Kind of lurking these days!
Nan--jealous of your scrapbook store trip! Having closed a store 2 years ago, I still have a lot of supplies (sold most), but I do have to get my fix of new items once in a while, though I try to limit. Am scrapping all day the 7th for National Scrapbook Day. Considering attending Creating Keepsakes University for the 4th time this August in Provo, but having difficulty justifying the cost. Determined to have a garage sale to pay for it...but I could save that $ for the cruise...tough choices!
Have a great day, all!
Kristin

 Hi All!

:wizard: Another week almost done, seven and a half months to go...:boat:

Aisling: My Brittany is a true shopaholic  She was funny the day we found the dress...she absolutely loved it and took a look at the price tag. She was like look MOM! This dress is too much, I said no worries ;) and pointed at the 33% off sign above it :) She was very happy that day.

She has to drive with her permit and an adult for six months before she can be freeeeee. :goodvibes and then they limit her to one passenger (that's not family) and home by midnight til she's had her license for six months.

I think I'll make out in the deal...I told her, now follow this, her bro will give her his car, dad will give bro his car, I'll give dad my car, and Mom gets a new one! :rotfl: :cheer2: (New to me anyway) I'd rather have a reliable older car than a new "recall waiting to happen" car.

Kristin: :( That's so sad that you had to close up shop. If you're really that interested in the course, I say go for it. If it can wait til after the cruise it'll still be money well spent. You gotta do what you feel is right.

btw: According to PPC bylaws, you are to indulge yourself whenever possible.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! May 7th, you say? Do I get the day off too?!?!

Hey Kristen, I'm planning on spending NSD (4/30) at a creative memories event. My sister and I are working on this great idea, we're making a giant (6" x 12") swiss army knife scrapbook for my newphew who is earning his Eagle Scout. I'll post it once it's done cuz it is lighting up my world. So fun to make something for a little (not so little one, almost 18) guy. I'm so happy that I have learned to scrapbook early in my kids lives, I have such good pictures of the events & people that are important to them. They will have a good supplies of photos to see that they really did have a happy childhood :goodvibes

Tigg: So funny to hear the car info from you. We just went thru that with the newphew above (seems like yesterday) Can't believe how fast these kids grow up. Mine of course will stay young forever so that we can always Dis with them :earsgirl: :earsboy:

suposed to rain today :umbrella: April showers bring May flowers (only if you plant them) I must get my tomatoes in the ground. Maybe that is DH project while I'm at NSD.

Must finish work today, a little easier to do since I booked DL in June, I have to pay for it don't I :rolleyes1

:wave2: Nan

Hey Tigg
You forgot to mention how much of a hand-me-down car bro's car is.
Mom :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :moped: :moped:

::yes:: The car was TBJ's before it belonged to my DS...

~She gave it to him for his 16th birthday~

We just a had a really quick storm...

and the :sunny: is shining again... :confused3

I think the storms are natures way of clearing all the flowers off the blooming trees to make room for the new leaves...it's kinda cool, out there in the wind, flower petals flying around me like it's snowing :goodvibes

That was a crazy storm. I live 5 minutes from Tigg & all it did here was get dark & windy. I think pixie dust was in the wind :wizard: cause if it had they weren't going to deliever my new shed. whew :sunny:

Have a gorgeous day all.

Franco - where are you?

Jill :umbrella: :moped:

It's Friday...payday... :cool1:
Sure, take NSD off--it's a Saturday! :goodvibes
Just got an email that the place I signed up to scrap is full! Glad I got in. They have added Friday night--cool. It is a place about 30 min. from here that 3000 sq. ft. just for scrappping! The are open most Fri/Sat., and there is a small store a few doors down. (it is in an outlet mall on the interstate between Lincoln and Omaha). Opened by some friends of mine last year. One gal has moved on to other opportunities. The gal remaining, Teresa, is ironically the secretary for our teachers' organization! Glad it is going well for her.
Don't be too impressed by my desire to go to Creating Keepsakes University--basically it is a weekend of scrapbooking classes. I have gone 3 times, and Provo is like Mecca to scrapbookers. More stores than you can believe, and all the hottest supplies and techniques. SO it is a fun thing for me. But the only things in life I regret is trips I passed on...so....I'll probably go!
Well, gotta work...students return in 5....
Have a great day, all!

Kristin
Why, thank you!

I will ... :rotfl2:

I have a baby shower to go to that day. This friend's having two showers-one on the 7th and one on the 15th-both sides wanted their own shower...

:grouphug: My family has had to remind me to do things for myself ... being a mom for so long and taking care of others, I forget to take care of me. :confused3

but I'm learning ... :teeth:

I've snuck in two trips to Disney, by myself, in the last year. I was invited and it's what I really wanted to do, so my family sent me on my way with their blessings (and souvenir lists.)

I may go again in October with my DD, my best friend and her DD, that trip is still up in the air ...

Nan's talking of Disneyland...
has me daydreaming about a trip there as well. My best friend (Rose) wants to drive the California coast and hit DL while she's there. Rose keeps asking me to do this trip with her and Stef. You'll get to meet Stef, she's coming on the cruise with my Mom (TBJ), my DD and me.

