Christmas Cruising 2005

Somehow I knew you skimmed over that one ;)

We leave the morning of the 16th, you can go home when you want, since John and I will be there for the 2 weeks. Adrian and Cate are planning tuesday classes that semester so they can stay with us thru Monday and not miss any.

What are your days off now that you switched shifts?

morning coffee with Mickey checking in...funny I showed Molly the mug a few minutes ago and she said, "Mom, it's just like you" I read it before and thought of Mickey, thanks for the compliment, Tigg.

We'd be there (Nag's Head) in a minute if we had a place to stash the kids, but alas only 10 more years until Wilson's in college and then we'll be free to vaca!!! Of course we won't be able to afford it then huh?

So Dede, I can't wait to hear when you feel the baby. I so remember the first time I felt Molly, like a bird flappy around inside me. Totally forget Wilson, I really should have scrapped & journaled in real time huh? A SBS in the family, how cool is that! Have fun shop for me since I'm having a drink you for :lmao: :rotfl2:

Jill, I printed the picture you took of the four of us on the dolphin swin at the beach and showed it to chicken and it looks like we are using a fake ocean background, what a day, amazing memories, thanks again for sharing it with us.

Must get some breakfast....

TTFN,

N

That's just it...bring the kids!

We have the room! We'll be packed the first week but have plenty of room for the second week. 6 BEDROOMS! It'll be cool cause Brittany will be and Stefanie should be there (Stef's visit depends on her school schedule), you can meet Rose and Ed, you guys would actually be on a vacation of relaxation...you'll still find a way to keep hopping but Rose is the same way. You two and them and my hubby...come on....join us!

My kids have school too, and you know Miss Perfect Attendance Molly wouldn't miss school for vaca....Nice thought, just 10 years too soon for us....

Aw, shame you can't be there Nan.

We know it's the real deal (Ocean)

I still have Sun-Mon Off. They call it Mon - Tues. because the shift starts at 10 pm & as far as they are concerned it is already the next day.

It's always cool to feel the baby move the first time. It's when they try putting their hands & feet thru your bellybutton that it's a trip.

More daylight coming up. Longer time to be outside in the SUNSHINE.

Hi y'all

I'm so into planning my upcoming trip, but it's getting stressful. We never vacationed with so many family members before. It'll be me, Chad, Jesse, Louise, my sis, her son13, her daughter11, my sis-in-law, her mom, her daughter7, and daughter5. We got an Illuminations cruise for the first night, which I'm so happy about. It's hard when it's 3 families with 3 different budgets trying to coordinate. SIL is staying at SOG (she and my bro are active-duty AF), and the rest of us at AKL. My kids want a split-stay, CR tower first and then AKL, but CR-T might be too much for sis and she doesnt want to be separated. So that means no CR-T for us, or tell sis sorry, we'll be doing CR without her and she can stay the whole time at AKL. But she's a WDW newbie and is pressuring me to stick to her like glue. Anyway, I'm starting to dreadthis. I would really have preferredto skip this trip and put that money away for a future Magic cruise, but with SIL going to WDW with my nieces who I hardly ever see, how could I miss this chance to be there with them to share the memories? Ok. enough, I'l spare you the drama!

Tig, you're vacation sounds heavenly, and scary, too! We've never been on a vaca where we weren't running around most of the time. It's a nice tradition you have to spend time with your friend Rose like that. Mel would love a vaca like that. How about I send him without me? :rotfl2:

Hi Jill~! My sis used to be a prison guard a while back in a women's facility in Bedford, NY.

Nan, wanna share a photo of you sippingout of your birthday mug? I'm sure Chicken will oblige you!

Hi Dede!

Ok, now to get productive for a while!

Yeah...it takes alotta patience when there are so many types of people going together...

No matter how much she "needs" you, you, Louise and the boys should take some time away from the family for yourselves. Maybe some parasailing at CR?

Mel can come down ... as if he would do that without you ;)

...he can bunk with my FIL :)

Hump day bump....

Are we still out there????

I made some reservations (without deposits) last night just to see what it would run to cruise....

07/06 13K
12/06 10K
02/07 6K

anyone have a money tree out there???

Hi all!

Yikes, Nan! Dat's lotsa money! We may try another cruise line next time, just for a comparison. We've been watching a lot of cruise line shows the past month. One that we were watching was showing their "luxury suite" and we almost died when they said how much it would cost for a 7 day cruise because it was just a little more than we paid for the Christmas cruise and a lot more space and niceties. Then again, you don't get to see Mickey and Minnie. ;)

Aisling, I think you're very brave to go with so many people. We've gone to WDW twice with my sis and nephew and once to DL with Grim's sis, her hubby and their 3 kids. That was quite enough for a while. We just are too used to going and doing what we want, to go with too many people. Although, my sis usually just does whatever we want to do because those are the only two times they've been.

Hi Tig and Jill! I'm just getting a decent bump for pictures. Another month and I'll be ripe for the taking, and I should be feeling him/her move around by then, too. Oh, and I'll KNOW if its a him or her by then. :goodvibes

Well, lots of homework to do, so I'll talk to you girls later!

bye for now,
::MinnieMo Dede

Nan or Aisling, DVCJen has a question for you over on the pic a day thread...

Hi Dede  It's great to hear you so excited about the baby~

The cost of a Disney Cruise is higher than most, I'd still stick with DCL if I cruise again. #1 I'm too addicted to Disney. #2 I like a clean bed and a well kept ship (I noticed alot of flaws to the outside of the cruise ships we parked next to.) #3 Did I mention how much I Love DIsney  :boat:

~Kids are always different when they are not your own. Your kids grow up with your rules, other people's kids are totally out of our control. Ours on the other hand....totally malleable...know what I mean?~

What am I saying, your a teacher, you knew that already didn't you ;)

LYMI...colleen.

Did I tell you guys the SOG has one the of infamous 75 Mickeys?

I love this picture :teeth:

Wow, what a picture! When was this taken? Have I missed something? Is Brit at WDW?

Anyway, I booked the 2007/2008 western NY cruise, but cancelled 2 days later. I booked us in inside standsard rooms, two this time, but my spoiled kids said they'd rather wait another year so that we can afford a cat. 6. It just sounds outrageous to say we're crusing in 2008. But maybe we can save enough money in the meantime to do a wdw or UO trip after the cruise, make it a nice expensive week long vaca. Nan, sounds just like something you would do! ;)

Tig, did it snow by you today?? It started off sunny, then got cold and cloudy, and then stafrted snowing...hard! Only lasted an hour or so, but it was crazy. I was wearing flip flops!

I now have to get some rest. Been busy getting ready for Jesse's birthday, Chad's induction into the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society for political science, Jesse's induction into Archon the national Service honor society, Jesse's confirmation (he took the name Francis, after St. Francis of Assisi), nd Jesse's graduation into high school. And Louise's college graduation. She's going to be a teacher, and already has a job waiting for her. NYC needs teachers badly!

Hope you're all well!

Lynn, I saw your entry in one of the photo contests! Good for you to enter!

That pic was from the day we left Orlando after our cruise...

Mickey was in the lobby of the shades of green hotel and I almost forgot to get a pic with him. We were literally on our way home when I asked the girls to oblige me and go get a pic with him :)

Wow Lady, you have been busy!

Congratulations to all the kids for *all* their accomplishments!

My Brittany chose Adelaide, patron saint of Princesses or something like that :confused3

My Adrian chose Ignatius cause it was as unique a name as he could find

2008 Might seem a long way off but a nice vacation rather than a forced one would be soooo much more enjoyable, IMHO anyway...

It tried to snow here, alls we got were slight flurries, nothing substantial at all. I wish this weather would break already...the colder it is the less customers we get at work. It seems once ski season is over nobody comes out to play unless it's 65 or higher. :cold:

Looky what I did!

Nan, you or Paul should be able to see what I did to your picture, see if anyone can guess ;)
