I knwo everyone its a ways away still! But I am jsut getting so excited! I got a new dress for formal night that was on sale for 20$ at kohls! It is SO gorgeous! Now all I have to find are some shoes...I just hope the dress fits by the time the cruise comes! lol..

Well, so much to do before I leave for Provo Weds...better go!
Oh yes, you're going to that big scrapping event! Did you get everything done? How far away are you from Provo? Driving, flying?? Do tell!
Imagine, Tig's on a NC beach right now, and Jill's at WDW!! Nan, you still here?? Grim??

Hi Tori, what a great deal with the dress. What does it look like?
About the hats, we were just talking about what kinds of Disney hats we wear. I'm not a hat fan, so I just wear my princess tiara. I also have a Minnie ears headband. I might wear that when we get to the terminal.

I just did some school supply shopping for Jesse, and he's ready for the first day on Sept. 8th. Well, he's not exactly ready, but he has everything he needs, is what I mean. :rotfl2:

I am SO mad... the alignment seems to be screwed up on my printer...yes, I need it to finish these things for Provo...yes, I just sold a perfectly good printer at the garage sale this weekend that uses the same cartridges for next to nothing! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I will see if Dan can correct it (doubt it...he's not terribly mechanical). If not I will have to run and get a new printer!!! I don't have time for this!!!!!!!!!!
Obviously everything isn't ready, but I'm not worried. I have delegated a few errands to Dan, so I really just have to get these projects done, not much else.
I leave 7AM Weds, arriving 10AM, so 4 hours traveling w/ short layover in Denver.
WOW! Sept. 8 for first day of school. When do they get out? I go back the 22nd, the kids start the next Mon., and we are starting a week late this year (and they took away our Oct. break...luckily we will be getting that back next year! I would rather have a week in Oct. and 10 weeks summer vaca than no break and 11 weeks in summer. Great time for break...cheaper cruise rates than our other breaks in Dec., Mar. or summer!)
Well, guess I'll do what I can w/o printer...was going to print photos at home since I have paper and photo ink for THIS printer....ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Bye!
Kris

The dress is a strapless purple pinkish...it's almost like a magenta...and in the waist it's ruffled...and the bottom is like layered differently like you see in some dresses and skirts right now...That sounds like a cool idea to wear your hat at the terminal I think I might just wear my captain mickey hat...I don't know yet though!?

I was just looking at the disney cruise website the other day (not that I don't everyday) and I was looking at the excursions and at the bottom of the page it said that on the beaches this is like a European country and I hope you knwo what that means! My mom was telling me that shes gonna crack up when we see poeple...but I hope she doesn't...even though I might let out a few giggles...hehe... I am sorta scared to see this...I hope people there when we are there aren't seeing this place as a European country!:upsidedow :ssst:

I have Palo penciled-in for Thursday, which is Semi-Formal night (right?). The dress code at Palo is now 'dress-shirt' as opposed to jacket required, so I definately won't take a suit as well as a tux. Prolly just wear a shirt and tie that night.

I also notice the St. Thomas excursion I took last time is no longer offered - the Champaign Catamaran.

Tori, I know what that means. :rotfl: After you giggle a few times, you won't even notice the "europeanness" of the beach. At least that's what I've heard!

I was going to check into doing this excursion...I'm going over to the DCL site to see what's going on. This excursion is supposed to come highly recommended, so what's with not offering it anymore??

Groaning outloud
This has to be the biggest question mark for my family for the cruise. Every thread I see on the cruise boards that has to do with suits/tuxes, I jump into with the same dilemma. Do we take 3 suits and rent 3 tuxes? Do we just take 3 suits to wear both nights? Do my men wear the tuxes both nights so that we don't have to carry any suits? I don't think I can swallow renting 3 tuxes, though. At first I thought SURE, but now it seems like an awful lot of money. I thought since our formal night falls on Christmas night, it would be extra appropriate to wear tuxes. And I thought I would be the problem deciding between gown, dress, or tea-length!

Quick Hellllloooo to you race fans...oops I mean Dis fans. We had a WONDERFUL time at the races. We had a fantatic view from our 11th floor suite room at the Fairmont (better than our top o the line tickets in the grandstands at the start/finish line) with AC, potty and room to walk & a couch to longue on. I have to down load pics on my own since my tech pal Tigg is on vaca.

Kris: What are you making for the scrap thing??? Are you teaching a class or just attending, I'm confused .... :confused3

Aisling: I'm a villian fan but she :maleficen looks way to silly for me.

Tori: Nice to see you again, love the color of the dress...can we see a picture??? & If you saw me on that beach you wouldn't giggle, you'd turn and run away....ha ha ha :rotfl2: I hope there aren't too many of those like that, hard to explain to the kids....

