittany's prints back already-I'll load them into my photobucket later
(maybe tomorrow since they're at home) and share.

Britt's portraits were taken a week after school let out last summer.

Stefanie (Rose's & my other daughter) just got her proofs too.

I'm thinking our three girls will hit it off nicely-Stef is into theatre thru school. Britt is just a likeable kinda gal princess: princess: princess:

~our princesses in training~

Dede: I think it's great that you two know how to have fun!

I also determined that Disney is my fountain of youth
-the more I go, the younger I get!

"Imaginiff you were taking your dream vacation. Which would you choose?"
Answer Choices.
A. Trip To Walt Disney World
B. A Luxury Cruise
C. An African Savannah Adventure
D. Staying home and surfing the Web

I pick A!

Unless of course A, B & C could be combined to be WDW, DCL and AKL ;)

~Then I'm right there with ya~

I surf because I cannot travel every day...it's my way of meeting people all over the country and still get to work and make the money to get me back to WDW!

BTW I have been able to get on DIS at work lately - that's why I post so much during the day. Busy, me? Nah. Anyway, thanks Tig for clearing up this whole aging thing for me. I feel much better. If your girls are going to WOD they'll have a chance to meet then. Kayla is shy until she feels comfortable. That is why I encourage her to read the posts! LYMI.

I finally finished Delswife. I told Dominck and Kayla it was mandatory reading. I sat there :rotfl2: and they would ask what, what ... I told them they had to read it. I am even thinking of printing it out for my sister to read. She'll get a kick out of it. Who wouldn't. I wish I could write like that!

Sat with SIL to go over her tribes' excursions. My sister wrote hers down for me, only her two want to go in 4 different directions at the same time. That may be a little tricky! Time for a SPREADSHEET. I just love spreadsheets!!!
:cheer2:

OOOOO look counter says 3 months!!! And look the Abbatiello's are at 250 posts!!!! I know get back to work .....

Karen: Tell me how you really feel about those lettuce wraps :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm glad we agree on the aging thing. I have realized that is exactly why I like to go. I'm being a child again and having all the fun in the world (or Land) that I want. I wonder what our kids will think of this kind of stuff when they are old like us....don't ya remember thinking that 40 was old and 50 was close to death... :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: If only we listened....and had enjoyed our youth, oops I did enjoy my youth, I'm just more proactive about enjoying my age now that it's here.

So got back from the doctor today....not all great, but all fixable, with drugs, exercise and better eating habits, so with that perhaps you will in fact see less of me on the cruise....Send me PD to help with the will power 'eh?

So, must get back to work....I know I have lots of pictures to down load and post but too much work....sorry....

lymi,

N

Hmmmm, I called them up last week and paid it off over the phone.
Grim, I just kept following the prompts, press 1 for blah blah blah. And it led to having to email Costco permission to charge the card. I never spoke to a living being, nor was I prompted to actually make a payment over the phone! I'm going to call right now. (Well, in a minute.)

Aisling: You don't need to know more, you're putting in the rats, remember
Oh THAT exchange! ;)

Nan, :wizard: to you to be a good girl and do what the doctor ordered!

Gotta call Costco now!

We are NOT old. Who says so. Put up your dukes :rotfl2:

And, I thought I was the last one paying off the cruise -whew - I don't feel bad now.

How many postings does it take for the tag fairy to colorize the words?
I went to the Tech board and asked them to colorize me...

and line em up

and they did

a long long time ago a little birdie told me to go there instead of waiting for the Tag Fairy to get me :)

aka my bean counter friend....do you have a list of who is going to be at AKL the night before?

& do you have a list of who is going to be in the exchange?

The rest of you:

And if you want to be on those lists have you let Tigg know????

Thanks for your time....

N
I already spoke to Nan but I thought I'd post this here too-

AKL should be:
Nan's 4
Aisling's 4
Grim's 2
My 4

The swap may have to extend to family members if we don't get anymore participants-

My list is at home, but I do know off the top of my head that there are less than 10 DISers on it.

I'll publish the list tonight so we can work on more participants for the swap.

When you publish your list. Could ya please publish Dis names Vs Real Names. Please Please Please

You KNOW them...you tell ME

I have a feeling we could head that way after Cirque :)
Have you looked into ticket info? PI is a hard ticket only that night-absolutely limited to 21 and over from what I hear.

Paul: blah blah blah...our DIS friends
Nan: what do you mean "OUR" friends
Paul: well aren't they mine too?
Nan: well, only by default since I'm a nice person you get more friends
Paul: you nice, ha, they haven't met you yet
Nan: okay no friends for you.

:grouphug: thanks to you my dear we know him well,
Paul, you are welcome to call me friend and I'm sure the rest concur. :)

I talked to Brittany-they'll come to NY with me ::yes::

It'll make Kayla and Stef and Britt and Jesse and Chad that much more comfortable with each other before we sail :boat:

She is the best writer...so descriptive...so real!

I think that family of hers fuels her writing extremely well too.

Did you read about the trip with her sister-in-law yet? That story was classic! All 40some parts!

lymi,

I guess you finally made it to the doctor-or should I say found it :rotfl:

I heard ya coughing, glad you're feeling better.

Mom: I'll put as much on the list as I can

I like to use first names only - I assume that's what you mean.

The sloganizers aren't gone - they just go loopy every once in awhile - like some of the smileys do. x
