Christmas Cruising 2005

Jim - Thanks for the pointers and the link to the tips page. I have checked that one out already and bought by closet hanging shoe organizer, duct tape, and baggies! I've also got Christmas decore to the max.

We haven't decorated the house this year so I am going whole hog on the cabin. Do ya'll decorate your doors?

Some decorate the doors a bit, but most just make "Door Magnets", which are VERY handy for spotting your door in the hallway.

Just get some magnetic sheets from staples, office depot, etc.

Google "Disney Christmas Clip Art" and/or "Disney Cruise Photos" and just copy and paste them into a cool sign.

Print them on any desk jet or color printer and your done.

On the main Dis Board Cruise page is a whole lot of examples for you to see.

As for inside the cabin, your imainiation is your limit, but I did find the small trees aren't worth the trouble. Take up too much space and not much payback.

I find the small lights strings, and the garland the best, as well as the removable appliquest to put up on windows, mirrors, etc.

You will find the over the door hangar invaluable!

okay, had to rub it in only 2 more days (okay, 3 if you count today or 4 if you count travel day) I don't!!!!

Man, Jim how many days have we planned this...moving to excel now to do the math....1268 days....we planned on Molly's 5th bday (that we spent at Dland) that we would take the cruise for Wilson's 5th bday, then the school calendar changed so we had to push it out from 2/05 to 12/05, better this way I'm sure. One week vaca turned into fantasy 2 + weeks of vacation.

So, since we have our annual passes who is going to make a summer trip to meet up at the world??? Tigg I know you're in Just gotta find that bargin airfare and me and the kids will be back in a flash.

Wrapping up the last minute stuff...Paul sent the wine, dinner with Grandparents tonight, last minute work (yuck) that's what I have to do now since I told them I'm gone on Friday...I figure that's my pedicure day right club members.

Karen, we did look like the cover I just saw it.... I didn't even plan it that way, but ya know great minds think alike....Me & everyone else who loves Disney that is.

Okay, okay, gotta work...

Risa--we are from Lincoln NE! We have many relatives in KC, and will be there the last weekend of March for my bday (DH said I couldn't do a cruise in Dec. and then again in March....so KC in March, next cruise in Oct!)

We flew out of KC for our first cruise last Oct.!

Hi All!

I can hardly believe we're in single digits!!!!

YAY!!!

The only decorations grim and I are bringing for the cabin are our snowflake stockings. My Mom makes beautiful homemade stockings, and we each have a white stocking with beaded/sequenced snowflakes. I bought stocking hangers to put them up with, and that will be it for inside the room. I did, however, make a magnetic Christmas tree for my door decoration...I just hope my magnetic ornaments don't disappear!

I feel so behind! My house is a wreck, party with grim's family this weekend, yearbook due next Friday! I need some ME time! hehe just a little stressing but I'm done now.

Nan, I love those red sweaters. They look great on all of you. I thought about getting them for us, but never acted on it. I've probably spent enough this Christmas season

Oh- count us in for cruisin' t-shirts for sail away. We were planning on wearing them that day.

Dan wants to watch Boston Legal (TiVo--I think we are behind a couple of epidsodes, trying to catch up!)
Risa--I think my cousin lives in Lees Summit. Aunt & Uncle live very near airport, and Dan's cousin lives just south and west of the Plaza, actually Fairway KS addy. We spend a lot of time with all of them...except my cousin. Not bad, just don't.

Just splurged on another Miraclesuit--they are the only ones to do as good a job as can be done w/ a 3 Csection body! It is brown, though. Kinda like it! (Again, must show off my best assets...to detract from the way less than perfect parts!)

Well...thinking about my U2 concert tomorrow...my rear will be dragging Friday, but SO worth it!

