Christmas Cruising 2005

This is so funny...I edited my previous post, saying "Smashmouth lyrics b o o b o o, with the letters together to make the word, and it didn't get through the filter! I couldn't figure out why, but then I got it. :rotfl2:

I have Wobin's new address, just holler if you want it PM'd to ya...

I agree, Dede needs a comfy one...maybe a trike of her own :moped:

Karen, bring your swap to the train station, we can take it home with us from there.

see Aisling, Mom answered my train question ;) she's a lurker
Didja get pics of the drawings Grim?

Kris, I hope you feel better soon. Can you at least have a hot chocolate?

I am sooo looking forward to our NYC mini meet ... Let's hope this warm weather holds out til then ...

Aisling - You caught my attention. At first I thought you were going to leave our dis board. Then I realized you were quoting someone. WHEW.

That did sound like some really sound devastating on her part. :guilty:

Looking at Beano's pictures I can foresee us having great partys together. Yippee :cool1:

I just got done....I sooooo can't wait for this trip :cool1:

I got your broadway info Ma...duly noted ::yes::

Okay we need to party in that suite...It's sweet!!!!

Aisling: Thanks for the song. Molly loved it too, yes she is still awake at 9:15pm, silly girl can't fall asleep...any advise from you mama's of older kids???

Spent my day scrapping, this morning at a Creative Memories crop, at a house I haven't been too in 2.5 years, I remembered why, other than I got too busy..totally filled with cats. I was wheezing with in minutes. Then tonight at my fav scrap store. Back again tomorrow mom's day out crop w/ lunch, then again Wednesday night for a Xmas gift project for teachers, okay that's enough scrapping for one week huh.

Sad to hear about Wobin. No fun that people are not sensitive enough to not make fun of other people's children. That's just a no-no in my book.

going to read some more beano tonight,

N

Darn - I've had 3 days off in a row - I could get used to this.

Nope, didn't have my camera yesterday. I stopped by this morning, and they're actually using hammers and nails and stuff!!! Didn't take any pictures today because all you can see are the trucks parked in front.

I can't believe that Delswife stuff. I just can't believe the managers of these boards would rather have 2 nobody's as mods than Delswife's stories. Can you imagine how much free publicity she's given them over the years? Talk about ungrateful.

I was just named Employee of the Quarter!!! No extra $, but lunch for a month, a parking space and a day off!! Yeah for me!

hey! hows everyone been!? Man I am SO jealous of my 2 best firends right now! They are leaving for the cruise NEXT WEEK! so yeah they have been rubbing it in my face! haha Does anyone know the link to the Teen thread for this cruise? if anyone knoews please let me know!!

Karen: Who says there is no free lunch???? Congrats on your award, I'm sure you've earned it :cool1:

Going out to vote, yes crazy California with all our issues we have a $300 million speacial election. Oh how I wish money we spent on elections and campaings could just go to the needed sources...schools public works (police/fire) etc...but alas I'm just a little voice in this big old state, so at least I'll cast my voice the one way I can.

Nan

Tori, I could give you the link but me thinks the kids have long forgotten to visit there:confused3

CONGRATULATIONS Karen!!! Well Done! We are all very proud of you :)

I normally vote but with getting home from work at 7:30 and the polls closing at 8, I am spending my time eating with and paying attention to hubby

Hi All!

Congrats Karen! Isn't it great when you get recognized for all your hard work?!?! :cheer2:

Tig, as grim mentioned, I did get my ride. I'm really liking riding on the back, but don't think I will ever drive my own. I am totally content letting grim do the driving. I hate driving...traffic makes me nervous

Jill, love your fireworks! (can't look at them too long though or I think I might have a seizure, lol)

I am so ready for this cruise. I don't know what I'll do when its over! Oh wait, I guess I'll be getting ready to move! One thing at a time, though. I can't believe how close we are getting. Once Tgiving is over, it will be sheer agony to wait for the 23rd!

Well, lots of work to do tonight, and then a walk around the neighborhood. I'm finally getting to enjoy some nice, cool weather!

bye for now :wave2:

I'll be coming back to a very busy store after the cruise...

there are four of us running the place and two of them are leaving for shows shortly after my return. We'll hopefully be busy with rentals and sales. We'll be renting out snowboarding and ski equipment as well as selling it :)

Karen, woo hoo for you! Just think of all the employee-of-the-quarter wannabes looking up to you! We're all proud of you!

Jill, I know what you mean about loving your days off. Tomorrow is my usual day off, because I teach in the afternoon, but I'm probably going to go in anyway for a few hours to help my finances. I want to have a nice chunk of change for WoD in a couple of weeks. Do you have anything special in mind? I was thinking the usual, Rock Center, St. Pat's which is right down the block, WoD of course, Times Square, Broadway, the Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Central Park. We can all fit in my Dodge Caravan, I think, so I can be the chauffeur/tour guide. An important question is what's the lunch budget? I was thinking of the Museum of Natural History restaurant. It's very elegant, but down-to-earth, with fantastic surroundings. And where do you girls get off the train, Grand Central or Penn Station? We can also go by CBGB if Brit wants to, at least get a picture of her writing grafitti on the wall! And we can pass by the MTV TRL studio. It's all glass, so you look up and see right in, and hopefully they'll be interviewing someone famous or see them performing. There is so much to do in one day, but is we focus on what you really really want, we can just drive by the others so you can see. How does that grab you?

Now, an important question: what are you ladies going to do with your hair for formal night? I was planning on making an appointment for maybe an updoo. I have a really nice gown, and I think my straight long hair may ruin the elegance of the gown. But an updoo may be too much. I don't want to confuse the kiddies into thinking I'm a real princess! :rotfl2: Any advice?

I just voted a little while ago. Hopefully, and probably, we'll have our mayor for 4 more years. I wish Guiliani could be our mayor again. I love that man.

Tomorrow is Chad's birthday, 20 years old. I'm glad I was a young mom when I had him, 23 years old, but it's so weird having a college-age son when so many of my friends have elementary-school age kids. My 40 year old sis just had a baby girl last year, and it I really felt the old feelings of loving having a baby to hold and snuggle with.
I'm seriously thinking of getting a :dog: , but it would be from the pound and it would have to be a puppy that's going to stay small. I have to check into it...we never had a dog before, because Mel doesn't like animals in the house, but over time, he's going to have a new best friend! Nothing definite yet.

Now I'm going to see if our pound has a website.

BBL :sunny:

Updoo for me & Molly for sure. I'm hoping to make a salon hair appt as soon as we board. What do you mean "we aren't princesses for real???" I'm planning to play that role for the whole week.

Kinda tired tonight lurking around,

Nan

petfinders.org can show you all the pounds, shelters and foster homes for pets in your area...my bil was kinda leary about getting a dog, but has been in love with Tito (a chihuaua) since the day he showed up in their home :)

Happy Birthday Chad!!!!!!!!!!!

Brittany is sooo up for seeing CBGB's, she says thank you and absolutely!

She's seen the MTV building, she's more interested in seeing CBGBs and doing a Ramone's type pose out front.

I think we come out at Penn station, I need to look at that one more time to be sure.

I'm up for a nice do if you wanna go get our hair done together, I'm interested to see what they can do with my hair

Here's another photo album from my DISer friends just off the Magic. Tarzanman and Ophie are threadkillers just like me :)
