Christmas Cruising 2005

Went to dinner and back again...have I told you all we got another dog? Brittany did really  Told me while I was at work that she was bringing it home :dog:

She is adorable...a schitzu (spelled it wrong so it won't get edited ;) )

I've taken photos of her, will probably load tham up sat/sun.

Got laundry to catch up with so I may pop back in later.

Hi all Home from our Tday dinner, it was yummy, and yeah no mess to clean up at my house, double yeah!!! Paul is snoozing on the couch, Wilson is in the tub, Molly on the way to a shower and I'm here zoning out....

Our big news of the night is that my nephew got engaged!!! His wife to be is wonderful. She used to be our nanny, so we have a special love place in our family for her. She worked for us for almost 3 years, 12/00-9/03. Her name is Shawna, his name is Tyler and they expect to have a wedding sometime in 2006. We are all thrilled that Tyler finally asked her. They have been together for 7 years, living together for the last 2. Molly hopes to be a flower girl, we just hope for a loving long life for them together.

Well with that I'll bid you all good night and check back with ya tomorrow,

Nan

p.s. congrats on the new doggie, what's it's name?

Happy Birthday (early) Tori!!!

Nan :rose: I'd love to see pics of your garden one day...

I have Dede's swap and Mom's, Aislings and Nans have been mailed ... Karen, Lynn, Tori? Anybody else gonna mail me the items or will you be bringing them onboard? Who else owes me a swap item? Chime in now so I can get these started when the boxes get here please...

Susan, swap details are in the link in my sig, PM me if you have any questions please :)

Mom had suggested we try to find Franco while at SOG and give him one of the extra swap boxes...any body else have a specific suggestion for our current 5 extras?

Karen, PM me about your swap...I think you can use the idea you told me you have and easily expand that for Kayla to be involved...I'll fill you in privately on my idea ;)

Time to go nite nite soon, gotta go back to work in the am.

I am still off on Sunday, Aisling and Karen-will you still go to the store or is the trip totally cancelled now? It's ok - if it is, we meet in four weeks anyway :grouphug:

Happy Tears Kris, right?

I'll check back tomorrow night, have a great nigt everyone :)

Love that name...picture coming right?

BTW, tomorrow is the anniversary of when Paul and I met...14 years ago!!! :cool1: And 9 years for us to be married, our really anniversary is 11/30, but since we got married on the Tday weekend, we count tomorrow like that too...hard to believe 14 years ago tomorrow, met the love of my life. We met in a biker bar and thumb wrestled for our first dinner date. (I won) Hard to believe how time has flown by....

N

Congratulations Nanette and Paul

I have a feeling he let you win to get the date ;)

I'll get a picture up this weekend, my turn to be lazy :duck:

No special meeting story for John and I, we started dating our senior year in high school. I am three weeks older than him, we were in the same grade together.

That's a special story in itself. How many years for you guys?

You've earned a degree of lazy from your long hours at work lately (and the fact that I'm a slug in general) :rotfl2:

Trying to decide who will go shopping for the kids stuff....perhaps online, I'm not looking forward to the store lines. hhhmmmm

N

Anyone awake this morning? Paul was disappointed that he didn't get up at 4am to go shopping, NOT!

Today we are going to decorate the house with Xmas lights and get suitcases prepacked. Arrrghhhh, I don't want to fo that!!! But I know if we do we'll be happy for it.

Have a good Friday !

Nan

Happy Leftover Day!

Had a wonderful, uneventful Turkey Day!

Tig - good idea - let me run it by Kayla.

Be on the lookout for PM's this weekend for Pay Pal info.

Can you believe 29 days!!!!

