Christmas Cruising 2005

Aisling/Nan--I would rather no pics of kids. Don't really care about us, but it never hurts to be cautious.
Kris, Nan, and Dede, I was going back and forth with the idea of putting my kids' pictures on the signs, so I know what you mean.
So Plan B it is! (Anything extra that I make with anyone's photo on it you can take home as a souvie without using it for the cruise!)

Jill, $1.99 for gas? Holy smoke, where?

The DCL show is on!!!

This is one time I wish I had the travel channel.

The price of gas yesterday ranged from $2.17 to 1.99. The 1.99 was at a WaWa. If you don't know what it is - it's like 7-11 or Quik Chek.

I went to the Dr. to see about getting a pneumonia shot. Also, to show him what my medical carrier diagnosed me with. He wondered when they started practicing medicine. NJPlus says I have COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulminary Disease). Mainly because I had Bronchitis & Pneumonia last year. Also, one of the units in the Prison filled with smoke & & we were stuck in there for a while evacuating inmates & didn't have any equip. on.

Well, the bottom line is, the Doc says let's test for the COPD & since I don't smoke maybe it was contracted thru the Prison & I could get an early retirement.

That would be kind of awesome, but the early retirement would be too good to be true.

Anyway, I have a new skating coach & he is awesome. Maybe this year will be a great year in that area.

SOG, where we are staying for NYE, is having their 2nd annual NYE party. Their theme is a Night Of Stars. There will be paparazzi a phot op & "the Oscar". That's nice but I think I'd rather do Cirque.

Later

Jill, I hope you can get an early retirement, but I don't want you to have COPD! Please let us know what what the tests say. I know a married couple who both have COPD for 15, one is a smoker and one isn't. They both have been taking steroid meds for all that time, and they feel great. Once in a while, the husband gets something like an asthma attack, but he has an inhaler like BronchaidMist that he uses. The husband is a gym teacher of 25 years, and his wife does seamstressing out of her home. :wizard: to you Jill! One thought, if you do have it, and you can get your doc to determine that you got it on the job, you should make sure they compensate you greatly $$$$!!

Good luck with the new coach! Oh, I got your IM with the great skating photo! Thank you, you won't regret it, I promise!

Kris joins us with her glass of wine, la de da, she doesn't care about what is going on....

GEE YOU MAKE ME SOUND LIKE A LUSH! :rotfl2:
Kris
(Yes, I'm a little slow to react these days---A NUTTY SCHEDULE, NOT TOO MUCH WINE!)

++++I did use the quote button...why did it not box it?++++

Jack awoke at 5:20...30 min. later I was still up, so getting up seemed like the better option, as opposed to sleeping a little then having a tough time getting up...this from a night owl!
I have that Travel Channel DCL show saved on Tivo from MARCH! We watch is periodically to get revved up! The kids were watching the one on a RCI ship in Alaska...they were rivoted!
I went to a Creative Memories party last night. Now, remember I owned a scrapbook store, so I need NOTHING. (went since my nice neighbor invited me) BUT they had these adorable 7x7 albums, red w/ a simple Mickey head on the cover (like the punch head) I told the gal I had bought 12 x12 albums to do for the cruise. She suggested buying these smaller ones for the kids to decorate on the plane, then use as autograph books for the characters! LOVE IT! So I bought one, am gonna show the crew at Thanksgiving & see if anyone else wants to order one. I don't want to spend the $ BUT it could be another Xmas present! So I think I am done in that regard!
Nan--I was gonna make the kids paper bag albums for autograph books. SAw a cool one on 2peas or ebay or somewhere...but I just don't see that fitting into my schedule the next 6 weeks!
YES, IT IS SIX WEEKS KIDS!!!!!!!!!
Well, quiet weekend before the next 2 crazy ones. Should be nice.
Jill-COPD sounds nasty. But early retirement sounds WONDERFUL! I know my mom, FIL, MIL & SFIL (Step) have all enjoyed theirs!
Girls, I know your get together is coming up...HAVE FUN!
Well, six weeks soundsl like such a short time! So much to do...better get started! (oh, alright, should get ready for work first... :earboy2:
Talk to ya'll later!
Kris

Hi Gang!

just got home from work, yes-very late night :confused3

gotta go in tomorrow too, we open in a week and have ALOT to do.