:wave2: Happy Friday!! :boat:

Good Morning the :sunny: is shinning and I'm late to go scrapping...I'm :hourglass waiting for my printer to finish the pictures of DS T-ball season...should have printed last night, 'eh?

Well hope you all have a wonderful day here's a little :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: dust your way.

:wave2: Nan

Crazy weekend here!
Jealous of ya Nan--scrapping will NOT be happening this weekend! But I should get a good fix next weekend!
Fri. did not start weekend well--DH and I had an argument, and we so rarely do. And would you believe that he would NOT admit that I was right??!! :Pinkbounc We agreed to disagree...
Sat AM spent in long meeting, had Mom's Day lunch w/ Mom at new restaurant we had been wanting to try--great atmosphere & service, OK food.
Ran errands all afternoon thinking we were having neighbors over to play cards...get home to message from BIL from Pitt that they are in town, meet for dinner!! HUH??!! Apparently DH knew this and forgot to tell... :rolleyes1
Nice dinner, seeing family, going to spend today together also--of course I have math due tomorrow, and didn't know of all this....DH is not my fav person right now!!! Love the guy, and normally a very likable agreeable fella, but he's managed a nice annoying package this weekend!
SOOOOOO better get to that math...
How many days to this cruise??!! TOO MANY!!!! :earseek:
Kristin :wave2:

Hey there, one more week closer to the cruise :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Scrapping was fun, but only worked on my sister project, nothing done on mine...must try to get to it again this week.

I think I have some better ideas to make an autogragh book for our trip. I want to make something, but I'm nervous to bring something handmade all over tarnation to WDW and the cruise, seems so easy that we might lose it. My latest thought is to bring pages (rather than an entire book).

I made ressie this morning for Very Mickey Xmas at the world for 12/20. I can't believe tics are avail so soon. I found out about then on MFL site last night and practically freaked out thinking I might not be able to get in. This D obsession can some times even drive me crazy.

Sis called me this noon time to tell me that she may have to bail on DL in june, arrggghhhh. She is a VBS teacher, oops guess that means me & my kids are heathens this year we're going to DL instead of VBS. I'm married to the perfect man, DH told me he'd go if sis wouldn't. Perhaps I'll do the grown up thing and take the kids myself. Watch out next week I'll be back to normal and have a good story like Kris to tell about how I love to hate my DH too. :rotfl2:

I did come up with an idea for us to split up so that DD & I can join you at boarding *early*. DH & DS can follow us with luggage, but DD & I can cab it over in the morning. I also may have a fun idea for a DIS group gift. Can't tell, but I'm doing the happy dance with myself for being so crafty.

it's late should call it a night...

:wave2: bye, Nan

I did come up with an idea for us to split up so that DD & I can join you at boarding *early*.
Nan, I hope you can work this out! Imagine, at the terminal when we all meet, it's going to be a group of us hootin and hollerin, hugging and getting giddy, like meeting up with old friends. :grouphug: :disrocks:

I so look forward to this, and to the cruise in general. I've been stressed out lately, new job, friend's health problems, "w"itchy woman poking her nose into my business, DS growing into a teen and at that awkward age, DH not fixing the towel rack in the bathroom, mom visiting, did I say new job? Do I need a vacay or what! :faint: I keep saying thank goodness for the Dis, because reading these boards is so uplifting, but it's been hard to find time. At night, I'm so tired or busy that I briefly skim through the posts and then feel bad that I have other things to do! And my diet! HA! 'nuf said. :guilty:

Ok, I've poor me-ed enough!

I sneaked and counted the money in our jar and there's just under $400 in there! This is just from pocket change and singles. By the time we cruise, I'm hoping to double that. I told my family that they have to go through a pat-down when they come home everyday, and hand over their change/singles.

Oh guess what, I just this moment decided to take tomorrow off! I have this really bad stomach-ache. ;) :rotfl2:

I was wondering, are any of you bringing a pillowcase for the characters to sign? It seems to be a very popular thing to do, and even though I don't have small children anymore (wahhhh, my kids are growing up too fast!!!), I was thinking of bringing one anyway. Or maybe a white Tee shirt. Do you think it would be difficult to marker-sign a tee? The material isn't smooth like a pillow case, and I'm thinking the marker would sort-of snag along the Tee, kwim? I think you scrappers would know!

Now I have to get into the kitchen. But I'll be back later...I can stay up late tonight, no work tomorrow! :earboy2:

Wow! Almost 48 hours w/ no posts from anyone!--Sacre bleu!
Spent 13 hours working our primary election yesterday. It is always fun. Plus I feel I've covered my civic duty and volunteering--plus the school district pays for a sub for me! With a full time job, 3 kids and working on my Masters, there is just NO time for volunteering! But hey, I'm affecting the minds of children everyday...I think for the better!
Well, lunch half hour here..better go put a couple calories in this bod. Lack of time to exercise has stalled weight loss, but at least not weight gain! Intend to get back on exercise track this weekend....
Have a WONDERFUL day! :wizard:
Kristin
PS Aisling--how's that day off? :p

 Hello again Christmas Cruisers!!!

