Christmas Cruising 2005

Hello, Crabby Patty returning....not crabbie anymore....Paul took me shopping got me new (unmentionables) ok, not that exciting just bras, and more exciting cool new Ray-Bans. I will be the woman in the sunglasses (migraine factor)

So glas to read some newbies!! Hi to you all, sounds like you have it figured out so we might be waling behind you looking for clues (since we can be a bit clueless here sometimes) (well, maybe just me and Aisling...why do I always dump her in with me, I don't know, it's easy, no not her easy, just easy to dump her with me....) :rotfl2:

Okay, Tig, of course I know who you are and what you look like. I just WANT TO SEE THE DRESS (becuase I'm nosy) :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Aisling: Hello!!!! Boys wearing Tuxes here, of course mine is floor lenght. I'm even thinking of bringing the teal too, because I want to waer my fancy new clothes (like I'll ever get to wear them elsewhere)

Paul and I chatted about the rebooking discount today. He say "okay are you booking for next Xmas?" I'm like, no are you kidding it costs lots of money, but now that he thinks that maybe....we should/could look at 2007 Xmas. I can save it up by then. :cheer2:

Jewelry, yes big issue here...might need to get something to carry it in. Not that I have anything great or big here, but I don't have any kind of travel case for it. I usually just bring my pearls and a ring, but I'd like to have more options to enjoy some of my other fun stuff this trip. Also have to pack Miss Molly's glamourous princess jewels, that could take a whole suitcase, tirras (sp) and all....

Celebrating Xmas here on Wednesday 12/14 @ a Chinese resturant. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Just the grandparents (my folks and Paul's) and Auntie Lee of course. We are just boycotting the rest of the family stuff this year. The other 2 sisters and I are kinda (no really) feuding, so it's nice just to leave and not worry about trying to get mom & dad away from then at the holiday.

We got our WDW annual pass vouchers YEAH :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Only need our ME tags now.

Tigg, what are you talking about the forms to fill out. Just the Bahamas form and the other thing online? I was thinking they would be long, but I'm almost done.

Tigg, where do you think you can see dining rotation? Don't we get that on board?

I cancelled my pedi for Xmas, did I tell ya that? Do you care? :rotfl2: TMI....

Got the stocking and decoration bags packed today, yipee. okay, back to packing....last week count down.

Chat with you tomorrow,

N

Drum Roll please......

I finally got him to join us......

Now I hand him the keyboard to see if he will talk.....

HI! (Nan - there, I did it. I actually posted something.)

I actually have no idea what to say, and that is usually because my wife has said it all. I have read lots of the posts and heard lots about all of you from Nan. I look forward to meeting all of you.

And, despite what my wife has said, I am kind of a nice guy - not too grumpy.

Looking forward to meeting you all soon -

(So how did I do on my first post? Did I breach any ettiquete formalities?)

okay, back to me again...was it worth me badgering him to join us? Of course it was....

Got my chicken in the cupboard.

Nite now,

Nan from Paul

Hi Paul

OMG! WOO HOO!
I bought the Sugarland CD last weekend...OH, it is SO good! Gotta load a few CDs on my iPod next weekend! That Brad Paisley/Sara Evans/Sugarland concert was SO awesome...and to think I originally thought we shouldn't go! I thought it was cool all of them were up for major CMA awards just a couple of weeks after the concert! Brad and Sugarland are also up for Grammys!
Lincoln does NOT get major concerts, generally speaking, but the new Qwest center in Omaha is apparently one of the top 5 venues in the country now, so that is SO cool.
Oh, speaking of jewelry...I was watching shopathomeTV last night and saw a a VERY affordable sterling set...I didn't buy it, was trying to search online today but their site is SLOW. I don't wear much gold anymore, so all my real jewels I don't wear much. (Oh, do NOT be impressed, just small pendants).
My wedding & anniversary rings are gold...a friend had hers layered in white gold for $30, very nice. Keep thinking about it. Dan USED to buy me jewelry for most every holiday...now we save our $ for travel! Just FINE w/ that!
I did pick up a few nice sparkly pieces for the cruise last year...they will serve me well again. I LOVE that costume jewlery is cool now! (cuz I do not have the funds for much real stuff!)
Well, better go figure out those swaps. Gotta pick Hailey up from slumber party. Then just found out yesterday that nephew is having bday party at 11:30...gee, need a gift, too! Better get busy!
Bye!
Kris