Lovely Thanksgiving..and the festivities continue today w/ football, soup & leftovers! I was very good yesterday, until after a few glasses of wine I began to assist w/ supper clean up & someone had brought dip...bacon, cheddar & cream cheese...clear someone's plate...take a bite...wash a couple of dishes...take a bite...after several bites, I excused myself for fear I would eat the whole thing! YUMMY!
Watched Xmas w/ the Kranks & Survivor today...then heavy duty cruise talk. One couple is bringing 1 year old & 2 1/2 year old on the ship & we discussed packing...at least she appreciated my research efforts! Looks like she may have Shirley at theperfectgift.cc do a beach toy basket for the boys.
Some sad news on the home front...but it could be worse. Some good friends of my brother's house burned to the ground yesterday. Luckily no one at home. But she does run a daycare from their home. But I am glad they are OK. Good friends of our lost his parents in an Xmas morning fire 2 years ago. They just lived down the street from his parents and the neighbors came and got him at 3AM Xmas morning...sadly no smoke detectors (and this in a very well-to-do neighborhood!). Hope this isn't one of those things that comes in threes...
Tig--I think those are the cutest puppies! This from a cat person! (I can't spell it either!) And yes those were tears of joy! Kranks got me a bit weepy, too, at the end!
4 weeks from today I will be packing.....
Happy bday Tori!
Congrats Nan & Paul!
Happy pre-packing everyone else!
Dan & I may be the most dressed up person in our group! They are all balking at ties & jackets...looks like a lot of polos & khakis even for formal night! I was worried Dan would take this as permission to leave his suit at home, but he insists he is still taking it. (ok, now he said maybe just his navy jacket..I'm OK w/ that, I bought it last year at 75% off and he has yet to wear it!) I'm glad, cuz Hailey & I will be decked out. I think BIL/SIL that are attorneys will be dressed up...they do a lot of dressy activities. Who knows. Heck, the boys might be the most dressed up in trop shirts instead of polos! Luckily MIL is insisting on khakis & collared shirts for dinner...most would be happy to dine in shorts! (funny, many dressed up somewhat for dinner yesterday!)
Well, haven't read the boards yet...should go check it out!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Kris

Sounds Like Good Times all around...

Had a good Black Friday at work, stayed open an extra hour to accomodate a lady buying skis for her son.

I have to work tomorrow so I'll be checking back in afterwards...

nite nite

Am sitting here typing in dark w/ many typos...just woke up at 6AM
Tig, I can tell your fatigue in your short post! An exciting time, but certainly exhausting.
Not much to add here...
have a great weekend everyone!
Kris

Not up early here. Stayed in bed for a while a snoozed.

We're off in a bit to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, last day to enjoy season passes, then tonight friends joining in to ride the Roaring Camp Holiday Train thru the redwoods. Kinda like a mini Polar Express(but I don't think Santa is at the end). They serve hot chocolate and sing Xmas carols.

So, I must get off my duff and go shower and ready myself and the kids to the day.

Catch ya later,

N

p.s. Tori Happy (amost) Birthday...I've been waiting until it's closer :goodvibes

your going on the magic over christmas this year? me too.. reply me back at Disneykid313 and maybe we are the same age and could meet up. If you can, reply back at Disneykid313. Thanks

Hi all!

Grim and I went to the Depeche Mode concert last night. It was fabulous! (a bunch of 30-somethings dancing around and screaming..hehe) The band looked and sounded amazing though :goodvibes

We're going to the "zoo lights" at the wildlife world zoo down the road from our house tonight with some friends.

Thanksgiving was nice, but seemed kind of rushed. Dinner at 2pm at SIL's house, then over to friends' house for dinner at 5pm. Needless to say, we were overstuffed.

Grim's our getting our Christmas tree and decorations from our storage facility so we can put the tree up tomorrow. I can't believe that its finally almost December!

Glad everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

That's all for now!

::MinnieMo Dede princess:

Heyy everyone! How are ya'll!? I am doing good over here..How was everyone's thanksgiving!? Mine was pretty sweet with my whole family. I love this time of year when everyone gets together!! I went to do my Christmas shopping today..The mall was CROWDED! But I got it done and I am happy because I don't have to shop n e more! yippee1 even though I LOVE to shop! haha Does anyone know how many teens will be planning on going to the stack? I know I am, I thought it would be cool if we all got together and hung out on this cruise, I haven't really ever went and tried to make friends on the cruise but this year is totally different! hehe Well if anyone could let me know that'd be great! Hope everyone has a safe christmas shopping!!

