sorry I'm not too chatty...my mother called me today, we hadn't talked since Thurs (we usually talk daily, often several times!) I dunno...nothing exciting here...gorgeous weather (sunny 60), but what can one do outside in January??!! Oh, well, crummy weather supposed to be here tomorrow!

I, too, was a "band geek"--majorette. Sorry, but the band partied harder than anyone else I knew!!! (although the druggies might disagree...!)

Basketball games for Marcus & Hailey today...no school tomorrow, work day Tues. Not terribly exciting and I am kinda in guttle mood...have been perusing recipes so cooking (and EATING) mood!

Not much else...I'll be lurking...

Kris

Colleen: Thanks to you & your trusty camera....42 pics to add to my costco order today. I still need to go hru Aislings and Grims...I printed mine last night...

Paul "how much more did youspend on pictures??"
Nan "does it really matter?"
Paul "ok, not really"
Nan "go back in your cupboard"
Paul "cluck"

Have a good Sunday all we are off to the pet store.

My life altering experience is more internal than external...

I am happy for the wonderful new friends I spent my 2005 holiday week with in the glorious sunshine of Florida and the Carribbean (or is it carribean now  )

I am sad that you all live so far away...

It makes me happy to look at all the wonderful photos we are sharing from our experience,

It makes me sad that we all live so far apart...

I am happy for the invention of the internet, cause it makes my far away friends feel so close to my heart

Ok...I'm done...LY all MI !!!

Ditto on all accounts! :flower:

Sorry I've been out of the loop. So busy with regular work duties AND yearbook deadline tomorrow. Yes, I"m working my hot cross buns off on my 3 day weekend (in between respites on the couch with Grim  )

I started looking at programs for getting paralegal certification yesterday. It looks like it will be fairly easy and short since I already have a bachelor's degree. yay!

SO happy to see Chad and Paul posting, and what great posts they both were. While Chad's had me on the verge of tears, Paul's had me laughing so hard that I was, again, ON THE VERGE OF TEARS! I mean, I know I'm overly emotional, but geeze!

Ok, we're going to look at the house and then its back to work for me! I miss you all!!!! :sad1:

It's nice to come home from work and see all who have visited our thread :)

I started writing a trip report to my threadkiller friends but am hesitant to post it here for fear that we might get moved to the trip report board...what do you guys think I should do? Post it here or go over to the trip report board and put it there?

Dede, that's good news. We'll be here waiting to celebrate with you when you accomplish your goal. :cool1: <--------Dede

Tig, I say post your TR on the TR board, so that others can read it, as well as our bunch. I can't wait to read it. I wish I could write a trip report, but I honestly feel it's overwhelming. There's so much to report, and with being a detail freak, my report would be loooong. Get posting, lady! (please!! :) )

OK...I'll put it on the trip reports board

If you want a preview, the threadkillers are already getting it ;)

Hi All
Had a stomach virus. Much better now. I didn't take as many pictures as everyone else. I was just enjoying the moments. I knew everyone would take marvelous pictures (and you have) so am just copying them. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The few pictures I did take are now in photobucket & the connection is in my sig.
Jill :earsboy:

Jill: I wondered what had become of you. Hope you are well now.

I've gotten the bit of a cold (I hope just a cold) from Wilson. Are sinus infections contacious? I forgot to ask his doctor.

Molly and I are headed out to a party shortly. It's at a place called Rasberry Lips. High School girls make fancy hairdos and make up the little girls. It's the latest craze. I'm okay with the hair but I could do without the makeup part. I'll post if we get some good pics.

Have a nice day,

Nan

Hi all!

Jill, glad you're feeling better. Stomach viruses are the worst!

Nan, the raspberry lips place sounds cool. I think it would be neat to open up a place like that here, and throw princess parties or hair/makeup parties for girls.

I'm just taking a break while I upload some pictures to our yearbook website. One more deadline (end of march) and then I'm through with this book! yippee!

Tig, can't wait to read your trip report!!

later!

