Christmas Cruising 2005

Aisling you get the prize. :rotfl:

Kamakazie Mix - Vodka, lime juice & triple sec. :drinking1

I don't know about pooling tips. Usually bartenders, if there is more than one, might do that if you are giving them a tip. The nights we went there was only one bartender at the bar. There are also waiters & waitresses.

For the servers & room host/hostess I used the envelope for each individual one & went to guest services & bought a receipt for each one. Or as they say in the book if you want to put cash in that envelope it's ok. I guess a phone card is good. Hopefully they are somewhere they can use it. Cell phones don't work at sea.

okay on laundry service, but you gave someone left over drink mix???? I knew what a kamakazie was (as that is what is famous at the bar that Paul and I met at) but....not sure that' s much of a tip for someone....not like you'd pack it home would ya? Is that really what you meant?

Happy Birthday Tori!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Monday Christmas Cruisers~
:boat: the countdown has begun :hyper:

Mika showed the puppy whose boss yesterday, gave Mom a bit of a heart attack too :(

There is usually someone in the house and yes, there are times when the dogs are home alone...but they do fine :)

The animals usually sleep when noones home :dog: :dog: :cat: :fish:

OK - here's the final word on tips. Between Laurie & I we gave the room host $80 (the recommended amount would have been $ 50. That's for 7 days we were there for 10), a roll of quarters & since I hate wasting alcohol we offered him the mix. He thought it was really great. (IT tasted good too)

POTC July 7th, 2006 Kayla is going to be beside herself. (I can't wait either!)

In reading other posts, someone suggested gift card from Walmart or Target so the CMs can buy necessities. The thread mentioned some CMs get to go ashore when the ship docks at PC and do some shopping and have some free time. The CMs remaining on the ship can give a shopping list and their gift cards to the shore leave CMs to pick up stuff. I thought that was a good idea.

I love puppies no matter how old. (Every dog is a puppy to me!) Kayla is dying for one, but we are NEVER home and that just isn't fair. That's why we usually have cats. Tig enjoy the new member to your family.

Please add Kayla to the swap. Tig gave us a MAGICal idea!!

Nan - I love the red and the sparkles. I cannot wear red or acutally I choose not to because of my red hair. I don't think it looks good on me. However, it looks fabulous on Kayla!

Grim new shoes - better get them soon so you can break them in. I wouldn't want you limping about the ship! And thanks for the 3 weekend notice. Where did the time go? :confused3

Nan, you were going to be a parrot??? That's hilarious! What did Paul think of you're idea? I could think of a few Polly wanna cracker jokes, but this is a family board! ;)

Well, tomorrow's my birthday. Grim, isn't today your birthday??? And Tori's yesterday, and Jill's. I like to spend my birthday alone, just doing my own thing, feeling my sense of self. And then I'm ready for the family party in the evening.

Tiggie, I have to talk to you about the swap. I don't want to post here so not to spoil it for everyone else. Surprises!

It's so funny that when I first booked the cruise, I had so many clothes and shoes planned to bring. Now I really want to keep it to a minimal. I'm sort of a fashionista, so I feel funny wearing the same thing twice on the cruise, but now I don't feel like that at all. You're such a comfortable group of pals. I plan on doing a load of laundry while on board, yeah I know it's crowded, but I have patience so as to not have to bring tons of clothes. I just know on excursion days, we need two sets of clothes after coming back all sweaty.

So I hereby take my fashion sense and toss it overboard!!!!! Ah what a relief!

I'm waiting for a call from Jesse's nose doc. He's going to need plastic surgery to correct his deviated septum, since a bone is involved. I was very nervous about this, but after talking to so many people, I feel let's get it done, especially since he wants it done for appearance sake, and for breathing of course!
Did you see the pic he posted from my photobucket on the teen board?? Wow he's getting sociable all of a sudden!

Happy Birthday Girlfriend  :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Tomorrow is our 9th anniversary, Paul's bday is next Monday. We haven't come up with any great ideas to celebrate, oh ya, we're taking a cruise next month, that'll do just fine :rotfl2:

Had my eyes checked today and they are still dilated. I'm fighting off a migraine as we speak. It was a dossie of a check. Too much light directly in my sensitive eyes. I'm off for a nap, perhaps to wear off the drugs....

See ya later,

N

The COLD has me in hibernation mode...not good at a time when I have much to do for the holidays as well as the cruise! Have been cuddled in bed reading by 8:45 or 9:00 each night! YIKES! And NO Xmas decor up! Dan did begin bringing totes up from the basement this year. SO the next couple of nights I will be busy.
It is Dan's bday tomorrow! But we are out to dinner tonight since Survivor is on tomorrow, and our Tivo is on the fritz. (sad, really...)
Luckily did not have much shopping this year, and I know what I need to get, so very close to done--very proud of myself!
My girlfriends & I are getting together w/ the kids Fri. night for drinks & cookie making! (not sure how the two together will go!)
Trying to watch the budget closely this month...vowing to clean out the freezer & only to go for essential groceries...(had friend's FULL freezer go dead while on a week vaca! YUK!) But Marcus needed new glasses (only SEVEN months since the last pair!) Ouch! My careful budget is getting unneeded dents in it!
Well, am at work, so really should DO some work!
I'll chat later...we all seem very busy these days!
HAPPY BIRTHDAYS JILL, TORI, GRIM, AISLING, DAN! CRAZY!
BYE! :wave2:

Tonight at 9pm on the Food Network, Giada (man, is she gorgeous) is doing a Behind the Bash at WDW. And from 8 to 9 they are doing a Holidays at WDW. If it is the same one from last year - it is amazing! Those of you lucky enough to visit WDW before and after the cruise are in for some treats for the eyes!!! The Gingerbread houses around the resorts are amazing. These shows are repeated several times during the month if you miss it tonight.