Karen, I found out that if we get on the train in Hammonton it'll take us right into Penn station in Manhattan. Guess I should check the schedule so we can coordinate our meet time.

 I kinda hope you don't have COPD Mom, but kinda wish you do so you can enjoy your time better. My FIL was leary about what he'd do with his time but now that he's retired he's quite happy :)

Don't know how long I'll be online tonight but wanted to make sure to say hi.

The cruise is right around the corner-even I'm getting nervous that we'll be ready ... I know we'll be fine but I always get nervous when we get down to the wire.

Hi all!

Kris, I love those Disney albums from Creative memories. The last time we went to Walt Disney World with my nephew (then 5 1/2) I decorated each spread with a different Disney character. I left space on one side for a picture of Quinn with that character, and then we had the character autograph the other side of the spread. It was really neat to see the character's reactions to the book. Some of them were visibly excited to see "their own" page. Minnie Mouse and Piglet were especially excited and kept pointing at their pages.
At one of our character dinners, there was a woman a few tables down that had done the same thing. It was fun for me to make it prior to the trip, and it made a great souvenir for my nephew.

Not much else to say, so I'll go snuggle with grim

bye for now, Christmas Cruisers!

::MinnieMo Dede princess:

Karen and Tig,
Penn Station is right under Madison Square Garden, very convenient location. I'm so glad you're not coming in from Grand Central Station! Can't wait. You'll have to give me your arrival time so I can meet you when you get off. Penn is huge, and has many exits up to the street level, and I don't want you guys to get lost!!

Karen, I have a trivia question for you and Dom: which Star Trek movie has a reference to something Disney?? Hint, it was a line spoken by Kirk at the end. I woo hoo very LOUD whenever I hear the line!

Dede and Kris, I saw some Disney-themed scrapbook stuff in Michael's, and boy was it expensive. If I get into scrapping, I'll have to start buying a little at a time. It looks like tons of fun. I could spend hours in Michael's.

Now I'm going over to the DCL site to see if any stingray excursions have become available. I got ressies right away, then cancelled, and now we want to do it. Wish me luck!

Aisling: You got me wanting to Google Disney star trek, as a matter of fact I'm doing it after I post...You also gotta take that 40% coupon to Michaels, it makes it so much easier not to spend a fortune at that store. Molly & Grandmere (Paul's mom) are headed over there this after noon, maybe I'll send them on my quest for a mini stapler with colored staples (my new scrapbook toy)

I'm in vacation is coming too soon denial. I must get my act together this weekend since the rest after this as BOOKED!!!! Okay back to SCI-Fi watching a killer bee movie, I'm so good at putting things off....

N

p.s. Got 3 of those CM Mickey books....hmmmmm which trip to use them on????

Fairly open weekend. Ran errands. Worked out.
Nan--Target for mini stapler ($1-2), AND they used to have colored staples for $1/pack--much cheaper than Making Memories!
Not much else here.
I'm liking the quiet!
Bye!
Kris

Heyy everyone! How is it going with ya'll!? I am getting so excited for this cruise!!! Whenever we go into the mall or a store i always have to look for things for the cruise..and lucky me they are all on sale b/c of the timing! lol It is raining really badly right now..I am praying that our softball is cancelled for tomorrow...so then i can just chill around the house!! I am really tired right now...I just read the end of my book and am beat. Books always seem to put me to sleep no matter how good they are!...Well I was just checking in on everyone!!

Does anyone know how many teens are coming on this cruise?
Are any of them planning on hitting the stack?
Does any of them have screen names?

Well I am gonna hit the sack! Talk to you all in the morning!