Grim: : Be prepared, once on property at DL forever wanting to be back. I think it just makes the experience run 24/7 (or 24/2, 24/3, or 24/x # of days) Palos....yes Thurs is my night idea too....What time are you and Dede thinking of going? Thurs (long day at sea) is the day I plan my romantic spa package....have you read about the escape/water room???? I figure massage(s) in the afternoon, and a late dinner. Paul will bring just his tux and dress shirts (tie too) oh as I said that I remembered I got DS a searsucker coat and asked Paul if he wanted one to match...maybe he will have another jacket to wear that night.

GPS way to goooooo...I do not have the time and paitence to program her yet, so I just touch screen what I what to do. I found Disneyland under her places list and then on the way home used the address for the place that Paul met me to finish the drive home. The voice command is hard to use, she thinks I keep asking to turn on the radio or the fan, when I clearly stated "map to Disneyland" not sure about her protocal... and yes I think she is like Kit, only a girl, wait was Kit a girl I can't remember, I loved that show...car thing ya know....

Must go inside and see if the kids are alive.

Nan

Oops, forgot to tell Jill (even if she isn't reading for a few days) nice bike....ya look good on it :cool1:

Nan, you sure know how to live it up! Glad you had a god time, and are home safe and sound.
Nan and her talking car! Is the voice computery, or is it more life-like? Not that it would matter to me either way! This should be a standard feature in all new cars. I think it's a fantastic invention. Not to mention as cool as Star Trek!

Glad you had fun - it sounds cool - how far in advance did you have to reserve the room?

We have the late seating, so sometime between 8 and 9 I suppose.

Is the escape/water room the couples mud thing? That sounds fun... :smooth:

Tori, am looking forward to seeing the dress...actually looking forward to seeing everyone's attire! No tuxes here...Dan took suit last time, so think he is OK w/ that again...but the boys will go no further than tropical shirts. But Hailey & I intend to be divas EVERY night! princess:
Nan--Oh, I am in a dorm, so layout to exchange w/ those gals (need to assemble 11) ( I only joined because my 2 roomies are running the dorm!) Plus I am in 5 swaps...card one (done: 10 Bday), recipe (18, half done), the a layout each for Disney, Patriotic, & inspiration, 6 for each. The Patriotic is in the assembly stage, but the other two I am still nailing down the design...
I am VERY please w/ all my designs so far, and once the first one is created the others go pretty quickly. I did run out and get a new printer since ours decided to start yanking paper in crooked THIS MORNING! Figures! But now I can print the pics I need to take for the albums I'll be doing there, and the bit of printing to wrap up these swaps. So along w/ packing the next 24 hours or so will be busy! Plus trying to download the CDs I decided to keep onto the computer to download onto the iPod so that I can take it along! Busy busy! Luckily Dan has been a dear and done some things for me today that I would normally do myself. Bless him! He played poker twice last night plus is golfing tomorrow, so hopefully he won't be too crabby while I am gone.
Well, better get back to business!
Talk to ya'll tomorrow! :wave2:

Tigg might be winning, but she is off line for 2 weeks....we'll get her just seeeee....(insert evil laugh here, ya know the one from Snow White)

Aisling: Topagna talks like a person, a rather stiff person, but still a person. (She has a male side too, I haven't switched her over, I'll do that one day to freak out my family) I'm so into the Star Trek idea....beam me up and away anywhere, I'd go.

Kris: Love the swap idea, but I'd never get them done. I see Swaps on the dis scrapper site, and long to be in them, but can not comitt to really getting work finished on anything in an album to justify making multiples for anyone else. I have a hard time getting the dup pic cds made for my friends and family.

We booked the room on Xmas day (lsat year) got a good rate. GOt our tickets the week they started selling. I have finished my trip report for it, so I should post it here....it is long, so I'll make it one post so you can skip it if not interested. Like you wouldn't read every word, ha :rotfl2:

Work, work work, now must be my life. Too much play and not enough in teh saving account to make me feel ok. I have a new client meeting tomorrow. Acutally an old CEO starting a new business. It's nice to recycle with old clients, you don't have a learning curve on personality that way.

Only 3 week until school for us. Wilson in kinder!!!! Oh my baby is leaving the nest....

okay, gotta go..next post will be Race weekend report.

Gentlemen Start Your Engines….