Hi Paul, or may I call you chicken for short? (chickeninthecupboard, get it?? I kill myself! :rotfl2: )
Seriously, thanks for posting. It was a nice surprise to hear from you. I'm sure you're like the rest of us and can hardly believe cruising time has just about arrived. When do you leave for WDW? I can probably tell by Nan's counter, but as she will attest, I don't do math! :rotfl:

Kris, you must have tons of songs on your ipod by now. Any Disney? Just curious. I love the song from the Little Mermaid, Part of Your World. I also love You'll Be In My Heart, from Tarzan. That's sort of our family song. Whenever we have a WDW trip, I always wake up the family by playing that song. It really adds to the excitement.

A few weeks ago, there was something in the NY Times about the Qwest center, but I never got around to reading it.

Christmas Pageant today at church, my 5th graders are singing one song, and then we can just relax and wait out the rest of the show until Santa arrives. I heard a rumor that our priest is doing double duty today. ;)

Today I have to remember to get some Bonine. Imagine the misery of being seasick, especially on the first night, wheb I've heard it's the worst? I'm not taking any chances!

Have a :sunny: Sunday. Tig, hope you have an easy day at work today, my friend!

The chicken's wife here...we leave in count them 6 days!!!!! We are up early this morning. Molly had a sleepover with her friend here and Wilson went to the other house (they have a boy his age) nice swap 'eh. No siblings fighting for a nite. Wouldn't that be a nice vacation, my kids not fighting.... We (Paul is making them now, I did the coffee) are having pancakes for breakfast. The girls sprang into our room and said are we having pancakes this morning? we said yes and they said the Oujia board was right. It was so funny they broke it out last night for the first time, Molly got it for her bday from Auntie Lee.

We did have a mini freakout last night about our luggage. Paul, wear do we put our suitcases on the ship. Nan, I think under the bed. We can colaspe three into one, but then we'd still have 5 more....yes 2 for each of us. We have to do something to change this. Too many suitcases. Not sure if the cooler is going to make it or not, but it really is practical huh? How would we carry on the booze? :confused3

okay, I'm going to set the table and eat pancakes and then PACK!!!!

Hi again, Everyone!

I'm excited to report that I just received a package from Karen with the Cruise Tees inside! Woo hoo!

The sizes are generous...no squeezing into that shirt for me, thank goodness.
Gotta go. BBL :sunny
:

You got Mail on Sunday??? You lucky New Yorker....we get mail M-Sat, not Sun. Can't wait to see those shirts!!!!!

What else is going on out there?

You learn your dining rotation on the first day. There should be a set of tickets in your room indicating which dining rooms you are assigned to each day. You don't need the tickets to eat, but they do help the servers direct you to your table.

If you want to know earlier it is on the KTTW card (Key to the world).

They had the wrong rotation for us on my last cruise. We just took it to the dining room at the time we should have been there & they fixed it. Also, I think guest services can fix it.

Nan, sorry to hear you arn't parasailing. I've heard so many good things about it I'm going to do it anyway. You only live once & I'm making the best of it.

"CHICKEN IN THE CUPBOARD" Now that's original. I'll bet we don't forget that handle.

Love the shirts.

We took the life jackets out of the closet & put them under the bed which left plenty of room for the luggage in the closet.

I used my carry on to bring my camera & alcohol aboard because you can't put them in the regular luggage on a plane. It doesn't matter this time because I'm driving. If you read our docs they said no coolers but I think the roll on collapsable ones are ok. You, know you can also buy bottles of alcohol on the ship.

Paul (aka chicken) found a wine store to ship a 3 pack bottle holder out to AKL this week via fed ex. One good red wine (for me) a bottle of vintage port, for us all to share as a night cap and our bottle o'khalu. I almost wish it held 4 bottles as I'm a sucker for rum&coke...we'll see if he find a bigger box. So no achohol in carry on. I was thinking too the cooler can carry to movie snacks, resses, junior mints, etc...for the kids,

Ahhh was it life jackets under the bed, that sounds good.

So packing delimina brings me to no outfit for Pirate night for me. Hmmmmm...might have to scrabble something together there.

I hope there is an 80's night, Paul and I have some fab clothes for that complete to our feet. Now that should get ya thinking....Think Muffy & Tad.

The kids are trying the Ouaji board to see if they are going to fight today, :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: yes you are because you can't get it to answer you..... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, Jill, I'm a little bummer about the no sailing too, but I realized Paul was really worried and that isn't worth it for him to stress out over that so maybe another time.

Taking Wilson to a bday party and quick target run....

Ciao,

N

LOVE THOSE SHIRTS....I think you are blurry in real life, perhaps I will try to keep you that way thur the power of Rum and coke :confused3 :rotfl2:

Just returned from nephew's first birthday party...fun times. They are going to have their hands FULL on that ship w/ a 1 year old and 2 year old! Luckily there are 14 adults plus a 14 year old girl to help out! HEY! THERE is a great idea...I'm guessing they would prefer to have the 14 year old niece watch the boys if they need a sitter (plus better availability), plus I'm sure they would rather pay her. She is not a real social young lady, so she would probably like it too! I will have to pass that idea along!
Vicki (the above mentioned's mom) has my Passporter--I am missing it! How SAD is that!
Aisling--got U2 on the iPod right now. (getting in the mood for that concert Thurs!) NO Disney music. Remember I am NOT a Disney fanatic. Now, I think we have Lion King on CD, I could download that.
Feeling frantic again...need to finish one swap project...grandma calenders to finish (NO pics printed, or even selected...)...pretzels for Girl Scouts...should do some schoolwork...workout...dinner...Survivor finale tonight...but next weekend is pretty free except for packing (date Sat. night I think. Friend has a sitter, and since Mom has been gone 10 days, and we will be gone a week, I'm guessing she will be up for babysitting). Oh, it will all get done, it always does! NO WORRIES!
Well, guess I should attack that list!
Bye!
Kris
Grim and Dede are you lurking...so quiet these days!

Heyy everyone! How's it going!? It's going good over here..My Dad wants me to start packing already and my mom, brother, and me are like can't we just wait!? My dad expects me to pack everything and not touch it until we leave but of course..if u REALLY knew me then you'd be like man she can't do that! I always have to have everything ready because my ideas change! hehe

AISLING- I try to stay a normal poster not popping in and out but it's also hard with everything going on now (cruising, packing, christmas, parties, sports!..everything!) But I do my best, we were talking about (the teens..me jesse, and jaimie) how we should meet on the boat, I don't know how because I have a cell phone that anyone can reach me on up until we start to sail, but jaimie might not bring her phone? So I was thinking about room numbers? Being able to call everyones rom, but then I thought how about just telling everyone where to meet on the boat like before or after the sailaway party? I have no clue!?:confused3 Do you have any ideas??

Whoa those T-shirts look sweet! I wish I would have ordered one!:guilty: Oh well you guys can look oh so wonderful in those! hehe

Well foods on the table! Gotta go! See/Talk ya'll soon!

Swap is done...Tig, got your addy! (thanks Aisling!)The chicken will be in the mail tomorrow!

Grandma calenders doing well...mostly gotta get the pics picked & copied.

Downloading new CDs (K. Chesney, Sugarland, 100% funk & 100% disco--think Brick House & Play That Funky Music(yes, the one I injured myself to dancing!), plus 4 CDs of Mannheim Steamroller Xmas tunes, good ole local flair) to computer...then to iPod...working out didn't sound like any fun today!

Gonna go look at these docs, get dinner started, then Survivor finale!

WOO HOO, WOO HOO, WOO HOO! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :grouphug:

I CANNOT WAIT to meet you all!

Less than 2 weeks (less for some of you lucky souls!)

Bye! :wave2:

Kris

From what I can tell, MIL booked ME for transfers.
SO......we attach the DCL luggage tags before we check our luggage here, right? Ours are green. So this is all we need for DCL to grab our luggage at Orlando and get it to our room?
Kris  :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
