Christmas Cruising 2005

If we agreed, the date was November 27th.

This way Mom can come, she's off on Sunday.

~~~
My FIL went to NY yesterday, there are buses out of a local station here ($38 round trip tho) that goes right to Penn Station. He brought me a schedule for it but the cost seems a little high. :confused3
Dad had to go to the German Consulate, he's getting a new passport---of course yesterday was a german holiday and they were closed.
Depending on how close you are to a NJ transit train line, it usually cost less that $20 RT to go into Penn Station. I live near the PHilly airport but often drive to Hamilton or Princeton (about an hour away) and then take the train into NYC for $18 RT on off-peak times. The parking at Hamilton or Princeton Junction is only $3 per 24 hours.
Tig: Great!!!! It all works out.
:banana: :banana: Mom paid off the trip last night. I have 10:30 CC parasailing for me, Kayla and my neice (Actually it is under Dominick's name, but I figured I can switch to my neice once on board. This way she is with us!!!) So Jill and Nan - I did it, I booked myself - don't let me back out. :banana: :banana:
I also booked 3:00 Thursday high tea & Palo dinner on Monday at 6:30 for 3 of us (because we cruised before), I just hope I can get the other 5 adults with us at that time, too. If not we'll plan B it - I just don't have a plan B yet!
Karen: You have to not let *me* back out :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Glad to hear you got your ressies for Palos.
Aisling/Kris: Good luck with the late night up to ressie. It wasn't a funny night for me staying up to make my WDW ADRs. I was nervous the whole time. Hope you are more relaxed.
I have started to reach AKL, but we are playing phone tag...I called left a message they called back and left a message, I guess it's my turn to call again, although they said they'd try me again....
Ok, I guess it's well known by now that some concepts elude me, so I won't be ashamed to ask this: We have to get up at 2:45 AM because it'll be 12:01 Pacific Time on Sunday which will be 75 days out??? Ok, I'm on Eastern Time, so can I go online at 12:01 AM on Sunday morning and book my Palo/excursions? But Kris, for you it's 2:45 because of the time difference??? But why 2:45 and not 2:01? Please help!
Aisling - the reservation system is on Pacific time. So for us (you in NY and me in NJ) to make our reservations, we need to be up at 3:01 AM Eastern time Monday, October 10th. If you go to make them at 12:01AM Eastern time, they will not let you. Monday is 75 days out. I will be up then to book for the rest of my family, so you will be in good company! Does this help? :confused3
I went back to see if our old thread was still listed, as I wanted to show someone Grim's beautiful nighttime in the Savannah picture, and it was no longer there! Sniff, sniff, tear. :sad:
If you could see my desk (for that matter if I could see my desk!) plus the fact it is month end .... I really need to get to work!
I am just not skilled in such things .... thanks, Nan.
This one?
The picture is brighter than the actual scene. When you're there, it just looks like moonlight. That's a pretty long exposure. It's hard to get those giraffes to sit still for so long....
Aisling...as I understand it...Disney told me that I may do ressies on Oct. 10, 75 days out, so Monday. From my lurking, ressies open at 12:01AM PST, which is 2:01AM my time, and 3:01AM your time. Someone else mentioned 2:45, (sorry, don't remember who!), so they must be in your time zone, just getting up a little early to wake a bit, I suppose.
Mine are kinda at the worst time. At least 12 or 1 I could stay up for, or 3 I could go to bed for a while...guess I can try that...Try to get 3 hours in.
Well...gotta run
Kris
Grim: I love those guys!!!! I don't remember seeing it on the old thread, must have been before my time, but....I really did read all those 100+ pages to get caught up, I guess I now need to go back and re-read since I know all of you now....Great Picture, remind me to ask you to take one of my long legged child on the cruise in the moonlite :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Nan
You can also celebrate Columbus Day & discover things :rotfl: :rotfl2:
Thank you Grim, that's the one. Stunning!!!
And I said 2:45 so I can get situated and stumble down to the computer. It will take 15 minutes just to get used to the light and for me to remember why the alarm went off so early.
Working on my spreadsheet tonight.
Thanks for the clarification. I thought ressie's opened on Eastern time. That's how it works for ADRs AKA PSs. Whatever, I'll be up and ready!
Grim, what an awesome shot. Gorgeous. Just think, we'll be there again soon. Has anyone made a PS for Boma or Jiko? So far, we won't be arriving until around 8 PM, but I think I'm going to be able to change it to earlier with no problem. I thought we'd be staying at the Hyatt, so I planned on working that dat and sending Jesse to school, and then just crash into bed at the Hyatt. But now that we're staying AKL, I'll work the morning, take Jesse out of school after he gets all his assignments, an dhop on an earlier plane. Mel and Chad are free that day (12-23), so they do what I say! :rotfl:
I want to hear more about all of your pirate outfits!
I just realized. I won't be home Monday morning! :scared1: Neither will my whole party going on the cruise. We are going away for a long weekend together. What time can I call for booking excursions over the phone?
Got it! Thank you!
Wanna join us in NYC on November 27th?
~~~

I just got home, boss took our "team" to the store tonight. The employees do not know the company is being purchased so we had to go in after they closed. Good thing they close early, we got there at 8:30 and took about 2 hours to go thru all three floors.

I'm bushed...I'm gonna read what you all wrote and go to bed.

~~~
Congrats on the ressies Karen!
Mine started early taking my truck up for its tune up, payroll goes in early this week (no DISing at work today-til later anyway) and Elisabeth, our Austrian visitor, gets picked up at the high school at 9pm.
