This will be our first time visiting Disneyland during Christmas.

We have visited WDW in the past and know that you need to be in the Magic Kingdom early on Christmas day because it reaches capacity quickly. Does the same thing happen at Disneyland on Christmas Day? Are there levels of closures? We are staying on property (DLH) and will have Premier Passports.

We have breakfast reservations for Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park and the Holiday Time Tour at 12:30. We were hoping to head over to DCA after the tour was finished so we could get our turkey dinner at Flo's V8 Cafe. I'm wondering if we will have a problem leaving DL and getting into DCA around 5 pm????

Yes, there are closures. There are various levels. Having APs and staying onsite both work in your favor.

When the first level is met they stop selling tickets.
Next, they stop admitting first-time entry, unless you are staying on-property. (At this level there will be signage as leaving the Park reminding you to get a hand stamp).
Lastly, complete closure. NO ONE gets in. If you are in, you're fine. If you leave, you may not get back in.

Note that in the scenario you gave above, if you successfully get into DCA for your turkey dinner, but not be able to get back into DL after. DCA has never closed for capacity on Christmas (DL has), but this year may very well be different with the excitement and success of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street.

Just wondering...is this only for Christmas Day, or are other days likely to have closures as well? I won AP tickets for the Candlelight Processional on 12/15 (a Saturday)...we aren't allowed to arrive until noon, according to the email. I'm wondering if we run the risk of not even getting into the park due to closure.

You shouldn't have a problem. The days that are likely to have closures during the day will be every day between Dec 25th and Jan 2nd. In 2001, they had turnstile closures EVERY DAY from Dec 24th to Jan 2nd. Other years, there have been at least 2 days with closures other than 12/31.

Remember, Dec 27-29 will usually have the Rose Bowl Teams and their various bands and cheer squads in the park. Except when UCLA plays, the teams usually bring in a lot of people. (UCLA tends to be local and does't draw as large a crowd.)

Planning on going to DL early Christmas morning then when it starts to get really crowded(heard this happens early afternoon)head to DCA. Will they tell you as you leave one park if the other park is at capacity? I would hate to leave one park and then not be able to get into the other one.

I can't answer about closures, but the turkey dinner at Flo's is awesome!