Tori I know what you mean about no matter how good a book is it still makes you sleepy. If not it makes your eyes tired. I just finished a book called "traps" It primarily concerns the FBI. A good cop gone bad & a new partner. But traps is not what you think. If you go to the ATM & someone sticks something in there to catch your money. That is a trap. It was very attention holding. I gave it to someone else & in a few hours he went thru 3 chapters.

Now I'm re-reading Harry Potter & the Goblet Of Fire. I want to refresh myself what it is about. I read some of the reviews of the movie. Should be good. Looking forward to going to see it.

Thanks all for the kindness. I'll tell you what if I could leave this job early I surely would be in Florida ASAP. Too good to be true.

Putting plastic on the windows to cut down on the electric bill.

Be lurking.

I tried to look at the train schedule last night and realized I need to re-install my adobe :confused3

NYC here we come!!!

I have almost all our swap items (from Britt, Stef and me.)

As I had mentioned, these do not have to be identical. Our 75 is made up of six different items ;) That's all the hint you'll get from me today ;)

Nan!!! Where are the boxes? I could use them to start packing what I have...Aisling and Karen, I'll get yours next weekend right?

Okay, boxes to be packed for shipping today ( I promise) we are home so no reason not to make it our job today. I have to get "our" swap finished, that in reality was holding me up. I have "extra" boxes Tigg do you want some for other fun? Let me know how many if you do.

Jill, Chiming in late on this one. I hope you do not have COPD (did I get that right?)Even if that means you get out of work early. Your health is too important. Hopefully you get the diagnosis, get the retirement and then get undiagnosis for good health. (hee, hee, best of both worlds, not sick and retired!) Okay or win the lottery, that might be better :cool1:

Just told Molly about getting swaps done and I have her captive to help, so off to swap.

N

Send me the 25 and your swap when you're ready...right now I only want the 25 please.

Gotta remember to play the lottery tomorrow, one of our lotteries is up to 300 million :cool1:

The good news is....

Got 10 of the swaps done....almost(hee hee hee)(just have to make a label for them)

The bad news is....

I need to go back to Half Moon Bay for the rest of the goodies for my swaps.

I shopped for them before I really had this idea figured out.

So, I think we'll give it a few days (really, just a few) and then if we don't head over there by then, I'll ship the boxes and 10 and the other 15 when we finished them.

Okay out to finish what I have

C ya,

Nan

Heyy everyone! How's it going? It has been an interesting weekend for me. My parents, borther, and I went out shopping for a dress for my mom and some shirts for the suits for my brother and father. We are all trying to match my dress. I found another dress today that was like my 1st one too. I always have found my dresses really cheap (2 dresses for formal night cost me 30 put together!) So my dad didn't mind getting 2 for me. We spent the whole day going through every store in TWO different malls to find a dress! My mom either couldn't find one she likes or one's that she liked but wouldn't fit..to match my color of my dress. So NOW we are switching colors! So I have to find a dress and my mom also does and my brother and dad have to pind shirts and ties!! We have never been so behind on our cruise shopping!!! I love to shop but I have been in the malls all day from open to close Saturday and Sunday! I don't think I wanna look at another store in a year minimum! But I STILL have to find a dress!!!:confused3

Hope evryone had a great weekend!
I have to go get ready for the week...talk to evryone soon!!

Hi Tori,
I know what you mean about dress shopping. I have bought 4 dresses so far, and I keep changing my mind! I have to get a tie for Jesse, and I'm so glad he loves to dress up. Both of my sons do. I love to shop, but I hate malls. I love the boutique stores, and especially the ones that sell second-hand dresses/gowns. You can find some really cool dresses from years ago that are still in good condition, unique styles that they just don't make anymore, and for a steal! I love the movies from the '50s where the ladies dressed so elegantly.

Tig, I mailed out Chad's and Jesse's gifts, so the box is on the way. As for my contribution, I'm working my tush off, but I should be ready by the end of the week, promise!

Nan, I'm on to you babe, you just want an excuse to take another trip to Half Moon Bay!!!

I have one suitcase packed and zipped up! One more big suitcase to go, and our garment bag! Where's the hyperventilating smilie when I need it??