Speakin of pictures. I just downloaded to my computer 95% of Aislings pictures. Sure glad I have discs from Nan.
Now I'm sitting here looking at pictures from grim & dede. I was looking at Disneyland pics first. Now I'm going to check others out. It will probably take forever - but I'm going to download grims pics also.
Jill :sunny:

I'm not doing a long drawn out trip report...

it's more like a recap with pictures ;)

Penny (our puppy) thinks I need to get up with her at 6am everyday so I'm pretty pooped tonight. Got some dishes to do and a bed to hit ~

TTY again Soon,

~colleen~

Hailey had here fifth bday that way! A salon in town offers dos (think wedding), and nails for 8 girls for $100 (well, it was 3 years ago...) Seems like I mentioned it to you when Molly had her bday. Hailey has mentioned she might want to do it again. Frankly it is pretty cheap these days, I just gotta bring cake, drinks & treat bags (DON'T get me started on those stupid things!)
I used to balk at the cost of offsite bdays (read: not at home). But frankly by the time I buy pizza, crafts, it is no less than doing it off site! We have had several at home, and several other places. Kids seem to enjoy both! Sleepovers have been a big hit, and everyone had bdays when the weather is generally good, so they are always happy to play outside. But I have a secret...I HATE doing bday parties! I think I'm a pretty good mom, but these drive me nuts for some reason! They are always fine in the end...but I still hate 'em! (even bought Marcus off one year...we couldn't find a free weekend, so he got the cash I would have spent--he was pretty pleased!)

I have spent the weekend purging my recipe collection...I LOVE recipes & recipe books! (and usually cooking, too...but not as much! :scratchin ) I made homemade mac & cheese /w ham Sat, chili yesterday (I don't recommend the rotel HOT tomatoes AND spicey V8 for the same pot--SPICEY!), and tried a frittata for the first time tonight. Everything was a big hit! (kids didn't do chili--Hailey would have if it had been tamer!) Been eating at home every night...I do pretty good at that if I plan menus ahead...
I'm proud of how we have been staying w/in our tight budget this month! (Maybe not for long...have been trying to fax child care/med receipts to flex all weekend...keeps saying did not go through, try again! If they don't get it tomorrow, the cash won't be there until NEXT Friday...almost the next payday! I have several businesses I am dealing w/ stupid issues like this right now, and it makes me TESTY!)

Well, work day tomorrow...Bachelor tonight! Kids are watching some Nickelodeon thing, so after that....

Again...I babble....
I probably won't get pics posted until after the first of Feb...sorry, kids....
Kris

Take your time with the photos...

but if I don't see em by June I'll be-a-callin! ;)

DH is my lifesaver, I work late nights 4 nights a week and he's got something made and ready for me every night when I get home. He's a great cook! The night we got home from the cruise I knew Mom wouldn't have had many groceries in the house and I KNEW my hubby would be making something wonderful. He made a roast that day, didn't he Mom? As good as the cruise chef's are my John is better. seriously...Mom graciously agreed to join us for dinner that evening. princess: princess: :groom:

John is absolutely a great cook. Both my DD did exceptionally well with DH's that are excellent cooks. Ask them if they want a rotisserie or new oven or something like that. Of course, the tv's are in that room & that would also be where they hang out. (& the alchohol) :sunny:

he he (sounded like Tori 'eh) I like those too. I'm not sure I saw the one of the girls I'll have to go back to snoop Jill's bucket again.

Unrelated...need some prayers and pixie dust again. Talked with my mom tonight and Dad is back in the hospital. He fell twice today, mom can't get him up so she has to call 911 for the firemen to come and lift him. Upon the second fall they decided he was just too weak and needed the help, so off he went. Lee & I are going up there this weekend. We will try to convince them to come back with us. Our plan is to find a nursing home for Dad to recover (hopefully) and Mom will stay at Lee's. Not sure they will work with us on this idea or not. Dad has become so stuborn about staying in the mountains. But it just isn't reasonable to expect that mom can care for him all by herself. They are 5.5 hours away in good weather, the last 1.5 hours are thru mountains and 3000 foot elevation increase. We are headed into a rainy week here, so it may be snowing up there...arrrgggg....parents, what can ya do? :faint:

I'm glad I can drop you all a note and ask for some extra support, it gives me extra comfort to know you're out there.

When is the next cruise, book me Dano. Seriously, Tigg, are you thinking about a room share for the 4 day or did you say your hubby was coming? What kind of prices are you seeing for that trip?

Bed time in CA, talk to you guys later,

Nan

Nan, my thoughts are with you. You have it tough now, I know. What if your father refuses to move closer to you? Maybe get them live-in help where they live in the mountains? Have your two other sisters been much help? Lots of love being sent your way.

Dede, how's the new house coming along?