25 DAYS FROM TODAY AND I'LL BE DRIVING DOWN TO DISNEY WORLD/ DISNEY CRUISE LINE!! hehe

Wonderful 3 days w/ the family here...I am ZAPPED now. I am dreading decorating tomorrow...I am seriously considering a "Christmas w/ the Kranks" Xmas here...of course, we have Scouts here next week, so pretty much gotta decorate or look stupid. Gotta do at least some cookies for Girl Scout swap....gotta get a few gifts...Can ya tell I'm too tired to worry about this stuff! I just HIT the brick wall!
I am frustrated w/ our church Xmas program. Only 6 Sundays to practice, and this year they picked obscure, ridiculously difficult songs! Hailey doesn't want to do it cuz they are too hard, and frankly I agree! Not sure what to do about this one...
Dede--Depeche Mode!!!! One of my FAV bands in high school! (alternative was my fav...cannot WAIT for that U2 concert in 3 weeks!)
Found Hailey another Santa gift (which means now I gotta find the boys each one more....) A charm bracelet, and I picked up 4 Princess charms (Tink, Aerial, Cinderella & Belle--they didn't have any others) plus Minnie. How could I resist??!!
Well, all, gonna be an early night here...GORGEOUS day here, I did a bit of shopping w/ the gals...supposed to get cold and snowy after today :worried:
BUT that will make the cruise all the more fab!
G'nite kids!
Kris

Hi Gang,
I'm back from a very rushed and very stuffed Thanksgiving. My SIL did all the cooking herself, and there was a ton. Traffic from upstate was so bad, but expected. It was fun getting together.

Before we left to go upstate, I was trying to squeeze into a very pretty sweater that fit, but was too short, not covering my tummy as much as I'd prefer. So I got the bright idea of standing on my coffee table and having Jesse pull the sweater down on one side and my nephew doing the same on the other side, to stretch the material. Well, guess what I went right through the table!!! It happened so fast, I broke right through the slats of the table and the kids were standing there with disbelief on their faces. I absolutely died laughing. The bad part is that all weekend long, that's all I've been hearing about, making fun of me! But it wasn't me, it was the pulling, I swear!!!! :rotfl2: It was a dumb thing to do, but I stand (uh, stood) on that table all the time, to hang frames, adjust my drapes, etc. Anyway, I guess you had to be there! :rotfl:

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving. No matter what is happening in life, I'm sure we all have things to be thankful for. I know it sounds corny, but there's a song by Yanni called Love Is All, and it's so true.

Our mini meet has been postponed, but you girls have my cell, so if you come spur of the moment, I can run over to WoD for a while. And then I'm going to sleep! Well, at least try to lay down with my bedroom door closed for a while without having to do anything. I need to recharge my batteries! I was out shopping a little this evening, and boy I wish I had tons of money. There's so much I want to buy for the cruise, but I have to be practical.

So Tori, you're almost 14. Getting excited about your birthday? What a silly question, of course you must be excited. My birthday is on Wednesday, and I always act the birthday-girl part on that day. Grim, isn't your birthday coming up as well?

Hi Disneykid313. My son Jesse is 13. There will be kids your age from the Dis on the cruise. Keep posting, and get to know us!

I can hardly wait to meet you all. This is going to be an unbelieveably fantastic trip, I know.
I'm going to get some air now, take a walk and relax. It seems like an oxymoron, but the business of the city relaxes me. Hugs to you all. :grouphug:

Me and Jaimie have gotten talking online..Jesse needs to get on so we can all chat together! We are planning on hanging out during the cruise..Jesse should join us! My friends just got back today and they had a total of 10 ppl in their buddy grouup..they said they had a blast and I am hoping to do the same no matter how many people we have! hehe

Aislisg- Of course I am excited about my birthday! hehe I seem to play the part too! Anyone else have a birthday coming up!? Or one during the cruise??

Have been running around all morning...good nights sleep has changed my tune!
Printing off journal pages for the kids as we speak!
Thinking WALGREENS is going to do the Grandma calenders this year! I just have to print a set of pics.
Cookies...I'm thinking bark dipped pretzels are EASY!
Xmas letter...might be AFTER the cruise!
I need to go through gifts...items for the cruise....
OK OK, so I had 2 cups of coffee BEFORE I hit Starbucks this morning!!!
Snow predicted here...the first one was nice, but after that YUCK!
Well...on a roll...better stay on it!
Kris
