hi everyone just catching up. ive been very busy. just finished my first counsellers course and have until sep before the next one. im also moving house yay me! :cool1: got a lovely 2 bed semi with a conservatory. so just letting you know im still here but very very busy ! :Pinkbounc

Quick check in--trying to finish posting report cards so they can be run to send home next week!
SOOOOO glad it is the weekend--only 8 weeks of school left!! WOO HOO!
How long until we leave....8 1/2 months? TOO LONG!
Just got a set of Mickey vests from another DISer--bless her, she sent them for the cost of shipping! DS, 4, loves his, DS, 9, not so sure(Mom, this isn't cool...)--and it barely fits him. DD,6, was willing to use it (a bit large for that tiny one!) It could be comical!
I don't want to rush time--just move this cruise up about 6 months!
Have a great day!
Kristin

I'm working out regularly (Jazzercise for 60 min. 3+ times/wk.), watching portions, choosing healthy---and GAIN 2 lbs.??!! WHAT is that all about??! (no, NOT that time of the month!).
Heck, when I eat normal and don't exercise so diligently at least I maintain!
This stinks! Slimfast to get into "skinny" jeans in 2 weeks for Kenny Chesney! (my skinny jeans probably aren't very skinny by most, but gotta work with what ya got!)
POOEY!!!!!
:confused3

KKB:You never know, your 6 yo may grow so much he fits the vest next Christmas :) or you could have it fitted for him ;) Only 8 weeks left of school! :earseek: then my baby girl will officially be a senior soon! :guilty: I'm not ready for this... :wizard: Don't give up! Keep up with the exercise! You'll see its benefit if you can keep yourself going- :grouphug:

Aisling:How did it go for you this morning?

ColKath: Welcome back! Glad to see things are well :)
Congratualtions on your new home! One question tho, is a conservatory like a green house? Congratulations on getting thru your first councelling course too! :cheer2:

:wave2: We're having dreary weather today but it's not so bad...walking to work, I saw the grass is getting greener, the flowers are loving the rain and the birds are out and singing away...and I saw my first bunny of the season! :umbrella:

Kristin, how often do you weigh yourself? I have a good scale, but if I get on and it says 125 (for example!) :rotfl: , and then step on a minute later, it'll say 127 :rotfl2: . What I mean is that you probably didn't really gain any weight. It'll be close for the concert, but you have TONS of time before the cruise!!! Stick with it, stick with SOMETHING, ANYTHING, JUST DO IT! You CAN do it!

colkath, it's nice to see you! :flower: Tiggie beat me to it, but I'd also like to know what a conservatory is.

Tiggie, it didn't go well this morning. I had CNN on all night, with the volume on low, and when I woke up early to watch the actual funeral, I was all anxious! I think what must have happened is that, even though I was asleep, I was hearing all about the funeral, and death, and it made me restless as I slept, and nervous for no reason when I woke up.
I'm now looking forward to watching Prince Charles getting married tomorrow. The actual wedding won't be televised, bit I'm sure the newhounds will be right there getting as close as they can to the action!
I remember getting up early years ago to watch Charles marry Diana and thinking her wedding gown train/veil was way too long LOL, and also watching the VERY sad funeral of Princess Grace. OMG Princess Caroline and Prince Ranier looked so grief-stricken, they could hardly walk.

To our UK cruisers, how big is the hoopla over Charles and Camilla's wedding???

tigger and aisling--thanks for the boost.
I know it is about the long haul. Weight loss has always been difficult for me. It seems that illness or divorce has been the only way to lose signifigant weight for me. (I have told DH to "leave" me for a few months so I would finally drop all this "baby" weight--he's insulted!) DH loves me no matter my size, thank goodness. It is very difficult when we eat quite healthy, and I do like to work out. It really is a matter of REALLY watching what I eat--tight portion control, and religious exercise schedule. A bit tough for a rebel like me!
I try to only weigh once a week (but sometimes more...), and have a pretty reliable scale.
I read an article that people who are disciplined, planners, and good about sticking w/ very structured plans tend to lose weight and keep it off. I do OK, but the rebel in me struggles w/ the structure. I think if I sit down this weekend and plan the meals for the week again, I will do better (had to fly by the seat of my pants this week... :rotfl: )
Hey, McDonald's w/ kids tonight--had grilled chicken salad w/ low fat dressing, vanilla cone, so I made good choices, was satisfied and full.
My skinny jeans feel better than anything I can put in my mouth.... :teeth:
Thanks again for the support, and hopefully you will meet the original Kristin--the size 8-10 before kid one! If not, the slightly larger version will still enjoy meeting you and still have a blast!
(MIL is size 6-8 after WW last year, and gave me her cast-offs. I will be the biggest wife on the trip if I don't get busy!)
Better go for a walk!~ :cheer2:
Kristin

:badpc: scales :badpc:

Scales are depressing. I threw mine in the garbage years ago because it didn't tell me or show me what I wanted to hear. :guilty:

I hope everyone likes me the way I am. I will probably never lose the weight I want cause I refuse to give up the food I love. Oh well :confused3 .

Exercise equipment - isn't that what you store things on?

Thank goodness I roller skate a few days a week. :mickeybar

A giggle burns calories!
I have never let my size keep me from a happy marriage nor a happy, fun-filled life! Gotta do it for me and my future health now. Luckily 25 lbs. will get me to a healthy BMI, so that is my focus. I will look better, too (it's amazing how great losing 10 lbs. made me feel!~)
No matter what size I am I will have a FANTASTIC time on this cruise!
Kristin
PS I don't believe in exercise equipment at home except weights. DH does treadmill which I hate, but it keeps him going. I need the challenge, dancing, and social of Jazzercise.

Hi Gang,

I had a busy weekend, mostly doing "spring cleaning". After I started, I thought what the heck did I get myself into! But I did get a lot done, especially in Jesse's room. He'll be turning 13 in 2 weeks, so I thought I'd update his room. Got rid of the toybox and replaced it with a black trunk/foot locker for his toys. Got rid of his white bookcase and replaced it with a cool chrome wire rack thingy. I had an extra mattress, so I put it on his bed, and now he sleeps like King Farouk. He doesn't have a headboard, so I want to get some heavy chain, maybe 10 pieces to hang on the wall from the ceiling to the level of his bed as a headboard. I cleaned out his closet, and made good money selling his too-small/"un-cool" clothes at a flea market. It's so cute, because, even though he's growing up, he still made sure I didn't get rid of his matchbox cars (he must have 100), and his Gundum (sp) toys. Once in a while, I'll see him rolling a car or two on his bed, and I love it. He's still my baby!!

I had some extra money this weekend, so I put $90 in an envelope for the unlimited internet onboard. Well, that's one thing paid off!

My next envelopes will be the Disney Transfer and the rental car. Chad said he'll pay for the 1 night at the Hyatt ($177), so I have to give him an envelope and put it in our savings jug where there's no taking out until the cruise. I'm very big on the envelope method, because I get satisfaction actually seeing that whatever specific thing is paid off, instead of just saving a big load of money to disperse later when the time comes. So I end up with lots of envelopes!

Anyway, I'm going to get some rest and dream about the cruise. Nitey nite!

I am a cleaner-outer--I always say if my environment is cluttered, so is my brain. Well, my brain is a mess, and I do not have time to do a good cleaning out!
I generally do a full house clean out each summer (we teachers leave EVERYTHING for summer). But I have class 4 weeks this summer, plus I teach a week, so only 6 weeks of vaca (I know, poor me). Actually I have allotted my 2 weeks in July to clean out and do a garage sale. Accountant says I would do better donating items and claiming on taxes (I do plenty of that, too, but he says could do more). But I get pleasure w/ the cash! (Trip $--Mr. accountant can't get me cash that quick) Our 3 weeks in August we are going to do a family vaca--maybe a week at Lake of the Ozarks in MO.
Friends got back from Cancun--kinda glad we didn't fork out 3 grand for virtually 3 days, one rainy. Said food was bad, girls had the runs, beverages tasted different. Overall, not great. DH and I said that's why we should all do a cruise together--we did a week (ALL expenses) for what they paid! To us a cruise is like tropical Vegas! (We have all been to Vegas twice together, one couple wanted tropical since wife doesn't gamble. Even she said Vegas is better! She was seasick on their cruise, but I wonder if she had a patch or meds).
Well, gotta go work. :sad2:
Have a great day!
Kristin

 Happy Monday Everybody!

Aisling: Jesse's Room sounds very cool!
...my hubby still has all his matchbox cars too!

I'll be a happy cruiser no matter what size I am in December
...I threw away my scale when it became an obsession. It's just not healthy to pay attention to every little pound, on or off!

Need to put a stop to that quick!
Kind of a rainy nothing Tuesday here.
Did have some excitement yesterday afternoon with an unexpected tornado warning during school--had to spend the last hour in the girls bathroom! No touchdowns, but the first time I have had a real warning during school hours as the teacher! Otherwise, just finally some much-needed rain.
Just touching base!
Have a great day!
Kristin :cheer2:

hi all a conservatory is like a sun room (attached to the house just a roomof windows)not sure what you call it.i find it really amusing when theres words we say that are so different to yours. last year when we were in america my kids were playing up and i told them to "pack it in" which an american lady nearby thought was really funny and said she would use it on her kids. it was also funny when we landed in the uk and my children were still asking where the restrooms were and no-one knew what they meant!im afraid my dieting has gonme out the window a bit whilst im moving but ill be back on track soon.

LOL!
Dare I ask, what meaning do you have for "pack it in?"

I rather enjoy hearing others speak-even north americans have their own way of saying things, depending what region the of the country they are from ;)

I hope your move is going well...
It's been so long since I've eaten junk food or fast food that I've had such a yearning for it...resisting this is probably the hardest part of my day, and night. I find myself staring into the fridge late at night and each night convincing myself that I really don't need it

With resisting temptation, I've done well. With the exercise, I have not :( Someday I'll get started on that...right after I finish eating my :mickeybar

:earboy2: :duck:

Hi I want to chat here and i want to meet all the Dis kids on the cruise. I like to play video games, I like to rollerblade, and I like my drama class in school. its fun. I have to pick a dialogue to do with another kid and i might do monthy python because they're so funny. I dont know what else to say for now so c ya! :cool1:

It's funny how the kids post a couple of times and then fizzle out!

I was going over my packing list...all our clothes etc, and as time gets closer, I have been adjusting the list to less and less. I don't think we'll need so many clothes, especially dressy clothes. It feels good that we're going to be travelling a bit lighter. I was really going crazy with 2 or even 3 outfits a day for myself! (You can see I don't get out much :rotfl: ). I'm going to throw a few pairs of shorts and tees in the suitcase, my formal dress, my semi dress, my pirate outfit, and 1 count-em 1 pair of capris for the regular dinner nights.
I'm just concerned about my hair and the formal photos. If I don't have my hair blown out straight, it's very wavy, but not nice-wavy. I just want to look ok in the family formal photo. The rest of the time, I'll be a wash-and-air-dry-hair girl, with the wild wavy hair, and just enjoy being carefree. For the photo, it'll probably cost a lot to have my hair blown out on board, but I guess I'll just have to get another envelope ready!
