Christmas Cruising 2005

Hey what's all this old and fat talk!!
I think Jim and his family would like to be in the gift swap, but he needs to talk to his DW and she is off doing college visits with no. 1 DD so I'll let you know on that one.
Are you all ready for Palo bookings and excursion ressies. Last week I made dinner reservations for the week before the cruise at WDW and we also got an illuminations cruise booked and a Segway tour so that week is all set.
What excursions are you planning if any?
We fancy the 12m regatta at St Marrten and Captain Nautica on St Thomas plus the jet skis on Castaway Cay.
Did I dream a post that said there were some recent Eastern Navigators somewhere? Can anyone tell me where?
It will be exciting to hear from the cruisers after the refit won't it.

Hi Lynn :wave2: Most of my crew is also planning the Captain Nautica as well.

Tig: I love your picture ... will have to get Dominick to post some from our first trip. Made sure all of the grandparents were there for Kayla's first visit - what a blast. Dom and I spent all our time watching them watching her! It was priceless and everything I had hoped it would be. Great memories. But then all my Disney trips have great memories. This one will too!

Off to make potato salad and mac and cheese for the party tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Lynn,

Hehe, I stayed up last night so I could make our resies because I thought it was 90 days today. Guess I'll have to do it again tonight. I thought it was '3-months', but I guess it's actually days.

We have finally decided on our excursions. We are doing the Golden Eagle Catamaran on St. Marten, and the Doubloon Sail on St. Thomas.

It's great that you got the Illuminations Cruise! We have done that before and it was fabulous! We felt like movie stars with all the people on the bridge looking down at us murmuring 'why are they so special?'.

I'm really getting a tummy tuck...eventually...not really in the budget right now. I've had 3 Csections, so essentially the same surgery! I was back at work (when I owned the scrapbook shop) a week after having Jack! The second day is pretty crappy...mostly cuz you get gassy & that HURTS near the incision. My girlfriends were always amazed how quickly I was mobile...they were considering Csections after watchihg me get around!
Marcus has been our high maintenance kid from day one. He was crabby unless he was held for the first 5 months. (at 2 months we went to the state fair--he would have NOTHING to do w/ the stroller, and had to be held facing front--not over your shoulder like a normal baby--so he could see the action!)
At 5 months he figured out how to sit up & VIOLA, happy baby. Slept through at 7 months (Ferberized him). He is SO sensitive, requires a playmate, and is never satisfied...always thinking about what else he could be doing or getting...
Hailey was SUCH a happy baby, and a huge sleeper, though didn't sleep through until 11 mos. Tried to Ferberize, but her crying jags got LONGER & LOUDER each night...proving her stubborn streak. She is a lot like me...not as sensitive as Marcus, but lower maintenance overall. Generally goes w/ the flow, but can get into crying jags...
Jack & Hailey can entertain themselves. Love playmates but not necessary.
Jack...ummmm...don't really remember. I do know he was our worst sleeper overall. Sad how you forget w/ the third one...but he is charming, hysterical & ornery. Our little unexpected addition to our house has truly rounded out our family...and definitely made it a whole lot more interesting!
Dan & I played a bit of poker & then went to the funniest bar. Wierdest assortment of people! Bikers, college kids, older singles, couples. It was like Vegas. We had a BLAST! We needed that!
Gotta wrap this up. Headed to Dan't aunt & uncles for his gram's 80th bday. Love all these people, we will have a blast. Tomorrow EARLY baptism, Boy Scout rocket day, baseball practice. Hoping to slip in a workout since I have been a bit lax.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend all...Sure glad I have you all to touch base w/ each day. Certainly makes my life richer & more interesting!
Kris

I second that emotion about the Illuminations Cruise! It took me three mornings of trying, but I got one last summer, and it was awesome. We got a message from someone on the Dis asking if we'd share, since there were only four of us, so we got to meet a very nice family that night. We had Captain Ron, and he was a riot. One of the hilights was when he took us to a spot where we cold see the end of Fantasmic with Mickey on top of the mountain spewing fire. And the ride by the Boardwalk area all lit up...worth every penny. Congratulations on getting it, Lynn. They're not easy to grab!

I just came back from dropping Jesse off at a friend's house, and heard the commercial for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on the radio! Summer is really over, and Christmas will soon be here. I can't believe we're down to 3 months. I'm almost panicking, thinking "I need more time to plan!"

225 would be alot, dontchathink?
Nan, that was a typo, I meant 25, but actually it wasn't too far off if I'm understanding correctly.
Say if we have 10 families participating, that means I get 250 items, because I put 25 items for each of the families? I know I sound annoying, but I'm serious... please be patient. :badpc: <insert my brain

Hehe Aisling you're too funny. Let's just push the cruise back a month or so, so you can plan a little longer. Does that work for everyone? :rotfl2:

Kris~ I love that you and your husband do "date night" Grim and I do date nights sometimes and we don't even have kids, but I think its important to get out of the every day rut of coming home and just hanging out. Its just special to get dressed up and go out somewhere together. :cloud9:

Lynn and everyone who mentioned Illuminations cruise~ RIGHT ON! I loved that. There were only 4 of us, but I can't imagine having more people. Of course, with me, my sis, and my 6 year old nephew, we just took over the space. Poor Grim pirate:

Tig~once again, love the pics of your family's trip. Not that your kids aren't good looking now, but they looked so cute, excited, fun at that age! I can't wait to have kids and watch them grow up with Disney Land - World - Cruise Line, etc. :earboy2:

Jill~ have you heard from your family in Houston yet? I have a cousin who lives in Texas City - Galveston Island. They evacuated on Wednesday. Also have friends who live on the coast of LA. They went to MO to stay with family.

Karen~ I did musicals in high school, and the cast parties were always SO much fun. Have a great weekend!

Hi Nan!

Have to shower and get ready. Realtor is coming over today. Our first deal fell through, but we have another offer for the house.

bye for now

I would have posted sooner but I worked a double yesterday. When I got home & tried to post they said my Dis database wasn't working. I tried again this morning before going to work same thing. Now it's OK? :confused3 duh

Boy have I got you fooled. I may be considerate & generous - but nice? Ask my inmates They keep thinking I should take a vacation. Of course I agree. Oh, I forgot I'm not supposed to be nice to them (he he)

I told one I/M today he had gotten fat. He retorted I wasn't as thin as I used to be. I reminded him he was 27 & I was almost 60. I'm allowed to be chubby. It seems when you get older it doesn't matter AS MUCH. I just don't look in the mirror much. And, I know why our eyesight goes. It goes you can't see the wrinkles. :rotfl2:

I've been getting antsy about making ressies also. Such a technicality 3 months - 90 days. They are so fussy.

Oh well.

I havn't heard from the Texans yet. The news said even if they can get back there is no food or gas available. I'll check back with them in a few days.

Jill

Aisling: Read my lips....25..... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kris & Dede: I need some teacher help....she isn't getting the math....

:teacher:

Okay Aisling, I'm sending you a box:

disneyboxopen.jpg

disneybox.jpg

To your home address (pm me your mailing address) so you can SEE how big it is.

Each of us has to fit 1 item in the box (by giving me/Tigg your bag of 25 items we will secretly place them in the boxes) and then pass out the boxes at our first meet.

If this is still not clear as mud call me....

I'm emailing you my cell number shortly.....

If you still need more time, I suggest you book another cruise.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can only laugh at this because I totally understand how you feel. Sometimes I just can't get my head around a concept, and it bugs me to death until I do. Don't worry, just bring 25 rats and you'll be fine.... :rotfl:

Nan

Just thought I'd let ya know that Molly & I are off to another scrap Mommy & Me. We are making a Tink heart box. I'll try to snap sp pics to show.

Have a good day all, check in later,

Nan

If you still need more time, I suggest you book another cruise....

OMG Nan, I'm dying with embarrassment and laughing myself to death from your post!

I honestly thought we were supposed to get 25 items for each person, and I thought holy moley, what the heck am I going to get 250 of??

Your greatly oversized font with the numbers has made it very clear. I send you 25 items, you and Tig put them in the boxes, one to a box. OMG I'm glad this is over!

Enjoy your afternoon with your little princess. And thanks!

So in that vein, if anyone wants to "send" their 25 things rather than lug them along please feel free. PM me or Tigg and we'll give you our respective mailing addresses. Once I send the boxes off of course they would have to go to Tigg (ha, see I knew I'd find a way to get you to stuff them all.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: , I know you'd wait and bring them to my room and make me do them huh????) Or worse send them to the room to be there when I arrive.....

Scrap class was fun. Not great...We ran into an old preschool "friend" of Wilson's and she was kinda a downer for me. I should just get over it, but ya know how a mom loves her son right???? So this was his first crush and she just stubbed him and her mom was also a stubber type. Just glad Wilson didn't see her today, he would have had his feelings hurt at this age, where before he didn't really know he was getting stubbed.

Now we are home, Molly with Hannah (broken elbow friend) and the boys stayed at the other house. What a difference it is with the older girls rather than the little boys. I have to be honest I like having the girls better. (at this age) not sure that will remain the case.

I better get out to my pile of real work, eeekkkk....it only pays for my Disney habit if I didn't have that I know I'd quit working....

N

hope to hear about your weekends when I check back later.....

A little while ago, I got an IM from Chad, who's at work. It said "i cant wait for the cruise ma, i saw we were only 90 days away and it hit me."
Then he sent me a link to a cool photo of the Magic at night. So Chad and I started doing the 90 day dance!
Mel and Jesse are still duddish about the whole thing, but they'll get it sooner or later.

I need to get KTTW card holders. We have dry boxs for when we go into port, because they will also carry money, credit card, picture ID, and a copy of the info part of our passports. For daily wear, I'm looking for something simpler. I think the Dis sells lanyard-style ID/park ticket holders. Going to go check right now.

KTTW card holders what are these???? KTTW card holders

Where did you get your dry boxes I need some of those too....