Nan:I can't believe you got MVMCP tix already!! That's so cool! Sorry to hear your sis backed out on you...what is VBS?...your DH sounds like a great guy, volunteering to go to DL, such a sacrifice  ;)

We'll be looking for you and your DD the day of boarding-I'm thinking that would be an expensive cab ride tho...I think the port is an hour ride from WDW. :confused3

You made gifts!?!?!?! What'dja make? A little hint please???

Aisling: Life is really getting to you eh? What new job did you get? I hope things get better for you...maybe a trip to Coney Island is what you need...a little R&R is good for the soul. I was home sick yesterday too! I also had an upset stomach...but I think mine is allergy related...post nasal drip kinda thing, and my head is a little woozy from my sinuses being so congested.

$400 already!!! You go girl!! Keep patting em down for that change :rotfl:

For autographs, I like the pillow case or tshirt idea-I've read about people embroidering over the autographs to add color and texture to them. I, personally, like to get hats signed...I wear sun visors alot now and get sigs on the "bill" of the hat.

Kristin: Your DH off the s**t list yet?

 Have a Great Day people!!!~TTFN~

Good News sis is back on for the DL trip, turns out she is sharing the teaching and another gal is taking the later days in the week days.Vacation Bible School.

Tigg thanks for the info I didn't think the ride was that far. I'll have to check out what is the best way to get there, early for me and DD. Any suggestions?

I like the pillowcase idea too, I think that is what we'll do. What kind of markers do you use for them?

I'm not telling the suprise craft, just that I will have them perfected as I'm making them for school for the kids for Teacher Appriecation Week, only 450 kids should be a piece of cake, ha. :cheer2: Just hope they will travel well that's the hard part.

Well, pretty tired tonight, we got a new pet today. A Lop Eared Rabbit. She is so cute. Of course if never rains in California, unless you are getting a rabbit that day, right? Wish us luck introducing her to our 2 dogs tomorrow.

Anyone have any good Mother's Day plans in the works? We are headed up to San Francisco for Norway Day, the kids are dancing again, then I guess dinner up there somewhere.

Grim & Franco are you out there????

Hope you are all well, see ya later,

:wave2: bye,

Nan

Can ya tell I'm please??!!
My review of the Star Princess FINALLY is on cruisecritic.com. It took months!
Nan--I decided NOT to scrapbook Saturday. Well, a social engagement came up...and since I am blessed w/ a scrapbook room, sometimes loading up is more work than it is worth! I still intend to scrapbook, just at home.
Tigger--DH is back on the top list again! Luckily it is where he usually spends his time! I really do like the guy! :lovestruc
Well, just touching base!
Have a great day!
Kristin

 Hi All!!!

Nan: I'm so glad your sis is able to go to DL with you.
mms.gif
I would find a way to go with you, if she were me ;)

Some of the transportation offered to the port would be thru Mears shuttle or a limo service, I'd assume $40-$80 cost...Anyone here have a suggestion? We'll already be in the port canaveral area so I'm probably not much help there.
headshake.gif

We use "sharpie" markers for autographs. They dry fast and don't run...

That's so sweet of you to bring something for your fellow cruisers, is it something you'll have us make or something you'll have already made?
biglaugh.gif
...Yes, I am the curious, perpetual, question asker...
biglaugh.gif

I plan on relaxing on Mother's Day...it's supposed to be 77 and sunny here on Sunday, you'll find me in a lounge chair in the backyard.

Kristin: I read your review, very well written

TBJ took my sister and niece on the Disney Western last august that goes to Mexico.

Only 20 more days left of school!?!?! I wanna be a teacher, I miss having summers off.

I'm glad your DH made it off the naughty list...

Only 7 more months and we'll be Christmas Cruisin!

Well, I took the day off to insure, register & inspect the Trike. Riding down the road was cooool. A lot of people waved & honked their horns. You'd think they never saw a Trike before (you know maybe some havn't).

Anyway, I went to my TA & asked her about the passport (old issue - I know) But, she had a sensible answer. Suppose something happened & we got stuck out on the Ocean until after the 31st. They would probably eventually let us ashore but could give us a hard time without the passport.

And, let me tell you from experience it is not such a farfetched thought. We were on the cruise last year that went from 7 to 10 days because of the hurricane.

Basically, she suggested it was better to be safe than sorry.

On that note - have a gorgeous weekend.

Jill :cool1: :moped:

And HAPPY MOTHERS DAY :lovestruc

Easy for you to say...;)

Take heed-It costs $97 per person for "just in case."

Brittany is most likely going to England next year with Girl Scouts! Yay!...but that means it is feasible for me to purchase her passport. I will be waiting to decide whether or not I need one but ... If I tag along with DD next year and go to England with my friend Rose. I will also need my passport.

If anyone decides against spending the cash for a passport, they should rely on being grandfathered back into the US using their driver's licenses and birth certificates.

~Expect the Worst and Hope for the Best~

Thank you for allowing me to think all this out loud...we all must decide for ourselves what to do. At the least, we've been warned :confused3