Hi all...back from another days work done, only a few left

as always, my smile gets bigger as the day gets closer

I got your numbers Aisling and Nan, we gotta hook up as we each arrive at AKL. Aisling, are you taking DME to the hotel? Stefanie lands at 9:40 am, we'll be picking her up at MCO then heading to AKL. Will we be having brunch at Boma's? Who'd be all in for that? That day will start my two meal a day dining plan, saves calories and money that way. We'll have brunch at Boma's and then grab something at DTD that night. Who's up for that?

yes I believe we are in for Boma's on Friday right? Do we need some ressies? We'd be a party of 5. What are your plans for Friday? Park time anywhere? I don't have anything fixed for us yet. I'm still hoping that we can have somewhat of a mini meet somewhere in AKL, waiting to talk to my conceirge friends face to face on that idea.

Had our family Xmas dinner tonight, it was good food. Glad to be traveling this Xmas. Sometimes it's nice to get away from the whole extended family scene. This is one of those years for me. Details on board I'm sure we'll dish.

Good morning.....got a new carry on suitcase last night, kinda afraid that the one I have won't carry on, it's been a while since we flew with it.

So wrapping up work today, then that's it.....just waiting......

I think we are ready, last minute stuff I'm sure, but ready for the most part.

Kids got their present from Grandparents last night, DVD player for the airplane, big hit. They watched it in the car all the way home.

Hi Gang,

Tig, our flight gets in at 9:50, on Song. We're taking DME to AKL. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we bumped into each other at the airport? What airline is Stefanie flying?

My sister, her family, and my dad are coming into the city tonight for tomorrow's Christmas party at my house. My mom is already here. I'm feeling the stress, but it'll be ok. My mom and sis are VERY helpful, but I'm one of those people who find it difficult to accept help. Neurotic, I guess! One thing I'm looking forward to is seeing my almost 3 year old niece, Tess. She's an absolute doll, like a little Shirley Temple, with blonde curls and huge blue eyes. And my nephew, Jack the dog. It'll be fun having a doggie in the house for the weekend, since we won't be getting one of our own.

My BIL wanted to do Manhattan, but there may be a transit strike, which will cause chaos, and he'll be doing A LOT of walking, so for his sake, I hope there's no strike.

Nan, I know it's a bit early, but I want to wish you a magical, wonderful, safe trip to WDW. Say hi to Lee for me, and tell her I'm looking forward to meeting her. I have a little giftie for her, too, and no it's not a rat!

Awww Aisling, how sweet. I called Tigg to let you know what flight Stef is on. She works so many hours. She said she'll give you the details tonight.

I just made sure that SOG received my check for the reservation we had made when we get back at WDW. That was the final payment for any reservation that was made before the trip. All that is left is whatever put on the KTTW card on the cruise. Whew.

Thanks for the well travel wishes. I send them back to you and the rest of the Disers here. The airplane is not my favorite part, and Molly is a bit scared of it. Her ears tend to feel bad on the ups and downs. We've got all the tricks and even the numbing drops if it gets too bad.

Still have work to finish, so better stay at it.

Jim--have we really been waiting 725 days for this cruise??? It seems like yesterday that we booked it!! We are all getting so excited! Finished my last class today--have some finals to proctor Sat/Mon/Tue -then I'm done. I'm packing this weekend. Can't wait!!

Hi Christmas Cruisers...checking in again after a long day's work.

Nan, with Aisling coming in early we should be able to book Boma's for a noon meal. Please check with your concierge people and see if you can reserve us a table for 12 for anything after noon? Even tho they all land before 10am it could be 11-11:30 before they all get to AKL.

Aisling, Stefanie is flying spirit flight #nk311m and landing at 9:40. I'll call you when we are there and see if we can catch each other there. Otherwise, we'll see you at the lodge.

There is a seating area on the way out back to the savannah that would be a good place to find each other. I'll try to contact both of you til we find each other.

I have the next two days off, work three and then we'll be on our way

I've been bugging Brittany to get packing, she promised me she'll work on that on saturday she and my nephew are taking another fieldtrip into Philly tomorrow after school.

We got travel size sunblock in at the store today so I picked up two tubes of it. (It was meant for the skiiers but will work just fine for us

We have so much to talk to each other about, do ya think we'll have enough time together and how much will your family hate me for taking all your attention

Your kids look sooo happy, I can't wait to meet everyone face to face...finally!