The weekend was great. Our room/suite was outta this world. We called 2 weeks ago to see if we had a view and were told no, they are all gone by now, so expected nothing. Got a late start on Friday, left home at 2pm (instead of 7am as planned) arrive at The Fairmont and had our bags sent up without us. Toured around the race, mostly in the Convention Center to see the swag and car booths, bought some stuff, pins and little Herbie for Wilson, t-shirts, hat, walked the table of the San Jose Grand Prix girls and had all 22 of them sign pictures for both the kids then dragged the kids to our seats. Wilson was screaming and shaking the noise was just way to loud and scary for him. Paul carried him all the way and we watched for a while. Wandered over to the paddock area, met local owner/driver Jimmy Vasser from Morgan Hill and got signatures and pictures. Made it back over to our room at 9pm to find it was the 2nd best house view there was. Found out at check out that in the next suite down the hall was the owner of PKV Racing http://pkv.cmagic.com. We quickly agreed that our suite window view was better than our Gold (top of the line) grandstand tickets, and the suite had AC, bathroom, and a well stocked fridge. Friday night ended with room service dinner and cartoons for the kids, pure heaven. Saturday morning we had Mike & Paula (neighbors) up for room service breakfast while the kids went home with Grandpa Skjerven for an overnight. We enjoyed a bit of the view from the suite, Mike, Paul and Paula made the trek to the seats I waited for Jeremy (Nan’s nephew) & Walter (Jeremy’s friend) to join me with the restocking of water (& beer) then we made it over to the stands. Watched the qualifying from our grandstands and then headed back for later afternoon viewing from the room again. Paul and I took a dip in the pool then had a nice dinner out at McCormick & Schmidt’s, ended the day around 11pm. Sunday brought Tasha and David (playgroup friends) and room service breakfast (The Fairmont has great breakfast) T&D moved out to see the space/race and Paul and I lounged until the last moment in bliss. We decided to try to walk the “other way” to get to our seats and ended up deciding it was easier to completely avoid the track and go far around the outside to the Woz Way entrance which was much closer to our section in the grandstands. The crowds inside were bad, but since we knew how to avoid them we were happy. Got to our seats 30 minute to spare, I checked out Jeremy’s view, (he got Section 1 row 15, we got Section 2 row 11, he was closer to the actual start finish and just high enough to see both pit and racing lane, from our seats we saw great pit but not high enough to see the cars coming down the racing lane…next year row 15 or above) I joined Paul, Tasha and David at 30 minutes remaining as to not lose them after the ending. So close, so loud, so fun. Brought back a large piece of swag (a.k.a. “The Map”). We decided to stay one more night to have the kids come back and join us, Mike & Paula rounded them up and we all enjoyed Sonoma Chicken Coup for dinner, no crowds, the show was over. Walking back to our room Wilson took a header into a sign at St. Josephs Cathedral, huge goose egg ensued. Into the Fairmont bar for an ice bag and up to our room for recovery. Dial-a-nurse advised waking him up at 3am (thank heavens for a wake up call) to check for signs of head injury. We did he was fine. Next morning just brought coffee from room service, and cereal boxes for the kids. We packed up and headed out, drove the track best we could. It was cool….

We are coming back next year. We are getting the suite again. We are having a party for all to join us. Keep your motors running…. :moped:

I didn't join this thread right away, and yet I am third! Then again, maybe that isn't something to be proud of!
I am wrapping up things for Provo (Nan--I shouldn't commit either, the last minute procrastinator that I am..but I will get such a nice variety back for my efforts!)...printing pics on new printer...loaded all my CDs to computer, and am going to hook up to iPod as soon as done here.
Take out pizza for dinner...no time to cook (good local joint has $5 pepperoni or cheese--large--every Mon/Tues 4-8PM. Cripes, can't make homemade or even buy decent frozen for that! Though Marcus LOVES the $1 Totinos!)
School starts 22nd for us, 29th for kids...I am torn. Kinda ready, but not really ready for summer to be over. But I do love fall--ready for Husker football season!
Well, I may get one more post in tonight, and the doubt it until Sunday or Monday!
Bye! :wave2:
Kristin

Kristin, have a wonderful time in Provo.
And don't worry, we still have a nice chunk of summer left to relax before school. I must admit, I've had enough of the hot weather. I can't wait for the cool fall days, the changing colors of the leaves, the lower electric bill since the AC will be off. Well, we usually have it on into October, due to DHs severe hayfever.

Tomorrow I was supposed to have the day off, but I was called in. It's not mandatory, so I think I'll call my supervisor and decline. I have so much housework to catch up on. But knowing myself, I'll probably end up going in anyway.

My 2 sons have been keeping each other company during the day, which says a lot for a 13 year old and an almost 20 year old. I'm blessed that they get along so well. They're very close, and this helps me be able to go and do what I have to do without worrying about them...they have each other and enjoy it. :goodvibes

Again, Kris, have a swell time!

bumping....a bit busy with work today, I'll chat later this afternoon.

Travel safe Kris :cool1:
