Christmas Crackers

I'm sure I read on here previously that you can't get Christmas Crackers in Orlando, is that correct?

don't think so, I think that they are something typically British but someone else may know better.

I'm sure you can't take them with you unless you remove the snap (bang!)

Crackers are not easy to find in Orlando but I have seen them in a couple of places, department stores (Macys I think ) but not at Walmart or Publix. You can take a box with you but they have to go in hold luggage.

They had them in both Walmart and Publix last few christmases. Publix have a 'British Food' section - baked beans etc and I found some there so obviously aimed at the Brits.
There wasn't a huge choice of styles though but we have always managed to get some reasonable ones.

You can't take them with you in either hand or checked luggage because of the snap in them.

Might be worth checking with your airline as BA allows you to take up to 2 boxes as long as they are a well known make and still sealed .

We bought some in Walmart in Dec 2003 - it was at the big walmart at Sand Lake Road/John Young Parkway, they had lots.

I (Mr. Fozzie) am American by birth and I can pretty much assure you that Americans don't really know what crackers are (apart from Saltine crackers which are a type of biscuit similar to Carrs water biscuits but FAR superior).

If you are able to find them anywhere in the states you'll find them in a shop that has a "foreign foods" type section. Apart from the lack of availablitly, Americans think the idea of sitting around a table wearing paper crowns rather silly. I've been here for 17 years now and I still can barely suppress a snicker!

(This reply has been sent without Mrs Fozzie's approval who is British and LOVES Christmas crackers. In fact, she has now sworn to make me wear a paper crown this Christmas whether I like it or not!)
